Our Vacation in Myrtle Beach Sept. 24 – Oct. 1, 2011

This was our 3rd trip to Myrtle Beach. Our stay at Kingston Plantationwas a very good experience! Upon arriving, we checked in with a guard & then drove to our unit through very well kept grounds. Our first response was “Wow”! The unit was very large, open & beautifully decorated. Our group consisted of 8 people for most of the week. We had plenty of space & never felt crowded. The 1st floor had a large open living room/eating area with a screened in patio (we all loved this!) & a fantastic modern kitchen (girls, you will really love this!), the master bedroom with its own very large bathroom & Jacuzzi, and another large bedroom with a common bathroom w/ a washer & dryer. The open staircase takes you to a sitting area overlooking the room below. The 2nd floor had 2 more large bedrooms (one w/ a balcony facing the ocean) & a shared bathroom in the hallway. The beach is only about a 5 minute walk & is gorgeous!! We also had access to 5 beachside condos, their pools and restaurants. The plantation has another pool very close, tennis courts, sports center (costs $10 per/day since we rented privately), outside volleyball court, & many paths to walk around which include cobblestone-like sidewalks, beautiful landscaping, & areas of water w/ wooden bridges to cross. There was plenty of restaurants & shopping nearby…we enjoyed Barefoot Landing & Broadway at the Beach. they both had a lot of unique shops. We saw the Pirates Adventure one evening & would highly recommend this. It’s a dinner & fantastic show of acrobatics & fun. We bought our tickets a couple months in advance by calling & reserving seats & not only saved money, but got excellent front row seats. All in all, it was a great vacation & the owner was very helpful & a great person to deal with. Thank you!!!

What a wonderful home. Three couples shared this home...each couple has a 1 year old girl. It was spacious enough for the girls to run around and the bedrooms were spread out enough so that naps went undisturbed! GREAT location! Perfect walking distance to Embassy pool and the beach, right in the middle of 2 tourist attractions (Barefoot Landing & Broadway at the Beach), and of course close golf courses for the dads! Had a terrific week!!!!

Our family enjoyed an excellent vacation week in December 2009, celebrating a very special Christmas together in Myrtle Beach! This lovely place is bright, with lots of windows and ocean views. The heat works very well when it's cold outside. The beach is just a short walk away and during the winter, it's quite deserted, with lots of shells! The views are nice - especially those Atlantic Ocean sunrises. Very much worth the early rising! The owners have provided considerable attention to upkeep and updating the property. It's clear that they take pride in their beach house. The kitchen boasts high-quality, updated appliances; the furnishings are clean and well-maintained. A couple of small suggestions: The 52" TV is great, but there's no DVD player; that would be nice. (Each bedroom and the loft area do have TVs/DVD, however)... Also would be an enhancement to have a sort of central stereo/music system set up. But this is minor - most of your time will be spent outside, anyway - especially during warm weather! So who needs invasive media?? Also, the flush toilets could stand upgrading - but they do work OK! Please don't be deterred by the security deposit requirement - to us, it showed that the owners take pride in their home and care greatly for its well-being. The deposit is a good way to remind selfish people who disregard others' property that there's a cost to be counted. It's also nice to know that this isn't a "party place" for the rowdy, drinking crowd. It's a FAMILY-oriented property. This really makes a difference. After we checked out, we received our refund promptly (because we took good care of the place - which was very easy to do!). Lastly, we've rented several properties through VRBO, and this owner, by far, has been the most responsive and helpful. They answered each/every question/concern that we had, and provided lots of advance information about the property after we booked with them. There's nothing not to love about Windermere! We would definitely return to this lovely place.
Owner response: We have just upgraded the toilets and replaced the master bathroom fan. Will take putting in a DVD in great room into consideration. Have also considered a music system. Perhaps these changes can be made this fall!

Thank you for allowing us the use of your condo while at Myrtle Beach for our daughters wedding. Your condo was absolutely fabulous and exceeded our expectations. It was so spacious which was great for having room for wedding dress, veil and all the other wedding necessities. Kingston is a beautiful beautiful place. This was one of our best vacations. It was very relaxing. We had no reason to venture out to do anything but stay at the resort. The house is beautiful. There was nothing that we needed. The setup of the house was perfect for two families of four. We all had our own space and privacy. The decks were a great place to sit and have your breakfast while you read a book. Can't say enough about how sad we were to leave!!!

Awesome vacation property! Great location in Kingston Plantation, 5 minute walk to the beach. We have been staying at Kingston Plantation for years and by far this was the best rental. The unit is very well maintained and the decor added to the beach atmosphere. Highly recommend this property for anyone visiting the Myrtle Beach area. Owners were very responsive to initial inquiry and provided excellent details of the rental, truely a pleasure to deal with. Can't wait until next year!

Our family enjoyed our days at your home. We were sorry the trip was so short! Villa size and layout was a great fit for our crowd; the loft was wonderful for the children. Close access to the beach and pool was a joy and the keyless entry so convenient. If the opportunity presents itself, we will be back.

Our family can highly recommend this lovely home for a vacation. The location (2 short minutes to the beach), and setting(mowed lawns & landscaping) were a wonderful compliment to this spacious lovely home. We loved the screened in porch for cards & cocktails & the loft area was great for table games & computers. The 2nd floor deck has great views. The proximity of the pool & low rental tennis courts are a real plus. We wish we had the new kitchen with granite counters & wonderful appliances in our own home. It is truly stocked with utensils & equipment, in fact the best equipped of all the homes/units we have rented. Our family took advantage of the many miniature golf courses along Business route 17 as well as Brookgreen Gardens with a rich history as well as fabulous sculptures and flowers. This home was a 10 for our family.

August 3, 2008 It's hard to believe that two weeks have gone by so quickly- summer vacations here at the Kingston have numbered over 20 years now! Our family has grown with this place. By far our best stays have been at the Windermere condos. Your home is spacious, cheerfully apointed with all the amenities of home. I have yet to send any of the children to their rooms-they gravitate towards them! Another year, more good memories and a yearning for next summer's vacation already.

Dear Tallman Family, My husband and I and daughter, son-in-law and 4 grandchildren (16 yr- 5yr) were delighted to stay in your beautiful beach house. Your house is certainly a "home" -we all loved your decor. I have been coming to Apache Campground and staying with my friend's parents in their home every summer for about 18 years. Our 14 year old grandson played in a baseball tournament at Cal Ripkin's "fields of dreams" a beautiful complex. Our little ones loved the "bucket". All enjoyed the beach-weather was wonderful. Dear Tallman family, This is the 2nd year in a row that my family has stayed in your lovely beach home. We had a fabulous week and the weather was gorgeous. We enjoyed Magiquest, putt-putt, Broadway, Barefoot, and many tasty restaurants. We look forward to coming again next year and enjoying your beautifully decorated townhouse.
