Our weekend getaway to Rebecca's home started off as an adventure! The home is in a more remote setting than we are used to and we got stuck in the snow 2 minutes from the house as we didn't have the right size chains!!! The kind neighbors and someone Rebecca called helped us out. Once we got the right chains, we were so thrilled with our surroundings. It snowed almost continuously and it was a beautiful white winter wonderland. We were minutes from Royal Gorge for x-country skiing and a short drive to Tahoe Donner. The house has every thing we needed for the weekend and the best part was Rebecca's hospitality. Next time we return, we'll be better prepared with chains and groceries! The property is well maintained and clean. Although the appliances are old, they are functional. The beds are cozy with clean linens and electric blankets. Now that we know of this beautiful cabin in the woods, which is definitely different than the more contemporary facilities we are used to renting, I'll say without doubt it was one of my family's BEST vacations. I was thankful the snow knocked out the sattellite signal for the television which gave us more time for old fashioned family fun and games.

Love the high ceiling in the living room and the decorations throughout the house. The bench in every room comes in handy after coming back from skiing. Us ladies especially enjoyed the large fully equipped kitchen. We had a great time here!

Recommended for:Families with young children, girls getaway.

What a lovely house and location! Our two families really enjoyed our stay. The kids loved the sledding and building snowmen. The grown-ups loved the scenery and the quiet. I personally met a number of very nice, helpful people who live in the community. I would come back again anytime! Thanks so much!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We are not skiers so it was especially nice that the cabin has an area on the property for sledding. Also, the cabin is right on the border to an open space with even more sledding and absolutely beautiful scenery. The inside of the cabin is really nice, modern and roomy. We had a group of 12 and were comfortable. We especially liked the large dining room table that seats 12 so we could all be together for meals, etc. We hope to stay at this cabin again next year.

We stayed at this property in mid-March 2010 and found it to be the perfect house for our needs. We had 2 young kids with us, and both enjoyed the opportunity to play in the snow and sled down the hill right next to the house. The house was roomy and well appointed--plenty of space for 2 or 3 families with everything you need for a weekend stay (well stocked kitchen, satellite tv/internet, games, books, lots of linens, etc.). Location was great--very close to Soda Springs, Boreal, Sugar Bowl, etc. Soda Springs was the perfect resort for our kids who were seeing snow for the first time. I highly recommend this property!

We had such a wonderful time in this house. It's a perfect home for round the year activities. We stayed in winter and we could really enjoy the outside snow by staying warm inside the house. The whole living room area is really nice to spend some family time together. We stayed in the house with our extended family and having kids range from 2 years to 13 years. All had super fun. All the little ones are asking "can we go back to snow home." Especially Rebecca was very understanding and kind lady who was very flexible about checkin and checkout time when we had smaller kids.

My family really enjoyed staying in Rebecca's home, which had a cheerful and cozy feel. Our two young children especially liked sledding down the small hill on the property. They said, "Mom, can we please go back to the sledding house next time?"

We stayed at Rebecca's cabin the week between Christmas and New Year's. The cabin is located up a hill in a beautiful setting with lots of trees and it's very quiet. The kids loved being able to sled right next to the house and the woods next to the cabin were absolutely gorgeous covered in snow. The inside of the house is very comfortable with a nice-sized kitchen and plenty of room at the dining table. The owner is very attentive and it's obvious she wants her guests to be comfortable. It's just super cozy and comfy! I would recommend this house to anyone and would stay here again!

My friends and I had a lovely time over Thanksgiving 2009. We even had a beautiful snowfall at the perfect time. (after the grocery shopping and before we wanted to go skiing!) We definitely want to go again. Ridiculously close to ski resorts and I'm sure wonderful hiking in the summer. And the kitchen is well stocked for cooking up a storm with friends/family. You should go!

We had a four generation early Christmas gathering at the cabin. It was more than wonderful....plenty of room for all. I must concur with previous statements, the accomodations are very adqeuate and every necessary detail has been provided for. My son-in-law only suggested adding an outdoor hot tub! Definitely would stay here again. Great quiet location. Beds were very comfy. Kitchen well stocked. Thank you Rebecca.

A very nice house, well stocked with everything one might wish for; accommodated 4 couples comfortably. We experienced no hassles; all was good. Bring a good map with you, as the street signs may be buried in snow.

I loved the quiet feeling of being up in the trees. All the wonderful space so those in the family could spread out. It's beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen is very well appointed. It's nice to be so close to the outdoor activities that we all like to do.

We really enjoyed our stay in your home in Soda Springs and our cross-country skiing adventures at Royal Gorge nearby. Your home was very spacious for the four of us and very well stocked. We're readers so we appreciated the natural light from all the windows in the living/dining area, the plentiful ceiling lighting, and the big green reading chair. (Okay, I imagine other people like it for watching TV, but we think it's a reading chair.) Thank you for providing such a lovely place for us to stay.

We had a wonderful time in Soda Springs. This cabin is ideally located for quick access to winter/snow sports with several ski resorts just a few miles north and the sledding opportunities available around the neighborhood. We built a huge snowman just a few yards up the street from the front door. The cabin itself is well appointed and comfortable for all ages (infant,child,teen, and adult in our party). The homeowner's association promptly plowed the roads. We would stay here again.

Let me be "up-front" about this: I'm Becky's cousin, and my wife and I were her guests at her place recently. It was very nice. The place has very comfortable facilities, in a very peaceful location in a hillside forest location. There is a sunny back porch that is a wonderful place on which to sit and drink coffee in the sunlight of a morning and look over the forest. It's easy to get to from I-80. We were there in September, so we were not attempting anything ambitious like skiing. It was an easy drive over to Truckee and also to Lake Tahoe. All-in-all, I would highly recommend it as a good place to go for some peace and quiet. Cheers! Jorn Dakin
