Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
As a retired airline employee I have had the privilege to travel the world and experience many different countries, peoples, cultures and sites. My first encounter with Croatia and the Croatian people came shortly after their war of independence and I fell in love with their new country and their nearly timeless culture. With the opportunity to purchase a beautiful home on a beautiful island looking out on the island filled Adriatic, how could I resist. My permanent home is in Atlanta and my subdivision there has more than twice the population of my Croatian village.
Why the Owner Chose Sveta Nedjelja
Croatians are a warm, welcoming people and a delight to know. Hvar is endlessly beautiful and filled with history and largely unspoiled by tourism. The local foods and wines are among the best in the world and by most standards, very affordable. What's not to love!
The Unique Benefits of this House
The view from the balcony is reason enough to become a life long resident. The blend of old Europe with the exuberance of a rapidly developing east European nation is exciting. Mix that with an inviting culture, natural beauty rivaling any place in the world, wonderful wines and olive oils, diving, boating, world class sailing, adventure sports, vibrant night life, and I find it difficult to imagine a more ideal home away from home.
