  We had a great time. The condo was as advertised and completely met our needs. We were usually up and out by sunrise and not back until well after sunset so we really just used it as a showering/sleeping place. Very clean, nicely located, and stocked with everything we needed. Thanks!

  My family of 3 rented unit 916 at Aston Kaanapali Shores in early November. The unit is nice, in general, in a great location. However, we likely wouldn’t choose to stay in this unit of Kaanapali Shores again and wish we would’ve known a few things prior to choosing this unit. PROS: - Unit has been nicely updated & decorated and is well-stocked with kitchen amenities and other items. Nice bed linens & overall décor. Only part in need of redoing is the master bath light box ceiling lighting. - Kaanapali Shores resort itself is quite nice. Staff at the pool-side restaurant were very nice & food was quite good & reasonably priced by Maui standards. “Aloha Hour” pricing & menu good. - Overall good price for off-season, given location in W. Maui - Owner was easy to work with (although a little hard to reach since she only checks emails late at night) and even held our reservation request for a day while we worked out our flight arrangements - No additional resort fee since we rented a condo unit and not a hotel unit. Parking additional. - LOVED having a kitchen & washer/ dryer in-unit. CONS: - Unit overlooked part of the K. Shores’ parking lot and the parking lot of the resort to the north. Result: lots of parking lot noise, people talking / yelling, car horns, doors slamming, etc. While we were there, the resort was replacing carpeting, so a HUGE waste dumpster was installed in the parking lot below the unit (next to the regular garbage dumpster) and we got to listen to it being dropped off and picked up by semi-hauler around 7 am and 8 pm. Very inconvenient. Noise all day long from their activities. - Unit not as close to the ocean as we’d thought. The owner didn’t provide a map with the location of the unit in the complex, so we’d guessed and guessed wrongly. You can still see the ocean, but you are looking over the parking lots and roof of the complex to the north (Papa Kea). - Beach in front of resort is nice, but not as wide or flat as we’d anticipated. If the ocean is at all rough (was during several days of our stay), the rip tide and high waves can be very dangerous. Plus lots of rocks & coral right off shore. - The mid-week cleaning fee that the owner insisted on was a total rip-off. The cleaning ladies were there a maximum of 30 minutes, swept & mopped the floors, pulled up bed covers, wiped down counters. Since it was only day 4, unit wasn't dirty. Cleaning not worth the extra money paid. - Guest bdrm doesn’t have any light-blocking curtains.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

  My husband and I stayed here for a week at the end of September, and we loved even more than we thought we would! The condo was immaculately clean and well kept and the instructions and directions given by the owners were really helpful. The views are just as pictured (but even better in real life) and the condo is well stocked with all your kitchen needs, plus coolers, boogie boards, games. We battled it out with Monopoly every night! The property itself is very nice and well maintained, we spent a lot of time in the pools and snorkeling at the beach right in front. The location is terrific, across from a supermarket, a short drive to Whaler's Village and Lahaina. The owner was very easy to work with and responsive to all of my questions. I really couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommended!

  The condo was exactly as advertised, clean, nice decor all the amenities of home..including the blender! We sat on the lania each morning and drank our coffee while watching the whales!!! Just gorgeous! The condo was perfectly located and nice a quiet. I would highly recommend this unit and working with Kathy, the owner was without stress.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

  Clean, comfortable with great amenities...pool, hot tub, beach, snorkeling, bar, restaurant. We had a three year old with us and it was a perfect place for adventure and rest! We would definitely go back.

  Perfect location with all the amenities...pool, hot tub, beach, snorkeling, bar, restaurant and a very comfortable living area. We had a 3 year old with us and it was just the ticket for fun and adventure! We would definitely go back.

  Kathy, I want to thank you for opening your Hawaii home to us. We felt very welcome when we step through the doors at Kaanapali Shores. We spent two weeks in paradise. We had a wonderful time with our Daughter and her husband the first week and just my wife and I the second. I might suggest your potential customers, to do their research on the Island of Maui. It can be very expensive to dine. We spent several weeks prior to our vacation and went online, we found that most restaurants, clothing stores and activities have coupons. We saved a lot of money using these. The snorkel equipment was “2 for 1 rental” at Boss Frogs. Black Rock was the best place to snorkel. We rented bikes for a week and went on a snorkel trip to Molokini. Our kids decided to drive to Hana; we have done this in the past, you really only want to do this once. We really enjoyed the Aquarium; you get to see turtles, the exotic fish and sharks with a clear walk thru in the tank. I have in the past played many rounds of golf in Maui. Some of the best golf courses in the world is located on Maui. This year I decided to leave the clubs at home and spend more time with the family. You were correct that if you leave the sliding doors open for given time, you may find visitors. The little birds have no fear of humans. On the Lani they will sit next to you and talk up a storm. If you give one a piece of bread they will tell 50 of their friends and you will have a concert. The pools were great, we liked the one in front (square one) with the bar. Gary our pool hostess took care of every need we had. What a thrill watching the NBA playoffs next to the pool with a cold drink in your hand. Your home was nicely decorated in Hawaiian culture. We loved the flat screen TV in the master bedroom. The jetted tub was great after a hard day of shopping. Also we found out that when you check in and pay in advance for parking for our vehicle a second vehicle was no charge. Thank you again, we will be back! Mahalo,

  The following is the response we received via email from our New Year's guest to our follow-up thank you note we sent to them upon arriving home after their stay: "Thank you! It was a great trip and the weather was perfect until the last 2 days, when it got kind of cloudy and cooler, Even still, it was in the high 70's on those days and the other days were in the 80's. We returned home to a high of 40 yesterday! Your condo is very comfortable and well furnished and equipped with everything anyone could need. We especially appreciated being able to use the beach chairs. We loved the location and the view from the balcony is spectacular."
