With three bedrooms and sleeping six (plus) people, this delightful, sunny villa boasts a large patio area looking out onto a 23ft x 13ft swimming pool. Beyond this is a lovely view of the inland waterway with its own fishing/boating dock where you can watch the sun rise and dine with the stunning sunsets.You'll see local wildlife including alligators, otters, turtles and all kinds of birds. A a delight to sit and watch.
Heron’s Rest is situated in a charming, peaceful community with homes and recreation carefully placed amid nature reserves spanning thousands of acres. Rotonda is an area that caters for many interests and pursuits. With its relaxed atmosphere and abundant wildlife, there is something for everyone, from the renowned golf courses on your doorstep to the white, sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. There are local, free tennis courts and cycling trails and the villa is equipped with two sets of Calloway golf clubs, four bicycles, tennis racquets and fishing rods!
The south-facing pool and deck provide a constant sun-trap from sunrise to sunset. With modern, spacious living, this villa has been built to the highest standards and has been beautifully furnished as a home. The accommodation is open-plan and fully air conditioned. It has a large living room with a separate dining area,a breakfast bar and every modern convenience you could need. The living room has sumptuous relaxing sofas to watch the 42 inc widescreen Plasma TV,we even have HD cable TV for you to enjoy!
The wall-to-wall patio doors in the living room and dining area overlook the screened patio and pool, where you can breakfast as the sun rises or enjoy evening dining as it sets. A further sundeck leads to the waterway docking, where you can fish or just relax in the sun. Sun loungers are provided, as well as beach chairs and such for days at the coast. The villa has fencing around the perimeter, which creates a private garden that incorporates a separate sun-bathing area.
The Master bedroom has a king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom complete with “his and hers” wash basins, a separate toilet and large walk-in rain shower. Bedroom Two, with a queen-sized bed, and the third bedroom with its two single beds share a second bathroom with a bath and shower. All three bedrooms have their own flat screen televisions(some with dvd) The Master and second bedrooms have patio door-access to the pool area.
The double garage has been carpeted and curtained in a “den” style, with a sofa that pulls out into a double bed, allowing more living space for additional friends or members of the family. It even has its own TV.
A small alcove from the kitchen houses an “office”,complete with a desk, Broadband internet access, fax and telephone with free local calls.
Child-friendly with travel cot and high chair provided. Pool alarm system available.

April 2013 Hi Mike We are now back in dear old England after another great holiday in sunny Florida The weather was glorious in that the temperature was in the middle 90s virtually every day throughout our entire stay We have been taking our holidays in Florida regularly since 1991 So we would like to take this opportunity of writing to say how much we enjoyed our stay at our excellent villa We can honestly say that Herons Rest is the very best accommodation we have ever stayed at in Florida It is a really lovely, luxurious villa We are very envious that you have such a delightful home, where it is possible to totally relax We took full advantage of the warm swimming pool as well as trying to catch our evening meal from the fishing dock However, we were not as successful as some of your other visitors as we didn't managed to catch anything during our stay. This is the most delightful elegant beautiful villa we have ever stayed at. It is as well equipped as a normal home and has a really cozy homely feel. The neighbours and locals are really friendly and the villa is in a great location with great golf courses tennis courts,bike ride trails and paths for jogging or lovely evening strolls. Great pool and outside space with beautiful views where you can sit out and relax and watch the sun go down. The fishing deck at the bottom of the garden is a really nice finishing touch. The perfect place for spotting wildlife. We saw gators stalks eagles herons armadillo racoons bobcats and loads of turtles and more. Amazing. This has been our most amazing holiday in the most beautiful villa we have ever stayed at. Constructive criticism is always useful for these reviews but for the first time ever I really dont have anything that isnt positive to say about this place. If this villa is on your shortlist then it really should be the one to choose. It will totally exceed your expectations just like it did ours. Dear Mike Yes unfortunately we are back at work. We had a marvellous time and your house is the best I have ever rented. You obviously really thought about bringing the outside into the house, views from all rooms were great. Very few villas give this view from so many rooms. Chris caught reasonable size gar fish and we saw two gators, turtles, wood stork etc. Even a tortoise on the road opposite! Most relaxing holiday - as relaxing as going off on our narrowboat. Hi Mike, We had a great time staying at Herons Rest over Easter.The villa was very well equipped and comfortable.We all enjoyed using the bikes and my son spent many happy hours fishing,often accompanied by the Herons. It made a change to have pool heating that actually worked and we made full use of it,often swimming under the stars after a busy day sight seeing. Thanks for a lovely holiday, The Dodson family. stunning! absolutely loved the house - I want it! The house is superbly fitted, the furnishings and fittings are first class and extremely tasteful. The owners have very good taste. I have to say we were envious when we arrived. The fishing rods were a bonus and we certainly made use of them, my husband caught his first catfish. We havent been to Rotonda before despite visiting florida many times and i have to say that we were really quite taken with the area and would recommend it to anyone. If theres a downside i couldnt find it - though i would say that the two ornamental dogs made my son and i jump when we opened the door, it was quite funny though. excellent house, great area, wish i had booked longer. Hi Mike, Just to let you know we had a lovely holiday. Your villa is beautiful and in such a peaceful spot - just what we needed after a hectic week at the Parks. We enjoyed exploring the area but also spent quite a lot of time lounging around and in the pool. Brian managed several fishing sessions and I have a few photos of his catches plus onlookers! Mike Absolutely fantastic....what a beautiful home you have.We felt we got to know the gators,turtles and heron quite well.Thought Farlows on the Water was about as good as it gets for seafood.Tried to attach a photo of my eldest with the largest of the catfish we caught using old steak as bait....caught loads.Just a fab week. We have previously rented 2 other properties in Rotonda (both in Pine Valley Court) and the children both agree with us that Herons Rest was the best! It is a very well maintained villa and feels more like a home than a rental property so we looked after it as if it was our own. About the owner: I am English, my wife American. We live in the UK, married for nearly 30 years we have two grown up daughters. One is training to be a doctor the other a lawyer. So they should both be able to take care of all our needs as we grow older!! We visit family in Florida regularly and now own our own piece of it in Rotonda. I jog to keep fit, my wife shops! We just love it here, not just the sun, but the whole area is unique, unspoilt and special. You will have the most relaxing, 'get away from it all', fun time here!

We just fell in love with this area of SW Florida! Its non commercialised, not spoilt, a real taste still of local community Florida. Real people still live here! Beaches are fabulous!Uncrowded white sand with the most incredible sunsets over the gulf. When we decided to buy here we wanted not just a vacation villa, but a home situated in the very best area of Rotonda and in the perfect position.
