La Granja is an ideal location for a vacation.
The duplex is centrally located but on a no-exit side street away from traffic. The 18th century palace is next door, with its splendid gardens and fountains, the Guadarrama mountains as backdrop. Restaurants, shops, market, pharmacy, are within easy walking distance. Or one can go down the road a few kilometers to Segovia, a provincial capital, famous for its cuisine (lamb, suckling pig), monuments (Roman aqueduct, 16th century cathedral, 26 Romanesque churches), and shopping. A wonderful place to walk and hang out in outdoor bars and cafes.
While there is an endless list of places to visit in the area, relaxing in the mountain air, walking in the gardens, and returning to rest in a comfortable home at night is an important part of the beauty and joy you will experience.
