Welcome to Luxury at a Discount! You won't find a more beautiful home in all of Tahoe Donner, especially at this price.
Our house has recently been beautifully renovated and redecorated throughout - hickory hardwood floors (carpeting in the bedrooms), 3 kings size beds, 1 queen, and one single over double log style bunk bed, 1 queen size pullout couch, fully equipped kitchen, game room with full size full size air hockey table, fuzzball table, hot tub, garage, double entry flat driveway, front and back decks, designer furnishings, two fireplaces, kid friendly bedroom/playroom with tons of toys, and large family room. It is an extremely child friendly home with an ideal setup for multiple families and friends. The bedrooms are divided up (three upstairs, two downstairs) to provide a maximum amount of privacy between the two floors.
Our luxurious family vacation home is part of the Tahoe Donner community which includes access to the recreation facilities (gym, pools, Jacuzzis, snow sledding area, children’s play areas, private beach at Donner Lake).
We have made a tremendous effort to keep our fixed costs low and to pass on the savings to our renters. We have invested in eco friendly appliances and have gone GREEN where ever possible, and hope that our renters will participate in our efforts by turning down the heat, using less electricity etc in order for us to maintain our reduced rates.
Our 2012 - 13 rates are range between $400 - $585/night. There is also a 10% occupancy tax and $175 cleaning fee.
Here is a detailed description of the house and its layout that we have provided for renters that can be helpful for their vacation planning:
The house is an ideal multi-family house and was designed with kids in mind. My sister and I co-own the house and we have 5 children between our two families now ages 7 – 13 so the place is equipped from baby age up to teen (baby gate at top of stairs, clip on high chair, lots of toys and kids dvd’s, ping-pong table, fuzzball table, snow play area etc). It was also recently redecorated and looks fantastic.
The layout of the house is as follows… outside is semi-circular driveway that fits about 6 – 8 cars depending on snow levels in the winter, two car garage, easiest entry is through garage door into downstairs.
Downstairs level has the playroom with a couch (sleepable), tv with dvd/satellite, toys and books, two bedrooms (one king size bed, one queen size bed) and bathroom with shower over tub. The games room with a air hockey table, fuzzball table, dart board, etc is also on this level.
Upstairs level has livingroom/diningroom/kitchen as one big area (NEW!! 65 inch flat-screen tv/satelitte/dvd/receiver/gaming hook ups) with large deck off of front with big gas BBQ (kids can play in snow on deck), dining room table that extends and can easily sit 16 or more, three bedrooms (master bedroom with king size bed and bathroom, second bedroom with king size bed, third bedroom with twin over full bunkbed), large guest bathroom with shower over tub and washer/dryer in closeted alcove. Master bedroom and bunk bed bedroom have additional tv’s/dvd/satelitte. Hot tub is outside in the backyard just behind the house.
The house is heated by two gas stoves – one in family room, one in living room and additional individual room heaters for bedrooms as needed. Kitchen is fully equipped and has seen a lot of cooking action. House is furnished with wireless internet, lots of dvd’s, videos, books, toys, and games.
Depending on the age and desired sleeping arrangements for families with children, kids are usually happiest in the bunkbed bedroom. There are also multiple additional mattresses stored underneath beds throughout the house that can be used to sleep kids on the floors – either in the bunkbed bedroom or in their parents’ rooms. Kids can also sleep on the floor of the family room dormitory style (best for older kids). The advantage to having the house divided up onto two floors is that it allows for a greater amount of privacy and noise control.
In the winter there are plenty of snow play areas around the house (depending on snow levels) including the front porch, sides and back of house, and kids can build small sled runs onto the driveway in front. Our kids will event sled down the street with a parent pulling the sled if it's icy enough.
In addition to all of the fun things available at the house you have access to the Tahoe Donner Association amenities (rec center, swimming pools, gym, spas and saunas, equestrian center, private beach at Donner Lake, snow play area with sled/inner tubes, downhill and cross country ski resorts…).

This house is great for families with kids. The sepaerate living room and game room down stairs gave a place for the kids to play while the adults socialized upstairs. Babies were safe updates with a secure gate at the top of the stairs. Entrance in the house through the large garage was nice. The driveway, being a semi circle, was also really great. Our three cars could get in and out easily. The house isn't modern, but it was comfortable. The beds were all large. In addition to the beds photographed, there were two twin mattresses that could be moved around the house and a fold up mattress pad and a baby pack n play. The gas stoves heat up the house super well...we didn't even use the additional space heaters provided. The blankets on the beds are super warm and cozy. We had 15 people (adults and kids). We put 2 adults per bedroom and divided the girls and boys with the boys in the bunk bed room and the girls sleeping on the extra mattresses and couches on the downstairs living area floor. The owner was very helpful and responsive. I don't really have any complaints except it would have been nice to have some racks to hang the snow gear on. However they dried out nicely by just spreading it out in front of the gas stove downstairs.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners.

My sisters and our families loved this house for a ski-week family reunion. There was plenty of room for family dinners and everyone to sleep. The heaters really worked to keep us cozy. The owners were immediately responsive to a question and very friendly. The house was clean upon arrival. The hot water was great.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Just stayed at this house this past weekend. There were 3 families (6 adults and 6 kids) and we had plenty of room, there's a great area for the kids in the basement, ping pong, pool, a hot tub, and conveniently located in Tahoe Donner right off of 80 and very close to Truckee. Had a great time and would definitely rent this house again.Recommended for: Families with young children.

We stayed at this house for a long weekend with 4 families with kids ranging from 2-8. The owners were very helpful and answered all sorts of questions we had about the house, area, recommendations on places to go, etc. When we first walked through the house before unloading, my 8 yr old kept on saying how "awesome" this house is and he was right. It was VERY spacious, with 3 bedrooms on the main floor near the kitchen and family room and two bathrooms. Downstairs, there is another big family room with MANY toys that all of the kids loved playing with, two bedrooms, one bathroom and a game room. We were impressed with how "kid" friendly the house is - the owners thought of everything, even a gate at the top of the stairs. The guys loved the huge flat screen TV in the upstairs family room and enjoyed watching the big football game that weekend. There was a big storm the weekend we were there, so there was a lot of fresh snow. The kids had fun playing in the snow on the deck and we made a sledding run in the yard. The weekend went by way too fast and are thinking we need to make this an annual trip. My 3 yr old daughter keeps asking when we can go back to the "fun" house! We are looking forward to making a return trip in the future!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

My family (2 kids), my sister's family (2 kids) and my dad all rented the house this past weekend. We found the house to be perfectly situated for all of us. It was great to have multiple living spaces - made it easier to get the kids to sleep. My kids loved all the books and toys available and the bunk bed was a huge hit. The kitchen was well-stocked and it was all very comfortable. In addition, the owners were extremely accommodating and easy to work with. We were a party of 4 families who rented this home for a long weekend. It was casual, comfortable, and child-friendly. It is equipped with toys, games, kid dishware, and a gate at the top of the stairs. The owner is flexible and nice, and the cost was very reasonable. We also liked the proximity to Donner Downhill and the tubing/sledding area. We already reserved for next year!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners.

We rented this cabin for a long weekend with a large group of friends. It is very well-equipped and extremely spacious. It is in a great location for all the north Tahoe ski resorts. Owner response: We are always pleased to hear that our guests enjoyed themselves and the house. Equally as important is hearing when something isn't right, so we can fix it right away. That is why we have local management to deal with any issues that may arise while guests are staying in the house. We enjoyed our time in Tahoe. This home is lovely and works perfectly for our entire group (4 families, 4 kids). It was a second stay in this place for us - this house is the best (and we rented about 20 different houses in this area over the years). Floor plan, location of the house is great, house is equipped with everything. Owners are very responsive and helpful. It is the best house in the area.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

My family first rented this vrbo years ago and really became a place for our family to visit and use as a family reunion. The beach is so close, the Golf Course is very well known and the clubhouse (which we just paid for day passes) was a GREAT package set up for kids and a place to relax for me! The amenities are really top notch..... and we are well traveled. With the 2 separate floors of 'living space' it's very comfortable for multiple families. For anyone who has kids, understand the benefits of TWO living rooms! :0) It's truly a dream vacation - because the owners have thought of everything. The deck, the jacuzzi/hot tub and now they have a game room downstairs in the back is icing on the cake! Thank you for having this amazing house you share as a vacation opportunity! We recently stayed here for a long weekend with friends. We had three families with kids and didn't feel crowded at all. The house was well stock with loads of amenities.
