Santa Fe vacation

Guest: Dule (Switzerland)
Date of Stay: 05/01/12 Review Submitted: 05/09/12

A very nice surprise when we opened the front door. We immediately felt like home. We are already planning to spend some time in Santa Fe in the future. The only little drawback was that we could not use the barbecue because it was dirty. I would highly recommend this property.

Owner response:Very sorry about the grill. I personally checked the house after your departure and noticed the grill was not firing up. We have our cleaners check the grill and clean it between rentals. Since it was not working, the cleaner didn't run the cleaning burn-off cycle and forgot to inform me. Thanks for your review and hope you visit us again soon.

Fantastic home, very beautifully and authentically decorated inside and out. It's just like staying in a friends home. Very welcoming and well appointed. Great location, easy walk to Canyon road. Very clean, lots of firewood and beautiful keva fireplaces inside and out. The only things that need improvement are the shower head in the master bath and a couple of martini glasses. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect location, wonderful house

Date of Stay: 02/17/12 Review Submitted: 03/11/12

We've been meeting in different cities for girl's weekends for 21 years. This was the most amazing place we've ever stayed. The house was wonderful. Perfectly located near all of the galleries on Canyon Road. It would have been a reasonable walk to the square if it hadn't been February! The pictures of the house are amazing, but they don't even do it justice. It has a wonderful old Santa Fe feel to it. The highlight though is the kitchen. It has everything you could want in a gourmet kitchen and then some. We all absolutely loved this house. Everyone agreed it was the best place we ever stayed.

Spectacular home for a terrific stay in Santa Fe.

This is a spectacular home for staying in Santa Fe. It provided plenty of room for our family of 10. Our Christmas celebration was wonderful with the use of fireplaces throughout the home and especially in the kitchen. We were all more than satisfied with our accommodations. The location is convenient for walking to galleries and the plaza. There is a warmth and comfort to this historical home and great updates. A great place for entertaining and relaxing.

We just spent the holidays in this vacation home rental. An absolutely lovely experience....beautiful, cozy home and 'spacious' due to the layout for large family gathering. So close to all of the festivities in Santa Fe, walking distance to Canyon Road and the square. Historical architectural adobe features with modern kitchen and bath facilities. Many wonderful meals prepared amidst conversation in the large kitchen with kiva fire going. The house layout allows for space for families as it meanders on. A great feeling in this house. The owner/representative was very responsive, home well maintained and clean, great kitchen facilities.............i would highly recommend this to friends and relatives and hope to return some day again for another holiday. Cant even begin to list all the restaurants/attractions close by...many. I love Santa Fe over the holidays! Most festive. It was honestly hard to leave! I was/am very grateful for such a beautiful home to share holidays in with my family.

Great historic home with all new amenities

Of the 20 plus years our group of girlfriends, who have met at different locations all over the U.S. for an annual reunion. puts this one at the very top. This home is beautifully maintained, is extremely clean, the kitchen is top of the line, while the entire home retains the style of old Santa Fe. Typically we would dine out every evening but the home was so charming we hated to leave, so we cooked in and enjoyed our meals with a glass of wine on the patio with a fire in the fireplace. The location was perfect and we were surprised at how close we were to all of the museums and galleries on Old Canyon Road. Scott was great to deal with, and was quick to respond to any questions we might have had. If you decide to vacation in Santa Fe, I would highly recommend this property as your home away from home.

Great Girl Weekend Getaway Home

Guest: Deva (Shawnee, KS)
Date of Stay: 04/07/11 Review Submitted: 05/07/11

This house was absolutely beautiful inside and out. There were 7 of us girls that stayed here. The kitchen was well stocked and had appliances that absolutely rocked. We are a group that likes to cook a bunch rather than eat out, so having a top rated kitchen and an outdoor grill is a must for us. The family/dining room was a room we hung out in quite a bit. The room was warm and cozy. A nice bonus is that they have a Bose radio speaker system that I could hook my iPhone up to for background music. All of the beds were comfortable and were spread out so you could retreat to your room if you need some space. Location was great for us. Just about a half mile or less to Canyon road (art galleries) and about a mile or so to the Plaza (Local Indians sell their jewelry there). We walked to these locations a bunch. We hiked not far from this house. We drove about 4 miles to go hiking. Bottom line...you can't go wrong staying here. I highly recommend this house. In fact, all the girls kept on telling me over and over during the weekend on what a great job I did in picking out the perfect house for our group.

My daughters and I drove to Santa Fe to meet two of our friends. I had seen pictures of the house but never thought it would be so beautiful. The rooms were decorated beautiful and inviting. I loved the outside fire, and often sat out there with hot chocolate or a glass of wine!!! For Christmas my daughter made me a scrap book of our trip... it brings me such happy thoughts knowing I had a wonderful vacation at your house. I love my friend for inviting me and showing me Santa Fe.

Wonderful stay!

We, a group of five gals, recently stayed at this lovely home from 8/4/10-8/9/10 and had a great time. The house is large and has many nooks, garden patios and places to explore and enjoy. The kitchen is very nicely appointed and the generous touches, such as shampoo and soap, are not always found in a rental house. The portal is divine and we ate every meal outside. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Our only wish was for a larger screen TV, but that probably has more to do with our aging eyesight than anything else! The owners were very responsive to questions, and this truly was a unique home to stay in and experience. Loved it.

amazing property

Guest: Anampb (Austin Texas )
Date of Stay: 04/01/10 Review Submitted: 04/06/10

My family and I drove in from Austin Texas and stayed for a long weekend, 3 little ones and several adults. Plenty of space for everyone to be without feeling like you are cramped. We walked everywhere! The homeowners really took the time to make the stay very comfortable. Thanks! Can't wait to rent the space again!

Owner response:We are so pleased that you enjoyed the house and Santa Fe. I must say that we were pleasantly surprised at how tidy and organized you left the house. With larger groups including small children, we are usually braced for extra turnover time, but this time, we had time to spare. You are welcome back to our home anytime!

Our family spent a week over spring break and truly loved this historic, well appointed, comfortable home. After a day on the slopes it was so nice to come back to the house, cook dinner and have a glass of wine by the fireplace. Everything about this home was exceptional.

The pictures does not give this house any justice! All the areas in the house were so roomy, except for the one bedroom you have to walk outside to get to. If you like to be secluded in your own room, away from the noise and rest of the group - it is perfect! Other than that one room, the rest of the house is comfortable, spacious and gorgeous! The owners even left us a welcoming basket with goodies! Location is also great and not far from the Plaza and Ski Santa Fe. Will definitely come back if we snowboard in Santa Fe again!

Fantastic location and a wonderful place to stay while visiting Santa Fe

Guest: Roger G. (Bangkok, Thailand)
Date of Stay: 07/06/09 Review Submitted: 08/30/11

It's been just over two years since we spent an idyllic 2 weeks at this home during the summer of 2009. Since that time, we've gotten to know Scott and Maika and only now did we realize that our review of the house had not been posted on this website. In the last two years we've spent quite a bit of time in Santa Fe and know now that the home is ideally located for those that enjoy a walking tour of the Galleries on Canyon road, the occasional stroll down to the Plaza or a walk to museum hill. To be honest, I spent most of the time reading a book or surfing the Internet on the outdoor patio, but my 70 year-old parents who came to stay with us for about 1 week, walked down Canyon road almost every day, to the Plaza once and twice around Museum Hill. We also had short visits from my wife's family and a friend when my parents weren't at the house. In the end, we used every bed at one time or another and had as many as eight in the house for one or two nights. The strong points: 1. Great Location on one of Santa Fe's nicest streets 2. Very attentive and responsible management. You'll have a smooth booking process and know that the house will be clean and ready for your arrival. We found a beautiful welcome basket with fruit and wine, firewood ready for the fires we enjoyed in the evenings outside and clean sheets and bathrooms. 3. Outdoor portal with fireplace open to the kitchen and living room. On the evenings we didn't go out to eat, we sat at the large dining table below the covered patio for dinner and quiet conversation before and after. 4. Full-size washer and dryer allowed us to do much-needed laundry during our stay. The weak points: 1. Parking limited to 3 cars (only two, better). 2. Wireless Internet full signal only in the immediate area around the kitchen, family room, living room and patio. Adobe wells seem to block the signal to the back bedrooms somewhat. Final verdict: No place is perfect, but this home will come as close as any and you won't regret picking this house for your vacation stay.

My husband and I spent 4 nights here with 3 other couples, and we could not have asked for a more wonderful home-base for our vacation. The other reviews are right, the photos really do not do the house justice. I was surprised at how roomy it was, the 8 of us were not cramped at all. Beutifully decorated, very clean, the owners provided everything that we could want. It's about a 40 minute walk to the plaza, but Santa Fe is mostly a driving town anyway so if you want to make the most of your stay you should rent a car. My husband and I are alums of St. John's College and two of the couples we were travelling with had never been to the Southwest, and it was a perfect introduction to Santa Fe. We got up in the morning, drove to some favorite breakfast spots to get huevos rancheros, did some sightseeing and shopping, went for hikes once it cooled off in the afternoon, and then stayed up late barbequing, playing cards and sitting by the fireplace on the patio. It was totally relaxing, and we're already talking about another trip last year. I would go back in a heartbeat.

I just returned from a 3nt stay at this property, and cannot say enough good things about it! I stayed there with six friends and there was ample room for all of us. The house is absolutely stunning - beautifully decorated and landscaped - and the location is convenient to the Plaza and other activities in the city. The owners seem to have thought of everything to make their guests feel at home. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer! Thanks for a great vacation!

Owner response:As frequent world travelers, we contiually work to make this vacation house a place that we would want to stay.
