Or mix a cocktail in the adjoining wetbar! Then move to the back deck to enjoy Austin's pleasant weather. The home has a laundry area off the deck complete with 1/2 bath.

  • We stayed at the “Barnes Cottage” for two weeks this summer and could not have asked for better accommodations. The location is very central, but extremely quiet. The home felt absolutely brand new with updated appliances, furnishings and comfortable beds. The gracious Owner even brought our kids muffins on the first day we arrived! We look forward to our next stay.

  • We enjoyed our stay at the Barnes Cottage. The house kept the charming architecture features of an older home combined with tasteful modern design features – designer kitchen, bath, wonderful bed linens, and furnishings. The Cottage is convenient to the University campus and Town Lake and is located in a charming, safe, family neighborhood. I wished we had discovered the cottage earlier in my daughter’s University Texas’s days.

  • We had an AMAZING time staying at the Barnes' cottage. It really felt like home! The house is beautiful, clean, modern and updated and in an excellent, safe neighborhood central to the best parts of Austin. We had a baby, and we are so glad Jennie has a Pack n' Play for guests' use - it made our plane ride much easier since we didn't have to pack a portable crib! Jennie was a wonderful host (even providing milk and coffee for us), and we look forward to being back soon!

  • What a treasure right in the middle of Austin! 4 of us were fortunate to spend a long weekend together at Barnes Cottage and it was a delight: the restoration of this classic cottage is absolutely top-notch and the result is something both beautiful and inviting. It was always such a pleasure to head back to the cottage after days of hanging around Austin. Needless to say, this is the only place we'll ever stay in Austin from now on...

    We will definitely stay here again. The cottage is so comfortable, beautiful and in a great location. We love that all the houses in the neighborhood look different and quaint. We used the laundry room, deck & grill, flat screens and wireless internet. Previous guest have left pantry items and so we will...pass it on. Our teens liked having their own room to hang out in. Usually after a weekend in a hotel room, we are all stressed and annoyed with each other. WE LEAVE HERE TODAY PEACEFUL AND BLESSED TO HAVE FOUND THIS WONDERFUL COTTAGE. THANK YOU!

  • My son is a basketball player at St. Edwards University and because his team had games scheduled during the Thanksgiving holiday, he was unable to come home. So we decided to spend the Thanksgiving week in Austin. We wanted a warm and inviting place where we would be able to have our Thanksgiving dinner. This was the PERFECT place! The kitchen had everything we needed and the owners went out of their way to make sure we had serving dishes and anything else we needed to make our holiday dinner special. We entertained eight people including some basketball players! The accomodations were perfect; beautiful designer furnishings, comfortable beds with nice linens; Hardwood floors throughout, and the location is great! It is located in a beautiful neighborhood perfect for walks along tree-lined streets. Easy access to many restaurants, The Mopac, UT,downtown and shopping. You will love this place!
