Casa Rexa is located in a quiet, guarded residential neighborhood a short walk from the center of Jacó and the beach. Jacó is a small (population 12,000), relaxed beach town that has become one of Costa Rica's most popular destinations. Palm trees and 5-star resorts share the shoreline along the 2.5-mile length of the beach.
Jacó boasts a wide variety of restaurants ranging from upscale fine dining and lobster feasts to delicious small Coats Rican family restaurants (called Sodas) where you can enjoy a great typical Costa Rican meal complete with fried platanos for dessert for less than $3.
In addition to more than 100 restaurants, Jacó has many bakeries, ice cream parlors, art galleries, casinos, nightclubs and an ever-growing number of retail shops.
Jacó and neighboring Playa Hermosa are world-class surfing destinations and host several international events each year. The Los Suenos Marina & Resort, located 5 minutes to the north, is home to a large fleet of sport fishing charter boats. Los Suenos hosts several sport fishing contests each year.
Nearby Jacó are two national parks (Manuel Antonio and Carara) and many trails through the rainforest, some of which leads to impressive waterfalls.
Jacó has a great Farmers Market each Friday and a few full-service supermarkets complete with bakeries and butcher shops. There is a fairly comprehensive corner market just about 200 yards from Casa Rexa. Downtown Jacó also has a well-stocked liquor and wine shop.
