This charming farmhouse, built in 1830, was later converted to a 'Tudor' in the most elegant way. Sleep in a huge master bedroom with exposed beams, built- in closet with drawers, as well as an armoire with frosted glass panels.
Upstairs, a second large bedroom with two twin beds has a delightful cedar closet alcove, - that might enchant a child to play, and a third smaller bedroom with a full bed. There is a large full bath upstairs, with a tub / shower combo. And another full bath on the main floor.
There is lovely built-in storage throughout the house: a boot-room with pegs and shelves for muddy shoes and gear and glass cupboards in the kitchen. The family room is inviting with a wood stove, cable TV, bookshelves, and bay windows. An office space with a pull-out is equipped with high speed internet. Window AC units keep this naturally cool home cooler on especially hot summer nights.
This lovely home is located in Pittsfield, on the Richmond border - just one mile from Bousquet Family Ski Resort or just 22 minutes to Jimney Peak, sits on 6 1/2 private acres with a playscape, soccer field/ net, and a picnic table with charcoal grill. In summer enjoy cooling off at Onota Lake with a beach and boating access.
There is also Richmond Pond with a grassy area, sandy beach and clean water for swimming. Both are within 5 minutes drive of the property. Enjoy the Burbank Park Musical Series, Tanglewood is just 12 minutes, Shakespeare and Co. - 10 minutes, BTF - 15 minutes, Berkshire Museum and The Colonial Theatre are just minutes away in Pittsfield. Downtown Pittsfield is known for its local color, with its tucked away restaurants, shopping, and the Berkshire Mall. Lenox is only 10 minutes away and Great Barrington is about 25 - 30 minutes.
The Berkshires is known for its wonderful shopping, restaurants, galleries, live theater, hiking trails, swimming holes, and ski resorts. We pretty much have it all here and thhis area of Pittsfield is central to all of these activities and more. Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow as well as many wonderful museums are all within a shirt drive through the most stunning roadways in the Northeast.
