Casa Kikillia is a beautiful Mexican villa located just 20 minutes from downtown Puerto Escondido. The property is located off Mexico's main Highway 200. After a short drive down an enchanting, shady road, lined with tropical flora and agricultural fields, you will pass into the gated community of Villas Cumana. A short walk across the road from the house is a beautiful private beach used exclusively by residents and visitors. The main building houses two separate bedrooms with private entrances, each with its own private bath. The upstairs bedroom includes a king size bed and the lower floor contains two queen size beds to allow up to 6 people to sleep comfortably. The sound of ocean waves provides a tranquil, soothing background for a relaxing and sound sleep.
A spacious palapa includes a full kitchen, bath, and living/dining/family entertainment area. Ocean and mountain views abound from all locations on the property. Just outside the palapa is a pool for relaxing any time of the day. The grounds are fully landscaped with many trees, shrubs, and a lawn area. And, the surrounding areas have many protected native plants and animals that may be seen and photographed.
Maid service is provided twice a week. Additional maid service and/or a cook can be provided for an additional fee. A TV with DVD player is available for entertainment. Although numerous taxis are available in town, a rental car is recommended for the convenience of traveling between Puerto and Casa Kikillia. Rental cars are available from Budget near the airport in Puerto and from Hertz at Hualtuco's airport, one hour's drive away.

Kikillia is in a wonderful, quiet, community which is on a reserve for many aminals and plants. You can walk across the road and be on the beach. At certain times you can see fireflies roaming in the yard, birds will speak with you when you wake in the morning, and if you wish to take a walk in the evening sometimes you can see the turtles trecking across the sand. The city with its colorful mercado, is enjoyable to roam and the native people are friendly and helpful.

A very tranquil, relaxing location. I have stayed there 3 times, each time for a week or more, and have come away very relaxed and rested. At each visit, they have made improvements to the property which has increased its functionality and attractiveness. A new patio deck just outside the upstairs bedroom makes sitting out and watching the ocean very pleasant. There is a nice lawn and lots of trees for watching the colorful birds. The location is quite rural, so there are a lot of possibilities for spotting local wildlife around the property. The palapa is separate from the main building and is very open and a nice cooling breeze wafts through from all sides. It is the main living and eating area with a full kitchen. The pool just outside the palapa is small, but is nice for wading in and cooling off. For swimming, I preferred walking the short walk down the access path to the beach. The beach goes on for miles, so long walks along the surf line were great after a day of sightseeing. The sounds of the ocean waves in the bedrooms at night are very restful and sleep inducing. Definitely recommend a rental car for longer range day trips though taxis are inexpensive and plentiful along the main road and into town. The town is a few miles drive where there are lots of restaurants if you don’t feel like cooking in the kitchen.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+.
