Testimonials:
Our weekends at the Harvard Road house were pure bliss--sitting on the porch swing to read or sip a glass of wine, canoeing early in the morning, hiking up into the woods, crossing the bridge at sunset. And then of course there was the fishing, the grilling and the wonderful picnics on the lawn. It's the ideal getaway.

This is our dream escape...We just ended up moving to San Francisco from Brooklyn in a last minute turn of events. Enjoy it the way we wish we were!
Why the Owner Chose Roscoe
The views are breathtaking all year long and being able to walk to take a swim in the river is priceless. Having pancakes or your morning coffee on the front porch is so very relaxing. There is so much nature to take advantage of in the area!
The Unique Benefits of this Farmhouse
One of our favorite things is sitting around the fire pit under the full sky of stars.

What a wonderful spot to bring together family and friends for our son's 30th birthday! The pictures are good but they do not do justice to the property...the house is very clean, bedrooms very large, bathrooms look to have been recently renovated so everything looks new, the kitchen/dining area were big enough to seat 13 people for dinner (we brought an extra table). And then there is the barn! Plenty of room for sleeping bags and the one bedroom in the barn is very large-bathroom is neat and clean. The owner was a pleasure to work with and answered all questions in a very timely manner. We did not really venture out too much, although one group did go into Downsville and said it is a very cute town. I would highly recommend this property to all-we are considering a return in the fall to check out the foliage!

My husband and I have rented this property for weeks at a time -- over two summers -- with another couple. It is absolute bliss -- the perfect reading porch, a great kitchen to cook and conversate in, and an ideal fire pit for late-night gatherings. Did I mention the river? Kayaking, canoeing, and tubing are all sunny day activities. And there's a State Park for hiking just across the street! It's a fantastic spot that's off the beaten path, and we love it.

We stayed here for a number of months and it is difficult to describe how wonderful and magical this place is. You simply will not believe it until you are there. The house is ideally situated at the end of the road, just next to the river, surrounded by mountains. Every moment of the day, everywhere you look, it is beautiful. It is isolated enough to feel like you are alone, and yet just down the road you have the sweetest and most helpful neighbors. The owners are extremely responsible and communicative about anything that might come up. Everything in the house was perfectly arranged when we arrived. The space is very unique, as you have the whole house, plus the additional space in the barn. I cannot imagine there are many places out there like this. It is absolutely ideal, and really an easy shot down to the city. We had to go many times during our stay. Whoever is lucky enough to stay here, ENJOY!

We lived at this house for a few months and it sincerely changed the way I live. The river, the deer, the nature. Beautiful. So much space!! So quiet! The next door neighbors (only two of them!) were friendly, amazing, respectful and helpful people, and it was a joy that they also happened to be the caretakers, and such good caretakers at that. The house is perfect, accommodating and charming, and it is the most absolute perfect distance from the city you could want. Out of the way, but just right in there. The owners were also incredibly understanding regarding any issues we had. It was a great experience renting this house.

My friends and I had a great weekend stay at the farm house and were sad to leave, we originally planned on getting an early start back home, but we didn't want the relaxation and fun to stop. We spent the days by the river, fishing and kayaking, and the nights grilling and enjoying a beer around the fire. The owners have clearly put a lot of work and love into the house, barn, and landscape. My friends loved the loft in the barn. Whether you are a group of friends, a few couples, or a family, I can't imagine not having a great time. Plus, the neighbors make their own maple syrup. How often do you get to have pancakes with syrup made next door? Also, the property is big and pretty secluded and at night you feel as though its just you and the stars (which were as numerous and bright as I've ever seen).
