Built by architects Kriesel and Palmer this mid-century beauty is a classic. Located next to the exclusive De Anza Country Club. The home backs up to the gorgeous mountains that made Borrego Springs famous.
From the moment you enter Lou's Lodge you get the feeling of warmth and comfort! This home provides you with the best accomodations money can buy.
The kitchen is well appointed and fully stocked. The original "floating cabinets" still remain and are in excellent condition. It has a breakfast bar that seats two and opens to the dinning area.
The dinning room table seats six comfortably. You can walk into the patio from the dinning room where there is a small table with four additional chairs for outside dinning.
The living room has leather seating, a fireplace and a 42" HD plasma TV. Besides satalite TV where you may watch HBO, it has a DVD player with a diverse DVD collection for your enjoyment.
All the bedrooms have ceiling fans and queen size beds, the mattresses are Sealy Posturepedic and the bedding is of highest quality. The sheets are all of egyptian cotton 1500TC. The master bedroom and the 3rd bedroom are furnished with 32" plasma TVs with satalite connections.
Outside on the half acre lot enclosed by acasia trees for complete privacy you can take a dip in your private solar heated pool or take a bike ride through Galleta Estates to explore all the interesting sites, that is an aventure in itself!Don't forget your telescope because from here you can see the Milky Way in all its gleaming glory. Anza Borrego is named by the way, one of the Top 10 stargazing locations in the nation by USA Today.
There is an outside shower by the entrance to the master bathroom, and a firepit to use where you like as long as it's outdoors.
Lou's Lodge is located in the most sought after neighborhood of all of Borrego Springs. Next to Anza Country Club the wind factor is the most mild in the valley not to mention the nearness of the State Park hiking trails. Rest and relaxation could not be better than this!

Why the Owner Chose Borrego Springs
The desert life has always attracted us when ever we planned previous vacations. Borrego Springs was the only real choice for us. San Diego is only an hour and a half drive from our home, making it easy for us to drive back and forth when the opportunity arises.
Two blocks from the home you can view the work of artist Ricardo Arroyo Breceda, commissioned by Dennis Avery. Elephants and Camels.
Open to the public for bike riding and walking, just 1 block from the house.

We are the Ruiz family of four. We are all natives of San Diego and we love to explore and travel as much as possible. Our daughter is 13 years old, our son is 30 and we are in our 50's, happily anticipating retiring. We decided to purchase a vacation home close to where we live because of our work obligations. The home we purchased in Borrego Springs attracted us for several reasons, the view of the mountains, the closeness to the golf course, a private pool and best of all the town. It's so small, quiet and peaceful just like Palm Springs was before it became so popular. This is the perfect place for us to recharge ourselves. We decided to list our home as a vacation rental, to help fray the cost of improvments and because we are not able to enjoy it as often as we anticipated. We hope you love it as much as we do!
