Stayed at Sol Cottage for a week with my new wife and had a great time. Sol Cottage is just the right size for a getaway and was very comfortable. Marc was quick to respond to anything we needed, he even replaced a broken beach chair immediately after I told him about it. It's a decent drive from Cruz Bay so a car is definitely required, but there's parking right in front of the cottage and we enjoyed the drive. Also, according to my wife, his dog Quincy is the cutest dog on the island...

My husband and I stayed at Sol for Thanksgiving week 2010. We originally were going to stay at one of the camp grounds due to budget constraints, but found Sol to be competatively priced yet more comfortable. We planned an active vacation , hitting different beaches and areas of the island every day. So sol's location met our needs perfectly. Marc the owner and his dog quincey were freindly, unobtrusive and helpful. If you are looking for a comfortable, clean and quite place to spend your evenings sol should more than meet your needs. Airconditioned bedroom loft with queen bed and half bath, comfortable downstairs living room with TV , Stereo and Kitchenette, adjacent full bath (romantic outdoor shower) and charming indies style screened porch. Simply beats camping with the bugs anyday but for the same price.

My sister and I just returned from a five night stay at Sol Cottage. Not only is the cottage beautiful, but it is affordable and close enough to town to be convenient yet quietly tucked away. I loved the outdoor shower! It is so nice to have such a beautiful place to stay that is also affordable considering how expensive St. John can be. The island itself is amazing and we can't wait to return. Sol Cottage is highly recommended! We also LOVED Quincy!

My husband and I just returned from celebrating our anniversary in St. John at Sol Cottage. It was truly paradise! The cottage is exactly like the pictures show - super clean and comfortable. I loved the loft with the spiral stairs and the outdoor shower (which was really interesting in the rain!) The owner was very nice and even though he lives right on the property, the cottage feels private. The island had amazing beaches, great hiking, the best snorkeling, fun little bars, and great restaurants. Plus, the money we saved by staying at Sol Cottage instead of a big resort meant more fun on the island for us! We loved St. John and Sol Cottage, and hope be able to go back for our next anniversary!

My wife and I stayed here in July of 2009. We found this online and arranged to stay for a week. We rented a Jeep and traveled the island by day going beach to beach on our whim. Owner was plesant and met us at Cruz Bay and lead us back to the Cottage in our Rental Car, FYI there is a private space to park at the cottage. Grocery store is along the way to town and the FREE use of the gas grill made it easy to cook up burgers at night. Sounds like a little thing but the grill made food easy. Who doesnt love to grill out. Stairs up to second floor are tight so this may not be for the over weight traveler. Best value if you like to be independant why on the island. If you just want a place to spend the night and recharge for another day at the beach this is the best way to go.

We stayed here in November of 2009. It was everything and more in what we were looking for in a place to stay on St. John. The area is quiet, but not much more than a 10 minute drive to Cruz Bay. The cottage was in very good shape and clean. I definitely plan on returning to St. John in the future, and would like to stay here, again.

Wow, St. John and SOL Cottage are amazing. We stayed there for a week in April and had the best time. The quiet side of the island is great. We rented a jeep and brought it over fron St. Thomas and every time we drove to town or to the north side beaches the drive was breathtaking. We grilled out a few nights after picking up some fresh fish and chilled out with Quincy, the best dog in fish bay. Marc is genuinely sincere and enjoys living in St. John, Thanks again Marc and hope to see you soon. Amy & Brian

Sol Cottage is a place to slow down and adjust to "island time". A comfortable place at a very reasonable rate. Close enough to town, yet on the quieter side of the island. We’ve stayed here as a couple in the past and with our daughter recently. The new fold-out is very comfortable and a nice addition to the cottage. Marc really cares for the people that stay at Sol. He is there if you need him and respects your privacy as well. Quincy (part of the family) will help you find your way to and from the beach nearby, and keep an eye on things when you’re away. Sol Cottage is something special.

We loved our 2008 experience at Sol Cottage so much that we came back this year to be married at Trunk Bay! This little turquoise cottage is a magical place for a vacation or a honeymoon- very cool interior design touches (the outdoor shower and screened porch), lush landscaping complete with fruit-producing banana plants, close proximity to awesome snorkeling (Ditleff Beach), and also not far from Cruz Bay. The owner, Marc, is a great resource for all sorts of information about the island and Quincy, the dog is a delightful companion. We are well-seasoned travelers who have visited St. John in the past. We have paid considerably more and stayed at a resort and then at another cottage in the past, but this is our favorite place by far - it is rare to find such great accomodations priced below the norm on the island. We just left yesterday and are already planning our 2010 trip!

My wife and I stayed in the Sole Cottage in December of 2008. We did our honeymoon a few years ago and were looking for a much more economical way to do St. John this time around. Simply put, you cannot beat the price! Clean, comfortable, and private, all for the price of a Maho campsite(seriously). Marc is super-accomodating and pleasant, and we made a new pal in Quincy. Perfect for the price.

Super nice owner, very helpful. Nice little cottage, very clean with a cool outdoor shower. Banana trees with bananas on it outside the porch window. Pictures are exactly as it looks. Bonus: A very cute, friendly dog named Quincy, who looks like a miniature yellow lab!

My husband and I just stayed at SOL Cottage and had a wonderful time. The cottage is cute, comfortable, gets beautiful light and is very airy and is also quiet and private. I ate breakfast every morning on the porch and read my book while my husband got an extra hour of sleep. We did a simple grocery shopping at the beginning of our stay so we had things for breakfast and snacks in the refrigerator. We rented a jeep and drove it to all the beaches and downtown area at night for dinner - the cottage is close to everything. There is a driveway to keep your car at SOL Cottage. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who is looking to stay in St. John and the price is very reasonable for such a clean and pretty place.

What a lovely cottage (new and very clean too)! The perfect tropical retreat complete with sounds of birds chirping and beautiful lush tropical landscaping. Staying here was a true relaxing retreat in paradise. A private beach was just a few minutes walk away - I walked this beach everyday and never shared it with anyone else. I would definitely stay again when I return to St. John! Thanks Marc for a lovely stay!

My wife and I stayed at Sol Cottage for 8 days in January 2009. The cottage was clean. It was also private. There is a refrigerator and microwave and drinking water. The owner is next door if you need something. My cell phone did not get reception in Fish Bay but it did in nearby Cruz Bay. The neighborhood was quiet except for daytime construction noises nearby. The driveway is flat (unlike most driveways on St. John)with a parking spot for guests. The road leading to Fish Bay is in good condition. The pictures posted on this website accurately portray the interior and exterior appearance. The price is very reasonable with a good value. I would gladly stay here again. David

We absolutely loved our stay at Sol cottage. The peace and quiet and lush surroundings made us truly feel like we were in a tropical paradise. The cottage itself was extremely comfortable - we especially loved hanging out in the morning, having coffee on the porch. Since we've gotten back, we've been telling everyone about the perfect hideaway we found in St. John! We can't wait to come back and stay at Sol cottage again. Cheers, Lee & Astra Titus

We are a couple that enjoy traveling a lot. Sol Cottage is the most lovely place we've ever stayed at a trip. It is super clean and convenient to access most places of interest in St. John. It is a romantic place for couples. The cottage is surrounded by banana trees and birds singing. Not far away is a wonderful view of the sunrise of fishbay. We really enjoyed our stay here and will recommend all our friends. Thank you Marc and Quincy!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sol Cottage! It is a very nice and neat place perfectly for a couple. The owner Marc is very nice and considerate. He has set different traps to prevent mosquitoes from attacking his guests and he bought a new microwave for us to use the second day after we reached. Thanks Marc! BTW, the price for Sol Cottage was the cheapest I could find in St John when I was planning our trip. We would stay at your Sol Cottage again when we visit St John next time.
