Location: Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexican Riviera, Mexico (Playa Blanca, Barra De Potosi)
Accommodations: Condominium, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 7)
Beachfront luxury and quiet comfort just minutes from Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa International Airport (ZIH). This is the perfect place to put your worries behind you.
Our condo is a large 1800 square foot, second floor unit with a view of the infinity edge pool and the beach beyond. The master bedroom opens to the balcony and overlooks the beach. It includes a king size bed and attached full bath. The second bedroom has a king size bed and the third bedroom has 2 queen size beds. These rooms share a full bath. There is a fully equipped kitchen if you like to cook or restaurants are close by. A full dining room and comfortable living room which opens to a large balcony where you can enjoy your morning cup of coffee or a nice glass of wine in the evening watching the sun go down. All rooms have individual air conditioning units and ceiling fans. There is a utility room with a washer and dryer for your convenience.
The condo complex has a total of just 12 units. There is plenty of space to enjoy yourself around the infinity edge pool that overlooks the beach. The unit includes 2 pool lounge chairs and 6 deck chairs along with an umbrella. The complex is gated with a 24 hour guard and each unit has one parking space available behind the gate.
The beach is Playa Blanca, a 9 mile long deserted beach. The small fishing village of Barra de Potosi is located at the south end of Playa Blanca about 3 miles away. Walking on the beach, taking a refreshing dip in the infinity edge pool or sitting on the balcony watching the Whales, Dolphins and Pelicans are all great ways to enjoy your next vacation.
Barra de Potosi is an authentic Mexican fishing village. It is a great walk down the beach and a great place to spend the afternoon. There are numerous restaurants known as “enramadas” located on the beach in Barra. These are covered areas directly on the sand with tables, chairs and hammocks. The food is very fresh seafood. A couple of favorites are camaronillas and huachinango (wha-chin-ahn-go). These are crispy shrimp tacos and red snapper and are very good. There is also an enramada next door called Brisamar which is an easy walk and also very good. Chula Vida is a very nice restaurant just down the beach and is very good for lunch and dinner. It is one of our favorites. If you want very authentic Mexican you can find it in Barra de Potosi in the evening. Fresh tacos, enchiladas, and other dishes are available at a number of small places in the town. These are only open in the evening for dinner. The prices are right and the food is fantastic.
The condo is a short 20 minute drive to Zihuatanejo. Taxis are available or you can rent a car. Zihuatanejo offers great restaurants and shopping. You can also charter a boat for fishing, snorkeling or just a ride at the marina. Ixtapa is another 5 miles up the road and is a completely different atmosphere. It offers the large beachfront hotels and discos. There are also a couple of golf courses to enjoy in Ixtapa.
After your excursion to the more crowded Zihuatanejo or Ixtapa you can return to the tranquil, secluded setting of the condo to enjoy your evening. You will not find a more relaxing location.
