Accommodations: Cabin, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5 Baths (Sleeps 10-12)
Keywords: Cabin
Great just for 2 people, multiple families or a corporate retreat! The cabin sits in the very back of a gated community on over an acre of land on the top of a mountain. The property is surrounded by pristine forest land owned by the Corp of Engineers - as private as it gets. The private retreat is at the end of a community road. And it's only a 1 hour drive from Nashville!
YOU ARE ONLY A 2 (TWO) MINUTE DRIVE TO THE WATER FROM THE CABIN!!! Most Center Hill properties are 15+ minutes away.
Our cabin has lots of room and has all the amenities. No need to bring pots, pans, griddles, plates, cups, toilet paper, towels, etc...it's all there for you! There's plenty of room for kids to run around outside. And we planned the house so kids could play downstairs in the rec room while the adults could relax on the main level. Also, we're at the end of a cul-de-sac so there's plenty of parking. And Center Hill Marina is less than 5 minutes away so it's easy to load your boat in the water. And don't forget the fire pit for cooking hot dogs and s'mores or even just enjoying a quiet evening under the stars!
The upstairs is comprised of a huge great room with windows everywhere, vaulted ceiling with wooden rafters and a wood burning fireplace. Including the great room, the upstairs has a master bedroom with a king bed, master bath with a huge, double head shower, dining room, half bath, washer/dryer and the kitchen. The kitchen has all brand new appliances, gas range, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. The counters are granite and our cabinets are made from restored barn wood. The kitchen has an island with bar stools that opens into the great room which makes for a great atmosphere. The entire upstairs opens out to a huge wonderful deck with rocking chairs, an outdoor dining table and gas grill. It's surrounded by trees and over looks the backyard which is perfect for a group gathering.
The downstairs is comprised of a huge den and 3 bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms sleep 2 people and the third sleeps 4. The den has a ping pong table, TV, DVD, sectional couch, XBOX with games and a movie collection. This is an excellent place for kids to play while the parents relax upstairs! There's also a door leading to the back patio and yard.
The house is located in a gated community with private lake access, a boat dock, a park, sand volleyball and a walking path. Center Hills Marina is less than 3 minutes away. Boat slips available for $10 a night.
Things to do: Enjoy the art community in Smithville, go hiking at Edgar Evins State Park or Rock Island State Park. See the waterfall at Cummins Falls. It cascades 50 feet over wide stair-stepped rocks into a deep cold-water pool. Take a canoe trip down Caney Fork River, shop at outlet malls like Lebanon's Premium Outlets or Opry Mills Mall in Nashville. Visit the new Nordstrom at The Mall at Green Hills in Nashville. While there see the night life on Broadway downtown. There's historic Tootsie's, the famous Wildhorse Saloon and Ryman Auditorium. See your favorite country music stars at The Opry.

Why the Owner Chose Smithville
We chose to build on this property because it's private and it's very close to the water. On Center Hill Lake you are not allowed to build a dock so most properties are a 15-20 minute drive to get on the water. When it comes to loading everything you need for the boat, that turns into a real pain and scary if there's an emergency. We are a 1 minute drive!

Owner's Map of Smithville
We are a family from Nashville, Tennessee with a baby girl. We love coming to the lake because it's only and hour from the house, but it's only so often we can get there. We love to fish, go for walks, take the boat out for a relaxing cruise when we're at the lake. And of course coffee on the deck in the morning is as relaxing as it gets for us!

This was perfect for our after Christmas get-together for our family of 10 (7 adults and 3 children). There was a bed for everyone and we loved eating "Walton-style" at the table with benches. The seclusion is great and there is lots of room for the kids to play outside, both on their scooters in the cul-de-sac and in the outside area around the house. Cooking marshmallows over the fire pit was a special treat for the kids. Thanks so much for helping to provide such wonderful family memories!!

Our family spent two days before Christmas at Lakewood. It was a wonderful experience. The house was perfect for out family. It had everything we needed, especially since we had young children. It was family friendly and well kept. We enjoyed the firepit the last night we were there. The kids enjoyed picking up sticks and roasting hotdogs and marshmallows. We will definitely return to Lakewood. Thanks for anticipating all our needs beforehand.

Eleven of us (9 adults, two teenagers) stayed at Lakewood for the Thanksgiving holiday. The cabin was easy to find, clean, and well suited for our needs with a full-sized kitchen for prepping a turkey dinner. The cabin looks exactly like the pictures. (There was a slight issue with water pressure at times, but I believe that is already being addressed.) We liked that it was stocked with family-friendly board games. We couldn't get the Xbox to work, so we had a ping-pong tournament instead. The fire ring was great, and we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows Friday night as the anti-turkey meal. The cabin was sufficiently private that we could sing around the fire without worrying that we were disturbing the neighbors. Burgess Falls was only about an hour away, and it was a great day trip. The park at the bottom of the hill was virtually deserted and was a great place for playing croquet and frisbee. All in all, a wonderful holiday! Lakewood is highly recommended!

Myself and five other ladies spent the last week of October in this beautiful "cabin", which in reality is, a beautiful house in the most peaceful serene setting you can imagine. The leaves were changing before our eyes as we had a cool spell while there. The owner is the most congenial accomodating man ever, as he arranged to meet us weeks before to assure us that we had enough room to have a quilt retreat. The "cabin" is fully stocked with all cooking utensils, linens and anything you might need. I cannot say enough positive about our stay there, if you are "on the fence", GO!

Great location! Very private, so when my girlfriends and I were laughing too loud we weren't bothering anyone! Cabin had everything we needed including enough wood for our fires inside and out at the fire pit. Owners were very accesible anytime we had a question. We had tons of room and all the furniture was very comfortable. Great reception on cell phones/computers and minutes from the lake. We will definitely be returning and plenty of room for 2 - 3 families. Gas grill and also marshmellow stakes for smores!

We rented this cabin for a quiet gathering with friends (2 families with teenage + ung adults kids – total of 7 people). This property is located on a very big lot with unbelievable privacy. House is much bigger inside than it looks from the front elevation photos. The sound system of the house is very thought throughout (it was nice to have music of our choice on the deck). You will certainly enjoy your morning cup of coffee and a company of hummingbirds who frequently visit the feeder on the deck. Overall this cabin is in a great shape, very accommodative, and provides many options for relaxing weekend. The property is clean and well-maintained. We rented pontoon at the Center Hill Marina (literally 3 minutes away from the house) and had a blast on the lake. We will keep this cabin on our short list for our future gatherings and definitely will recommend this place to our friends.
