It is located in Playa Guiones within one minute walk to one of the best surf breaks in Nosara. Set back from some of the finest waves around, the only thing between Casa de Olas and the beach is a 200 meter wildlife refuge. Check out the Nosara Surf Cam to view the waves at our back door. The house is beautifully decorated with bronze details and exotic woods. The house contains a spacious and beautiful granite kitchen that is set up for entertaining! In this fully equipped kitchen you will find top of line appliances and exotic wood finishings. If you or your group desires, we even have a private chef available that can prepare all your meals!
Casa de Olas has 3 bedrooms, all with pillow top beds, and 3 exquisite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed, master bath, A/C, satellite TV, and is private and serene. The second and third bedrooms each have two queen size beds and one futon couch, mini refrigerator, A/C and bathroom.
The living room features satellite TV, DVD player, and stereo. The kitchen bar seats four, and the dining room seats eight comfortably. Outside, Casa de Olas has a large swimming pool and outdoor shower that can be accessed from the bedrooms and front porch. The house is also equipped with a washer and dryer, and a safety box. Maid service is complementary three times a week.
The house is incredibly safe and secure, and is fully enclosed by an electronic custom metal gate and wood fences made of pochote wood. Additionally, there are two security posts – one on the beach path, and one at the beach from the Harmony Hotel.
This luxurious house is ideal for large groups and can accommodate up to 16 people. It is also a perfect place for weddings, large family gatherings, and special occasions! Inquire about the neighboring house Casa de Olas 2 for additional accommodations which when rented together will sleep up to 30 guests in total!

Peaceful, private and serene, yet very close to amenities, restaurants and shops. This location is ideal for surfers as it's truly one of the best surf locations in Nosara. It is less than 200 meters to the beach, on a private beach path. It is closer to the surf than almost all other vacation rentals in Nosara. The property is home to iguanas, and a variety of colorful birds. The howler monkeys have also returned to Nosara after 2 years. Owner's Map of Nosara
Tim Siviter, age 48, is from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Tim began his first travels to Costa Rica in early 90's visiting various parts of Guanacaste surfing with friends. Upon a reference, Tim and some friends found Nosara and eventually stayed at the Hotel Villa Taype (now called The Harmony) and considered the search for waves over having found a spot with air conditioning, free breakfast, cheap rooms and a connecting beach path leading to the best waves.
For years, he offered sales contests for his employees in the US that, if goals were met, they would receive an extra week vacation, plane tickets and a few hundred dollars to spend while staying at the Villa Taype. No one was ever left behind.
Back when there was little knowledge of this now famous spot, Tim was fortunate enough to acquire the property next to the hotel (ocean side) and built a luxurious vacation home for his family and friends, calling it Casa de Olas (House of Waves). Sparing no expense, Tim built the first premier home of it's kind. He created a custom fence of panels made of "pochote" wood and iron to surround and create a private compound filled with gardens, mango trees, and a variety of palms (many 40' Royal palms) capturing a full Costa Rica feel of flower and fauna. Now fully matured, these gardens are full of iguanas, birds and occasional howler monkeys. Since then, he added a second home, Casa de Olas 2 located adjacent to Casa 1.
Tim's primary business, Regent Stone Products, sells fabrication tools and machinery for granite kitchen countertops. You can find many varieties of exquisite imported tiles, marbles and granites throughout these homes as well as other elaborate details and complete amenities to create a little paradise in a perfect location!
