We found the apartment better than the pictures and the write up. The view was fantastic from every window and the apartment had all the modern conveniences. I loved the open bright feel and all the counter space in the kitchen. The location couldn't have been better. Just like the write up says its a five minute walk to the stores and the Insitut de francais. Muriel, the property manager was very quick to remedy any little problem that came up. I would definitely go there again and would recommend it to friends.

We visited Villefranche on a cruise ship several years ago and fell in love with the town. Now, after spending a week in this lovely apartment, we are planning our return. The location is perfect, apartment is lovely, and the view fills your heart with joy and peace. We returned to this comfortable apartment each night after a full day spent wandering the coast of France and the hilly streets of Villefranche. We fixed salads, ate bread and cheese, drank French wine while gazing at the serene "old port" through the windows and from the balcony. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed for a week's vacation. Please be sure to walk to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat to explore the coastal trail and hike the Nietzche Trail to the medieval town of Eze. The views are amazing! Thank you, thank you for a wonderful time spent in Villefranche-su-mer.

Room with a View

My sister and I enjoyed a week in October in this 130 year old villa (modern) apartment. This third floor flat was well equipped, everything was provided including a washer and dryer. From the small balcony we watched the boats and cruise ships arrive and enjoyed beautiful sunsets after a busy day exploring Old Town Villefranche-sur- Mer. The one euro bus was the best way to explore the surrounding areas, including trips to NIce to visit the Chagall Museum and a cooking class with Rosa Jackson! The reservation and arrival procedures were simple and secure due to Erin and Muriel's thorough and advanced preparation.

We love the house in Villefranche. The view from the balcony is so pretty and the apartment is gorgeous. It has absolutely everything you need in a house including beach toys which was great for our son on our trip down to the beach. It is convenient to town although you will definitely get a workout going from town back up to the house ! Highly recommend and would stay here again.

Wonderful french getaway

We stayed at this property in the middle of September. Everything was wonderful. The apartment was perfect. It is in a great location and is large enough to accomodate families. The appliances were new and came with easy instructions. The apartment is close to shopping and restaurants. The only thing that could be an issue is the walk up to it. It will give your cardio a mini workout but it will make up for all the wonderful food and wine you are enjoying. We loved this property and hope to be back again soon!!

Owner response:Thrilled you enjoyed yourself! We were so happy to have you. This is France..consider yourself fortunate that we are only three very short flights up with well lit wide sturdy steps:))

Loved our stay in this convenient Villefranche apartment

The apartment is lovely and was exactly as described only -BETTER! We adored using the kitchen and enjoying wonderful, cheeses, pates, chickens, steaks and WINE. So many fantastic places to shop and very reasonably priced too. The kitchen exceeded my expectations. The bed and bath are new and fashionably and comfortably arranged. Air-conditioning worked great in all rooms. The internet wi-fi, and cable TV was in good order with a large selection of channels in at least 4 languages. The view from the terrace of the sea and the old village is lovely. You can hear the churchbells ring every morning what a charming way to start the day. The location was wonderful, with easy access to buses to get everywhere on the coast. Also super easy walking to shops, markets, Doctors and pharmacy. The cafes in the neighborhood were great and welcomed us warmly. I think the rent was a good value for money and would recommend this to any of my friends.

Beautiful Villefranche Apartment

Guest: Jenni (Los Angeles)
Date of Stay: 07/16/11 Review Submitted: 08/03/11

This apartment in Villefranche is absolutely perfect. Suffice to say, you can stop searching the internet and just book this place NOW! Two bedrooms, modern bathroom, stunning views, full kitchen, beach towels, TV, Internet, washer & dryer, parking, and even travel books (you don't need to pack yours, they are on the bookshelf and current). Location to town, bakery, outdoor market, beach, shops, pharmacy, and restaurants are just a 5 minute walk down the hill. Bus stop is at the bottom of the hill and by bus you can get to Nice and Monaco quickly. There is a binder in the apartment that tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about the home, the town, and all the must see tourist attractions. We've traveled all over the world and Villefranche is now our favorite place in Europe. Perfect in every way! You simply must stay here!

Wonderful apartment

Date of Stay: 07/02/11 Review Submitted: 08/04/11

My daughter and I spent 6 nights here this past July 2011. The apartment was fantastic, even better then we expected. It was so nice to have a real hombase after traveling in hotels. We especially appreciated all of the thoughtful touches, like the beach mats and umbrellas. The bed was the most comfortable of our 5 week trip. The views from every window were fantastic, just like the pictures but better! The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and dishes which made cooking a breeze. The instruction book for the apartment was very well done with lots of pictures and arrows, following the steps I even figured out the washer and dryer! The apartment is in a good location, grocery and bakery nearby and the main part of old town is a short walk down hill (the only downside is the walk back up hill - a good way to burn off those dinner calories!). There are many resturaunts to choose from, Le Serre was our favorite. The bus stop is very close and from there it is an easy bus ride to Nice or Monaco. I would not hesitate to stay here again, I hope I do one day!

A wonderful view of the Mediterranean! The apartment's location can't be beat, especially if you're attending French classes at l'Institut de Français. It's perfectly located between the Institut and the charming old town. My husband walked to the boulangerie for his "daily baguette" and we took the bus from the conveniently located bus stop to Nice and everywhere. The kitchen is very well equipped and the modern appliances are in excellent working order. The restaurants, post office, and grocery stores are all within walking distance which enabled us to live in the "French style" for 6 weeks. After a rigorous day of French classes, one can find many great places to unwind. We highly recommend La Mere Germaine (where we had our Christmas dinner) and La Serre for pizza. Chez Betty is a favorite hang-out of students from the Institut. Our two adult children joined us for the holidays (plenty of room for them!) and we will always cherish our memorable Christmas in Villefranche-sur-Mer. Many thanks to the Freers, and to Erin and Muriel for a very enjoyable stay.

Stayed a week in October. Good layout of apartment. Kitchen was gourmet quality. Everything modern and new. The best was the views of town and the harbor. Loved watching the cruise ships pull in. Apartment manager was very helpful. Also good parking, unusual for small french towns. Would stay again.

this is a charming apartment just outside the Old Town, amenities are first rate and the walk up and down to the Old Town keeps you fit so you can freely indulge in all the cheese, wine and bread from the area. It is so close to Nice and surrounding area's that you feel like you are in a big city, whilst at the same time you have the tranquility of a small village.

Villefranche Perfect Apartment

Having stayed here for 2 weeks last summer, I write to compliment the tasteful owners, the Fleers, & the calm, dedicated managers, esp. Erin, of this beautiful apartment. The view is stunning. Location amazing. Indeed perfect for Institut de Francais etudiants - a brisk walk up the hill to the Garden Gate of the school. The apartment building is unprepossessing from the outside, & simply gorgeous from within the apartment itself. Again, those views!! The little balcony. Appliances super modern, sometimes baffling (so French). Loved being able to walk to the bakery for the morning pain chocolat & baguette. Tons of restaurants, all fun and, as others have noted, a marvellously comfortable & convenient bus service that runs from Nice to Monaco. Loved lunch at Chateau Eza in Eze, with a view to forever. Endorse firmly, recommend, and would definately stay here again. Une etudiante de francais et son mari.

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at this lovely Villefranche-sur-Mer apartment. For the two of us the apartment was very spacious (also big enough for 4-6 people), it has a great kitchen and above all, the view from the apartment overlooking Villefranche-sur-Mer and the beautiful blue mediterranean sea was fantastic. We truly loved sitting on the little balcony every morning for breakfast and at dusk for sunsets! Villefranche-sur-Mer is one of the prettiest villages along the Cote d"Azur and has very nice shops and restaurants. Also there are so many opportunities for day trips from Villefranche to Nice and Monaco, to the perched villages or even to Italy. You should spend at least a week there! Muriel, the manager at Villefrance, as well as Erin who handles the initial booking have been extremely helpful and friendly. All in all, the apartment can be highly recommended and we will definitely return!

The appartment was absolutely as described and presented by the photos. We spent some nice days in this beautiful and very well maintained appartment and would come back any time. In addition, it is near to the center of the village and the sea. Villefranche-sur-Mer is a nice village with nice places, churches to visit and with good restaurants. In addition Nice is very close (only a few minutes by bus) and also worth at least one visit for visiting museums or shopping.

Four and a Half Stars - Potential for Five

Guest: RJ&B (Lake Mary, Florida USA)
Date of Stay: 04/01/10 Review Submitted: 05/15/10

If you have a car this location is preferable to staying in the Old Town as parking is usually available adjacent to the building. It is just a short walk to both "downtown" and the Old Town. The apartment is extremely well furnished, with modern equipment, air conditioing/heathing, internet connection (bring your own computer) and an up-to-date bathroom. The TV, washer/dryer, range and oven are very new and somewhat confusing. Unfornately, the "instructions" for their operation simply refers to the equipment manuals, which were not very helpful. To get the additional half star there should be one page instruction sheet for each item of equipment. Additional, something should be done about lighting in the hallway. We can recomment the Cafe de la Paix just inside the Old Town for morning coffee and breakfast, especially the omelete. And be sure to check out the street market in the downtown next to the tourist office. For shopping there is a Petite Casino acouple of blocks past the tourist office and another in the Old Town. Both have a good selection of wine and every thing you need to eat - if you are inclined to prepare your own meals. All in all, a very enjoyable stay .

Wonderful apartment in a wonderful location

Date of Stay: 03/07/10 Review Submitted: 03/28/10

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Villefranche and at the apartment. The location is exceptionally convenient for getting around Villefranche, but also for bus and train trips to Nice, Cannes, Eze, Monaco and more. No need for a car at all. We even walked to the Villa Ephrussi on Cap Ferrat. The apartment is very modern with all conveniences and really does have a nice view of the harbor! There were 3 adults in our group and we did not feel crowded at all. There is a large selection of restaurants well within walking distance in the old village. The ones along the harborfront are nice, but there are also many others. Le Mekong was a favorite of ours.

Owner response:Our home is a wonderful base for exploring this region of the Riviera. Public transportation is easily accesible and shopping and restaruants are a short walk away. We think you will really enjoy our views of the beautiful Bay of Villefranche!

This is a lovely apartment which became our home for 9 days. The views are spectacular, the furnishings very comfortable and the kitchen is a dream! The location is very convenient for travel up and down the Cote D'azur and the village of Villefranche couldn't be more inviting. It has everything one might need: convenience stores, many fine restaurants, bakeries, shopping, and a great base for sightseeing adventures. We've stayed in other apartments in France and this one was, by far, superior to others. Thank you to Erin, the VRBO contact, who gave us all the information we needed to make our holiday so successful, and to the owners, who have made such thoughtful touches in how they have set up this apt. We would absolutely return.

We had a wonderful 2 week stay in VilleFranche Sur Mer and just loved the apartment. We were able to explore the surrounding area, and by the end of our stay were felt as if it were our home. The village was so nice and all the neighbors and local townspeople were wonderful. It was a vacation of a lifetime. Hope to return someday.
