Casa ‘La Quinta’
Come and enjoy this light-filled ‘hacienda style’ home located steps from all that San Miguel has to offer!
The house is on the Prolongacion (or extension) of one of our towns most well known streets Calle Aldama, which leads directly to the Plaza Principal, an easy six block stroll. It is 1 and ½ blocks to the newly refurbished Parque Juarez, 2 blocks to the Instituto Allende and nearby shopping and services- groceries, drugstore, restaurants and galleries. Sitting on the edge of the Centro district in Colonia Guadiana, Casa La Quinta is close to all you may need for your stay, while just ‘tucked away’ enough to offer some peace and quiet too.
The main level of the house features an extra large center courtyard onto which the majority of rooms look. It is filled with flowering plants, jasmine, bougainvillea and gardenias, and has a large center fountain and large lemon tree with very intimate nighttime lighting.
A formal living room, with fireplace, is at the entrance to the house where you will notice an eclectic mix of Colonial Mexican antiques and contemporary accessories. Up a half flight of stairs is the formal dining room and fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar. From here, glass French doors open to the courtyard and the surrounding guest rooms. There are high vaulted brick ceilings (called ‘bovedas’) throughout the entire home.
All three bedrooms, generously sized, have their own fireplaces with large en suite bathrooms, plenty of storage and two bedrooms include soaking tubs.
The second level of the house offers a TV/lounge area and an outdoor covered ‘sala’ complete with fireplace, should it ever become chilly, and dining table and chairs- a great place to unwind and take in the amazing sunsets of the distant Sierras and evening views to town. On this level, a roof terrace encircles the house’s ground floor with views down into the central courtyard and lounge chairs for daytime sunning.
A newly added and covered third floor terrace, with tables and chairs, offers yet another private retreat with unparalleled views to the Parroquia (our world famous Gothic cathedral) and all of San Miguel’s other historic monuments and streets.
Housekeeping services are three days a week for laundry, beds and cleaning. Light meals and extra maid service are provided, if you wish, for an additional, marginal fee. We also have a part-time gardener to tend the plants and grounds. As in any hotel, it is customary to leave gratuity upon your departure, thank you.
Our property manager, fluent in English and Spanish, can arrange any additional services that you may require and will provide the corresponding incremental costs. Maps, guides and a general welcoming package are provided upon your arrival, as are fresh flowers, a snack and a chilled bottle of wine. Your first tank of propane gas is also provided free of charge.
