One of the best features of this cottage is its location!!! It sits on a scenic lagoon and is just 4 doors away from one of the most beautiful, family friendly beaches on the east coast. Just a 5 minute walk to Night Heron Park provides access to a variety of activities.
The cottage has a large, well-appointed kitchen with oversized Sub-Zero refrigerator, granite counter tops and tiled floor. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed, an updated bathroom with dual sinks and a natural tiled shower. The large window in this room looks out over one of the most scenic lagoons on the island. A glass wall enhances this view from the living room area during the day. The second bedroom has a double bed and the third has twin beds. There are two TVs - one in the living room (w/DVD player) and one in the master bedroom(w/DVD player). High speed wireless internet access is also available.
There is also a cozy sun room with an adjoining deck - both providing scenic views of the lagoon. When returning from the beach, a refreshing walk or a bike ride (30 miles of paved trails), there is an outside shower for your convenience (hot & cold water) to wash away the sand.
Kiawah Island has so much to offer with world class tennis and golf, 10 miles of uncrowded beach, nature programs, fine dining and children's programs. A new shopping village (Freshfields) provides convenient access to groceries, souvenirs, and restaurants. Charleston, with all it's history and charm is just 30 minutes away with restaurants, sight seeing and shopping.

Why the Owner Chose Oceanwoods Cottage
Kiawah is the perfect place for us. We have always loved the flat, sandy, uncrowded beach and have spent many hours lounging on it, playing in the surf and riding bikes as well. The unspoiled tropical beauty is awesome along with the wildlife that is ever present. Our cottage is very close to the beach and sits on a scenic lagoon. Nestled in the Oceanwoods neighborhood, our home is a short 2 minute walk to the ocean making it easy to take a break from the beach for lunch. Families have come back to this area year after year because of it's central location so close to this terrific beach! No matter what time of the year, the island provides the opportunity for solitude and relaxation, but also adventure as well whether biking the many trails, going on turtle patrol, or kayaking the marshes. Having Charleston just 30 minutes away is a nice bonus.

When on the island, we love time on the beach, riding bikes all over, trips to Charleston, checking out the alligators and relaxing at our cottage (just to name a few).
Neighborhood market open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Offers a wide variety of grocery items.

Our family has vacationed on Kiawah for more than 10 years creating wonderful memories for our four children. We have always been a "beach" family and love to spend our days lounging on the beach, exploring the trails and lagoons and just plain relaxing. Our many years of coming to this beautiful place led to us purchasing this cottage so that we could own a piece of paradise to share with our family and friends. In 2008, our oldest daughter was married on Kiawah and we look forward many more such wonderful memories.

My parents rented this property from 12/26-1/9. We stayed with them from 12/27-1/1/11. It is a beautifully decorated home and we loved it for our annual Christmas Kiawah trip! My parents especially loved the enclosed sunroom! There weren't any TV's in the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms, but really not needed! Great beach access and we love to take our bikes and ride everywhere! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!!
