Together with Apartment Sole located next door, the two apartments together can accommodate a maximum of 8 people.

We (2 adults and 11 year old boy) had a great stay in Rome, due in no small measure to this lovely little apartment in Testaccio and Sandra's attentiveness to details ranging from fun things for 11year olds to do, to how to get around the city. The apartment is as-advertised - clean, nicely furnished, maybe a little darker than we expected, but both rooms have windows to the street, so it's just the nature of the light in a ground floor apartment. The neighborhood is perfect and we felt very comfortable in it. Within two-three short blocks: homemade pasta store, great wine store, butcher shop, main bus stop to get downtown, multiple restaurants and pizzerias. Within 5 short blocks: excellent little supermarket plus traditional market. The kitchen is very well-equipped (we cooked several times); the AC does the job (if we keep the doors between bedroom and living room open); the beds are very comfortable (including the sofa bed). Only Italian TV, but wireless is fast. All in all, a real winner (and we've stayed in lots of rentals in our time). We'd stay there again very happily.

This property exceeded our expectation. It was clean, modern, quiet and well equipped. It is located in a residential area only a short bus ride into central Rome. There are a number of good restaurants near by. Convenient to local market as well as supermarket. Would stay there again.

We stayed in apartment Sole for 4 nights in September while on our honeymoon. It was fantastic! Prior to arriving, Sandra and Kevin provided us with useful tips and a pair of bus tickets. Both Stephanie and Carlo were very kind and ready to offer any assistance. The apartment is modern, bright and well-equipped. For foodies and those who enjoy getting a taste of a real Roman neighbourhood, Testaccio is the place to stay. We enjoyed cooking some meals in (particularly with ingredients from the market just a block away and from Volpetti's deli) and ate at some of the fantastic restaurants nearby (Remo's pizza and Perilli). We walked to most of Rome's sights and enjoyed the stroll. We would highly recommend apartment Sole to anyone.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Sandra and Stephanie were and are. The apartment was nicely furnished and the location could not have been more perfect. Sandra sent a wonderful package of information prior to our arrival and Stephanie met us at the apratment and spent time reviewing sights to see and things to do. The apartment is as it appears in the photos and is very clean. It is beautifully renovated and every amenity has been thought through. The location is charming and very quiet. It made our stay in Rome most memorable.

We had a great three nights at this apartment. We found the apartment clean, with comfortable beds, nice appliances, and in a great neighborhood. We really enjoyed the apartment after a long day seeing the sights. We loved being so close to the Testaccio market which is great, the supermarket and many really good restaurants. It was also nice to be in a relatively quiet neighborhood and away from all the hustle and butsle, but also close to the all the sights. I would definitely come here again.

We absolutely loved this apartment experience, Both Sandra and Stephanie were so helpful. It was clean, charming, a great location, and just as pictured online. Before we arrived, via email Sandra was so helpful suggesting ways to get around, websites to visit, suggesting things we might want to see, the best way to get there, places to eat. She even sent us a packet that included metro tickets and all the things we might need to know. Stephanie met us when we arrived, showed us how things worked, told us where the restaurants and markets were and answered all of our questions. We very much appreciated having a cell phone to use locally in case we needed to call Stephanie for anything, and we actually did have to call her for help. Sandra even arranged for someone to pick us up at the airport and bring us to the apartment. Testaccio is beautiful and we would definitely recommend this apartment and Sandra and Stephanie to anyone that we know planning a trip to Rome. We would definitely stay there again should we decide to return to Rome. Our experience was excellent!

We really appreciated all the information Sandra sent us before we ever left California. Sending us directions for the regional train, and giving us bus tickets made us feel at home almost immediately; we would not have been able to navigate our way without them. (We purchased and left two metro tickets in the apartment for the next guests.)We stayed in 'Luna.' We really liked the apartment. It was comfortable and clean and well equipped. It was very convenient having the cell phone there for local calls. We loved the neighborhood. It is close to the metro, and buses. And the open market was convenient and delightful; I bought fruits and vegetables and bread, and even some linens. My husband and I enjoyed cooking a simple meal after a long day of walking, being in museums, and, occasionally, getting lost. One of the incredible aspects of renting the apartment is Stephanie. She is so helpful, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Both times she came to meet us at the apartment were at our convenience; she never asked us to change our plans to make it more convenient for her. No question was too large or too small. She knew where every Caravaggio painting was, where to purchase linens, etc. She arranged for a driver to pick us up the morning we left Rome, at 5:30 a.m.; he was prompt, kind, and professional in every way.I think anyone who wants to experience a neighborhood, rather than a tourist enclave, wants to learn how to take buses and the metro, and "live" in Rome, for however long, would enjoy renting your apartment. That is not to say that the apartment is not convenient to all the wonderful tourist attractions; it definitely is. But it's great to also feel like you can relax and experience "normal" non-sightseeing life as well. Stephanie knows how to welcome visitors in a way that makes them confident they can be part of the neighborhood, and the city at large.

We loved the combination of getting oriented in a hotel and then staying at your apartment. Testaccio was a welcome contrast to the central tourist area. The food, shops, coffee bars, and people were great. Incredible daily produce market one block away. Your apt had everything we needed to "stretch out" and even cook lunches. The shower was heavenly. Stephanie, the local contact, was gracious. All in all it was great and would recommend it without reservation. Thanks!Tracy and Rick

We stayed in the apartment Luna in August for 5 nights and we felt like home. The apartment was very nice, clean, quiet and had everything we could have ever needed. The location was very convenient, close to the main attractions, but away from the crowds and noise. We found a supermarket only a block away and a local market two blocks away from the apartment which was very convenient and saved us a few $$ since we ate our breakfasts at home. Sandra and Stefanie were always very helpful (thank you very much ladies!). The information provided by Sandra before our trip and in the apartment helped us to enjoy the city and everything it offers even more. I will definitely recommend this wonderful apartment to my friends and I will definitely stay there again if I go back. Val and Stan

We had a wonderful stay at Luna in July. The apartment is so well located - with many buses to all directions of the city just one block away. The local market is a highlight. The neighborhood has wonderful shops (Volpetti - expensive but wonderful deli/foodstuffs), and restaurants. Be sure to book in advance - even if they look empty early in the evening - by 9pm they are packed. Sandra's info packet was a great help, and Stefanie went out of her way to be of help to us in Rome. It was great to have the apartment to return to (and its A/C!) after long days of sightseeing. We definitely want to return. Many thanks!

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 2003

About the owner: My wife Sandra, who is from Rome, and I (Irish) have travelled widely throughout the world and we have come to understand the standard and service that people expect from holiday rentals. This is after all your holiday so everything should work, be clean, well located and above all contribute to making your holiday more enjoyable. Stefanie will meet you on your arrival at the apartment. She is an ex flight attendant and is fluent in English, Italian, German and French. She is also extremely knowledge on the area and Rome in general and will be looking after you during your stay.

Why the Owner Chose Aventino Testaccio:
My wife grew up in Rome and I myself am Irish, We met in England after travelling overseas for a number of years we went to live and work for a year in Rome. It was during this time in Rome that we bought the apartment. We choose Testaccio because the area is within the historic centre but still has a great community feel about it: we wanted to be part of the real Rome. Testaccio is very close to some historic attractions but it is world apart from the chaotic city centre. It is a safe neighbourhood which is great for families. There is a fantastic fruit and vegetable market; lots of delicatessen and small local shops. There are also a huge rage of family run restaurants, pizzerie and trattorie where you can enjoy an authentic Italian meal ! What more could we ask for!

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
The apartments are really well organised and there is everything you need for a short/medium vacation. We think we have thought of everything from air-conditioning and dishwasher to the guide books, cookery books and even a sewing kit if a button is comes loose. The area also is fantastic: a great place to 'recover' after the bustle and noise of the city centre. It is a place where everyone can feel like they are living the 'dolce vita' !
