This house is amazing. We stayed here with our three adult kids and their partners for a week. You could not ask for a more picturesque location. We watched the sun rise and set from the floor to ceiling windows, watched whales splash and play every single day, and had dinner every night on the patio downstairs at an enormous wooden table. The house is situated so that even if there is wind, you seem to be sheltered from it. There are two lovely lanais, one is covered, one is open, plus the downstairs patio with lounge chairs. There are very few street lights around to disrupt the incredible starry view. The kitchen is large and well furnished. We love to cook and had a great time preparing meals together. Even cleaning up is fun with that view! There are plenty of towels and linens. We had to replenish the paper products. Spouting horn can be seen from the house and it is a short walk down to see turtles near it. We snorkeled at Lawai beach - about half a mile away. I can't say enough about this place. we would go back here in a heartbeat. As we looked around at other houses, we kept saying that ours was the best. I still think it is! We moved up north after the kids left today for an additional week. I miss the Tides house!! Only critique I would have is that the bedrooms downstairs are smaller - especially one that shares the kitchenette. And whoever is staying in that one has to go through the other bedroom to use the bathroom. Not ideal unless you are really comfortable with each other!

When we arrived at the home, we headed straight to the backyard and our jaws dropped at how gorgeous it was! Right on the ocean with the sun setting and an amazing view. We were married on the lawn and it couldn't have been more perfect. Dinner was under the lanai so we risked the weather without a tent and it went off beautifully! The view from the 2nd floor was amazing and we'd wake up every morning to the ocean, sometimes catching sight of pods of whales. BBQing next to the ocean is a nice treat too. The home was nice and homey. It would be comparable to a 3 star hotel in its amenities, 5 for the view, cleanliness was more like staying at the home of a friend who kept it clean enough, not immaculate, but after staying a week, how clean it stays is up to you. Yard crews come mid-week. Luckily they came the day before our wedding or that would have been a bit of a problem. The kitchen was nice and previous guests left a lot of things-food, lotions, books etc, that helped to make the stay that much more special. We stayed there with 3 people upstairs, 3 in the downstairs apartment (a little more plain), and a few people crashed on the day beds for a night. The pictures were pretty accurate though the home had a little more wear and tear than the pictures show. The listing was pretty accurate regarding location, It's in a perfect spot on the south and you really can see the Spouting Horn. It's an easy walk to the blow hole and close enough to the amazing Polihale beaches which are worth the crazy pothole adventure to get there and all the southern beaches and restaurants. Roys is yummy, the Grand Hyatt brunch is a must and snorkeling off Poipu beach was pretty nice. Perfect place for family picnics by the beach! Better than Anini for snorkeling, though we did get to swim with turtles there, as well as near the Beach House restaurant. Consider power gliding with Birds of Paradise too if you'd like a nice view from above! You need a car, but it has a huge driveway if you have a few families staying there. Besides the special memories we made there, we would consider going back to the home for future vacations.
