Love it, but not Luxury

We love this area, very convenient to great dining, town, and activities, yet secluded and with gorgeous mountain views. The house in general is great but has some funky aspects. It's a renovated older home with a great indoor/outdoor entertaining space, guest house and pool. But there were a couple of ugly, poorly done repairs that left holes in the walls and ceilings and in general, there were things that needed attention. WE LOVED THE PATIO but cleaning grills and placing patio furniture neatly (we had to search for some furniture), or arranging a storage room/laundry more neatly should have been done. There were also a limited number of towels and no towels for the pool and their were not enough glasses, cups, plates etc for the number of guests - in general the kitchen was very poorly stocked. There was an ugly mess in the guest house due to an emergency a/c replacement, which we understand, but we did feel we should have been compensated for having a less than satisfactory room. In all, there are some wonderful touches to this house - nice art work and thoughtful renovations - and in general we had an excellent time here. But to call it a luxury home would require the absentee owner to hire a better management company and to clean up and pay more attention to the important little touches. Still, I would recommend this place and if, after this review the owner will let me, I would like to return.

We were in Tucson for a graduation from the University of Arizona with our extended family (ages from 1 to 57). There was plenty of room for everyone and we loved the location. The master bedroom had a very comfortable bed. We used the pool and hot tub everyday. I would return to this house in a minute.

We stayed for 10 nights with 5 adults and 2 small kids from the end of March to early April. There was so much room for us in this place, we could have invited more people and still had room. The view out back of the mountains is great from the family room and hot tub. The location is close to a busy street, but you would never know it with the privacy fencing and walls. The location really is great, close to food, grocery stores, and a great bike path along the river. The pool was wonderful. The weather was warm (80's) so we swam alot. It is a deep pool so bring a life jacket for kids or adults who aren't strong swimmers. All the basic supplies you need are provided. The staff gave us great recommendations on local food. Hiking in Sabino Canyon was really nice as was Desert Museum. Get there early to avoid crowds at both places. We got to museum at 8 and when we left at noon there was huge lines waiting to get in. If we ever make it back to Tucsan we would stay here again!

This house is ideally located in the foothills of Tucson on a scenic highway. The house has a large dining/living area and ample space in all the bedrooms. The private hot tub was secluded with a view of the mountains. The master bedroom has a king mattress that was fabulous! All the linens and towels were very thick and soft. I would recommend this home to anyone. I stayed there in the winter but the pool area was very nice and again very private. We felt like we were the only home in the area. Don't hesitiate to rent this home.
