'Murphy's at the Lake' is a private residence on 16 secluded acres which include timber, meadows and 1000 feet of frontage on Halfmoon Lake. Towering over the property are the Belton Mountains. These mammoth giants outline the sky in three directions and grace the lake frontage with spectacular views. There are no other properties or residences on the place, which adds to the uniqueness and exclusiveness of 'Murphy's'. Then, to top it off, Glacier National Park with all of its incredible scenery is only 2 miles away.
The home is large with lots of space and privacy. The main floor consists of a living room in the center part of the house with a dividing counter between the kitchen and dinning area. On the west side of the living room are three bedrooms and two baths, one handicap accessible. On the east side is an office, two large bedrooms,bathroom and a /sunroom/greenhouse. On the second floor is a large master suite (500 sq.') with a king size bed, leather sofa, sitting area, desk, bath, and balcony. Full laundry is off the kitchen area. The house has a total of 6 bedrooms, with extra sleeping on couches and the sun room and 4 bathrooms.
The back yard is large with flowers and raised garden beds, picnic tables, lounge chairs, BBQ, slide, teeter tooter and a perimeter fence that can be shut to keep small children from roaming. On the west side of the house is a kennel, should you want to leave your pet while in the park. On the south side of the house, a cul-de-sac driveway borders a central yard complete with spruce trees, shrubs, and flowers. And to the southeast a small road/path approaches the lake for access. We've moved a small cabin to the lake for fisherman and kids who want to hang out in something different. The dock has a removable section for floating further out. In addition a small canoe and row boat are availabe. There is limited fishing gear stored in the fishing cabin near the lake. This cabin can be used for the adventurous who want to sleep near the lake.
Murphy's at the Lake is great for small weddings, family groupings (especially the 3 generations...grandparents, adult kids and the grandkids) and larger traveling groups...each with their own space and time together as well. We are open May through September. Given the limitations of renting only one home, we retain the 50% deposit unless we are able to re-rent the property. Every attempt will be made to re-rent the property if there is a cancellation, and if it is re-rented, we will refund your deposit less 25%. Thank you for choosing our listing.

Three generations/10 people spent a week here in August 2011. Well maintained and well stocked property. Flower beds and vegetable gardens surround the house. All linens and soft towels provided. We particularly liked having four bathrooms - each family had their own. We used it as a launching point for the many activities in and around Glacier Park. Half Moon Lake is not visible from the house. There is a dirt road on the property that leads down to it. We took advantage of the canoe and rowboat for fishing and nature watching on the lake. The property owner, Ted, was easily accessible whenever we had a question or needed something.
Recommended for:People with disabilities, adventure seekers, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

"What's not to like about 'Murphy's on the Lake'? We had a very harmonious convergence of friends and extended family...." Aug 2008 "Our two families had a wonderful time at 'Muphy's on the Lake'. It was very relaxing and private and after hiking all day we'd come back, relax,and play poker...we even watched a meteor shower at the lake one night...and Ted helped our 10 yr. old son learn how to cast.
