From the hallway you get a first glimpse of what is too follow, free flowing of space into the open plan lounge/dining area, old style yet contemporary but above all relaxing & ready to enjoy. The open plan lounge area is very spacious & bright, the new velux sky light windows allow in the morning light, the beams are painted cream in colour & rise 45° to double height. The new oak floor, cream panelling –the lanterns & leather couches even the wall mounted plasma screen TV/DVD they allow for a relaxing atmosphere.

The accompanying dining area comprises of a large pine table & 8 carved chairs with views out via the south facing full height window allowing maximum light to flood the room. Also on this floor there is a full bathroom with shower & easy access to the fully equipped kitchen. The full size antique pine kitchen is well equipped with a Washer, Dryer, Dishwasher, Hob, Oven, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer & all general kitchen equipment. There is also a table & 4 chairs for extra visitors.

The first bedroom on the lower floor is a large double room, with pitch pine furniture, maple floor & a large three piece ensuite. Both these bedrooms share a separate bathroom with electric shower.

Our house is indeed a unique beachfront home, on a peninsula overlooking Kinsale itself, surrounded by heritage & the sea. We have direct access to a very safe, sandy beach, you stroll across the gravel courtyard & private lawns & step quietly onto the soft sand.

On the other side of the peninsula from the beach is a great yacht marina Castlepark Marina, with numerous yachts & boats available for charter, short term holiday moorings can also be arranged. Also on the doorstep is the famous traditional pub, The Dock for a quiet pint. Directly across the water is historic Charles Fort, behind the house is the equally famous James Fort, both guarding Kinsale harbour. Up behind the house is a very beautiful, heritage protected headland with very scenic walks, providing panoramic views of both the inner & outer harbour, our beach, Charles Fort, Kinsale town & the Bandon River.

Castlepark has it all yet you are still only minutes from the gourmet capitol itself-Kinsale. A real Gem to escape too!

We highly recommend Castlepark to anyone who wants a home away from home. It is very clean, casual, and lots of space to spread out if you have several couples, as we did. We enjoyed the kitchen for breakfast, the laundry facilities, and the large living room. The listing description and photos were all as advertised. Declan was very good about answering our questions, and getting a good deal for golf :-). All the restaurants were great, Jim Edwards is our recommendation, and Dalton's pub for traditional Irish music on Mondays and Tuesdays. Don't come late or you won't find any space! We would definitely refer our friends to Castlepark. Only one small downside is there is no internet connection or telephone, so we needed to go into town to connect with the world. Upside of that, it is really cheap to buy a local phone, which we did. Thanks for a lovely stay Declan.

We stayed in Castlepark Kinsale the week of August 20th. There was nine of us which consists of 7 adults and 2 kids. The house was brilliant the layout of the house was exactly what we needed we were not living on top of each other because of the space. Having a beautiful beach that was just steps away from the doorstep was excellent, my kids just had so much fun there. I had a friend come and visit us with her 2 kids and her Mum they to did not want to leave they had so much fun. Also having the Dock bar to sit out on a sunny day was just lovely. There also was beautiful places to walk to like James Fort, it was so pretty.Kinsale also had such beautiful places to eat i highly recommend Maxs we went there 2 nights in a row. Overall it was a fantastic place to stay and we would diffently go back.

Kinsale 172467 Outstanding!

This home is in Kinsale, which is a lovely harbour town with lots to do for any genre. My family stayed in this home and we found it to be quite lovely. The owners are very accomodating and are very willing to give information on golf courses, restaurants, hiking, and other activities. The home is very modern and the layout is great for families. It is within walking distance to town and is situated within one minute of the beach. My husband golfed Old Head, which is nearby. If you golf I would definitely recommend considering making a tee time! We actually had a cook-out one night above the beach and it was great fun. I would highly recommend this home to anyone visiting Ireland! The listing information and photos are exactly as you will find the home. The home was clean, well maintained, and well equipped.

MARVELOUS PLACE! 20-MINUTE WALK INTO KINSALE AROUND BAY.......DELIGHTFUL. HOUSE LOOKS LIKE THE PHOTOS: VERY PLEASANT, ROOMY, AND ATTRACTIVE. WELL-MAINTAINED, GOOD CONVENIENCES; EVERYTHING WORKS. LOVE TO VISIT AGAIN AND WOULD STAY IN THE SAME PLACE. RELAXING! CHEERFUL AND INFORMATIVE OWNER WILLING TO RESPOND TO CONCERNS. GOOD DRIVING DIRECTIONS, EXCELLENT SECURITY. VIEWS ARE SPECTACULAR. WE DON'T SAIL OR FISH, BUT THERE WAS PLENTY TO DO AND SEE. LOVED IT. THE FOLKS AROUND KINSALE WERE KIND, FRIENDLY TO STRANGERS, AND VERY HELPFUL IN FINDING THINGS AND SUGGESTING PLACES TO SEE.

Great for our family

Guest: Bruce (Shelburne VT USA)
Date of Stay: 08/07/10 Review Submitted: 08/27/10

This house proved to be perfect for our family -- our 3 adults and 3 kids (17, 14, 12) fit comfortably in the house, which was well-lit, clean and well equipped. The family who own the house were very accommodating and available for our questions, and the whole Castlepark complex was quiet and friendly. Easy access to the beach was a great plus, and Kinsale itself is a great launching-off place for our visits to Beara Peninsula, Cork, Cove, pony trekking, and many other day-trips. We done many house rentals over the years, and we felt anxious having to arrange this one sight-unseen at great distance, but it could not have gone better and the house and location were perfect. Did I mention easy access to the Dock pub just outside the complex gates? We'd love to return someday -- in the meantime, we hope to send friends and relatives.

Date of Stay: 07/31/10 Review Submitted: 08/12/10

We were fortunate enough to stay at this lovely home for 1 week. Slept all 8 of us comfortably. The house was in good shape, well cared for and clean. We ate out a few nights - and cooked in a few - Very easy to prepare a meal for all 8 of us. Very convenient to the town. Easy walk in to town. Plenty of shopping - whatever we needed. Owner is very pleasant and on top of things. When we had a question or two we would email him and get a quick response. Short walk to a lovely beach and a local pub. One drawback was laundry. Comes with a washer/dryer combo. We were hoping to do our laundry at the house, but ended up taking it into town (they wash by the pound). Overall, could not have been happier. Highly recommend this home and Kinsale.

Amazing Vacation

Guest: KerryAnn (New York, USA)
Date of Stay: 05/06/09 Review Submitted: 06/19/09

This sun drenched home was perfect for our group of eight, which included two young children. The layout of two bedrooms on the lower level and two bedrooms upstairs provided privacy for all. Kinsale is the perfect combination of amazing views, friendly pubs, and gourmet restaurants. The home was a quick drive to town and the owners were MOST accommodating. They even sent their two beautiful daughter's to baby-sit for our children and found us working hair dryers in a pinch! There were so many wonderful restaurants to choose from and live music almost nightly. For the kids the Fota Wildlife Park in Cork is an absolute must! We would recommend this home and Kinsale to anyone traveling to Ireland.
