My family of 5 stayed at this whiskey mountain property for a week in July 2011. We had a wonderful stay. The home is beautiful, comfortable and well furnished. Dubois is a charming little town. It is a bit of a drive to the national parks but it is very doable. And it was nice to have this wonderful home to com home to after a long day at yellowstone. The owners were very friendly and helpful as well.

Staying here was wonderful for our family of 5. It was a wonderful place to come home to at the end of the day after being in the great outdoors. It was comfortable with all the furnishings and the owners were very hospitable. We enjoyed many things that the town had to offer as well. One morning our family just stayed around longer at the house and enjoyed the hill out back with its variety of wild flowers. It was a beautiful drive to the Tetons and Yellowstone. The description and pictures of the house are good descriptions of the place, and it was very well taken care of and clean. The big horn sheep museum in town was very interesting.

My Dad and I stayed for a week of mule deer hunting. The location is great for day trips into Horse Creek, Long Creek, Torrie Creek, Wiggins Fork, etc. One minute your in the wild, but still able to sleep, relax and make your own meals in a clean, very home-like western atmosphere - and even catch the Packer game - critical to all us Wisconsinites! The cabin was perfect, John & Lori were excellent hosts. We put our spotting scope on the kitchen table and watched sheep & deer and snow up on the mountain, but still were able to walk to the grocery store. Heck, we even had deer walking past the bedroom windows! You could not ask for a better location or better hosts, our experience was great and I look forward to return trips. Jennifer Nieland

My husband and I, along with another couple, came to Dubois to attend a close friend's funeral. We had been looking at getting 2 motel rooms then I Googled "full kitchen, Dubois, Wyoming" and up popped the Whiskey Mountain Cabin in the Vacation Rental By Owner, or VRBO, listings. This is ten times better than having two motel rooms and actually cost less. We made our reservation with Lori just a few days before arriving. She and John were very gracious and even had a sympathy card and a loaf of fresh bakery bread on the table when we arrived. The cabin was perfect for us two couples. Lori was excited about the 2 new rockers she'd gotten and they were great! We moved them to look at the TV or to face the couch. We used the kitchen to prepare quite a bit of food for our friend's family and found it to be well-stocked with everything we needed. My friend staying at the cabin was amazed to find a salad shooter in the cupboard. Other guests had left spices like cinnamon and garlic salt and that was nice to have on hand. We also appreciated the brand new container of coffee for the coffee maker! The only thing I couldn't find was scissors so I bought a pair and left them in the kitchen drawer as our gift to the other future cabin guests. (I use scissors a lot in my kitchen at home.) The cabin was very clean and lacked nothing. The price was very fair. The location is great and is right up the street from the only grocery store in town. The wireless internet worked perfectly (I had my laptop in the upstairs bedroom). We would definitely recommend Whiskey Mountain Cabin to anyone staying in Dubois.

This 2 story rental was perfect for 4 adults. Everything was very clean, attractive decor, and very well stocked! Like another reviewer, the upstairs bedroom is much larger than the photo. We liked getting out and exploring every day, but coming back to this comfortable "home away from home" at the end of day. John and Lori were very helpful and knowledgeable about side trips and places to see besides the obvious Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. They were there when we needed them, and in the background when we didn't. Enjoyed the Bighorn Sheep reserve, Union Pass drive, and the short drive up a road to where they used to have horse-drawn chariot races, and side trip to Lander - all recommended by John and Lori. Don't know if we'll be back this way, but would stay here again if we did!

We stayed at this lovely cabin during an expedition to locate a holiday Christmas tree and rendezvous with other members of the family. Cleanliness was outstanding and the beds were like new. We had an enjoyable evening in Dubois and were able to get into the National Forrest and cut an excellent tree. The view here is terrific. Thanks John and Lori!

My family & I stayed here during our dream vacation to Wyoming- Aug. 16-23, 2009. We absolutely loved this home. Having 2 small children, it was so wonderful to have the same place to come home to each & every night! The kids loved playing in the front of the house & I felt safe letting them do so. No traffic & quiet as can be! We really enjoyed the town of Dubois too & especially loved our meals at the Cowboy Cafe! We saved a ton of money by being able to eat our breakfasts at home & keeping snacks in the frig. We just went to the grocery store at the end of our lane :-) We were able to see everything we wanted from our home base at WMT! We went to Jackson Hole, Grand Teton N.P. & of course, Yellowstone! Lastly, John & Lori are wonderful hosts :-) The cabin is exactly like the pics only the upstairs room is even bigger! It was perfect for our family of 4!

We choose this cabin due to its location and great price. We spent a week at the cabin. John and Lori was very helpful and answered any questions we had before our trip. We went to Jackson Hole saw the Tetons and went to Yellowstone. Dubois is a very cute town. Our two young girls loved the walking path along the river. The town itself, is a small town that offers a lot. But keep in mind when planning your day trips to the NP to get over the mountain before the construction is at its busiest. But over all...the cabin has everything you would possible need to make your vacation a great one!! We will plan on returning in the near future.

I took my son to Dubois for a few days of rest and relaxation and we couldn't have found a better place to stay. The cabin is very comfortable and quiet. There is fishing and beautiful scenery in every direction and the people of Dubois are very friendly. I would definitely go there again.

There is nothing more enjoyable than feeling at Home while on vacation in a distant location. The Whiskey Mountain Cabin was "Home" for a week of fantastic side trips to the national parks and forest. The cabin fit our group of 4 adults perfectly, and is furnished superbly in the Mountaun decor. We plan to return again as soon as possible to this wonderful place

We chose this cabin due to location in Dubois. It is a great rental in town but super quiet, nice view. Very comfortable and stays cool during day. Dubois is great for outdoor activity wiht great hikes at Lake Louise and Brook's Lake, and there is a good grocery and sporting goods in town. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

My new husband has been to Yellowstone many times, so of course he wanted to take me there for our honeymoon. Since it has been awhile since he had been there, he hunted for the perfect place for us to stay. He remembered a little town called Dubois that impressed him during one of his travels. Not wanting to stay in an impersonal place as a motel, he looked for cabins and found the perfect one. This cabin has everything and anything you could ever ask for. This cabin felt like it wasn't actually in town, even though all you do is drive a couple of blocks and your there. There is nothing else that the owners could have done to make this cabin more perfect. The view was amazing. The owners were wonderful. My honeymoon could NOT have been any better. Thank you for my memories that I will always treasure.

I took my family on a Wyoming vacation in April. I thought it would be more cost efficient to stay in vacation rentals on our trip - along with it being more "adventurous" for our two kids. This proved to be a great decision - starting with the Whiskey Mountain Cabin in Dubois. The cabin was in great condition and exactly as described. The sunrise and sunsets from the front porch were astonishing, despite the April mountain "chill". The cabin was stocked with everything we needed - kitchen supplies, toiletries, bedding, utensils, etc. Above all else, it was clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend the Whiskey Mountain Cabin to any visitors to the Dubois/Yellowstone area. A good buy for the price - and two amazing hosts in John and Lori. We hope to see our new friends in Wyoming again in the not so distant future!! Thank you!!!!
