Charming, renovated MOUNTAIN HIGH (one story) sits approx. 3000 ft. ASL, borders the Nat'l Forest and is easily accessed right off Hwy 151(paved road). The gated drive is lined by tall Hemlocks, Oaks, Poplars, & Rhododendrons, winding to the house and guest house/gameroom. Tranquil and private, there's plenty of space for the kids to play!

Hardwood floors, stained glass, stone walls, antiques, a window wall, stone fireplace (gas) are just some of the unique features in Mountain High. The recently renovated fully equipped kitchen(all new appliances w/ dishwasher) opens conveniently into the dining area where a large oak table looks out on the forest and hills.

Comfortable beds(QUALITY bedding)are a priority! On one side of the house are 3 bedrooms, 2 with queen pillowtops...Master has queen, Guest suite also queen - has attached bedroom with trundle bed(2 twin beds-1sides under the other). Off the hall between is 1 full bath. A second trundle in the 4th bedroom and 2nd bath (with washer/dryer) makes an ideal family setup...sleeps 8.
Across the driveway and down a few steps, the campfire site beckons eager children waiting to play in the creek or roast marshmallows.

50' from Mountain High is CREEKSIDE guest house/gameroom (one story) w/ covered screened deck overlooking the creek - 25'X30'"great room" VAULTED CEILINGS AND GASLOG FIREPLACE - PERFECT GATHERING PLACE FOR THE YOUNG AND YOUNG AT HEART TO enjoy activities from board games & pool table to rocking on the porch while listening to the gentle relaxing sounds of the creek...new fully equipped kitchen, full bath, washer/dryer, 42" HDTV with home theater...very comfortable queen sleep sofa, & new queen Murphy bed. This space sleeps 4. Porch includes outdoor dining and gas grill. 2,500+ sq. ft. of indoor space combined - Mountain High + Creekside.

The decks provide both convenience and a sand bucket for smoking. Pets considered on an individual basis with a $75 non-refundable fee.

WE SUPPLY: paper goods, linens, towels, a fully-equipped kitchen with quality pots and pans, microwave, toaster, crockpot, coffee maker, condiments and spices, salt, pepper, and delicious well water! Just bring is your food!

Hey Jan,

We had a wonderful time at your beautiful property. It's even more incredible in person. My son and his girlfriend fell in love with Asheville, and hope to move there later this year. I'm definitely keeping your contact information. If they end up moving, you'll be hearing from us frequently.

We loved being in the country, but not too far from the city. We stopped and bought fresh eggs from the house down the road. Once we figured out what ramps were, we stopped and bought some of them too. Smores at the fire pit under the stars was awesome.

All the extra touches were wonderful...guitar, harmonica, games, books, movies, and easy to follow instructions. We especially enjoyed reading about all your renovations and enhancements to the property. It certainly shows that lots of love and care have been put into your home.

Dear Jan and Keith,

Thanks so much for sharing your gorgeous place with us. You did a fantastic job with Creekside! And the area is gorgeous. We had a fabulous day hiking Mt Pisgah and seeing a few of the waterfalls of Transylvania County. And your beautiful home was the perfect way to start and end each day. From a relaxing breakfast next to the creek, with hummingbirds all around us, to an evening around the fire, we will never forget it.

All in all a fantastic trip. One we plan to repeat for sure!

Dear Jan and Keith,
We had such a wonderful time at your house, I dont' even know where to start!!! What a beautiful home, what a beautiful area!!! It was so wonderful! The house had everything we needed, it was so nice to be able to cook and have access to everything we needed, from pots and pans to utensils, etc. Everything was so comfortable, it was like being at home (although in a much nicer location! :) ) We loved both houses. The guest house was perfect for my husband and I and our dogs. We will definitely be using your house again for family get together's! Thank you again for your hospitality and kindness.

Jan and Keith,

We had our yearly highly anticipated visit to Mountain High and Creekside this year. The weather was perfect and the lodging incredible!!! We spent a great deal of time playing pool and sitting on the three season porch playing cards and games. We have never felt as relaxed as we do listening to the brook flow and babble!

The Stephenson's could not be better hosts, they give us a great experience every year, each one better than the last......
Everyone is already talking about our visit next April...Can't wait
