[To view videos of cottage and apartment search for mountshannon cottage and Cooraclare apartment on Vimeo] Two properties ,1st property [cottage ]located 30 Miles [50 km.] East of Shannon airport at Mountshannon in EAST CLARE. 2nd property [apartment] located 30 miles [50 km.] west of Shannon airport at Cooraclare village in West Clare .Cottage has open fire and oil fired central heating as well as heating blankets for beds.It is within walking distance of Lough Derg, one of the largest lakes in Ireland.Broadband Internet access is available and included in rental as well as all electricty,gas and oil heating charges.Patio area adjacent to cottage.
The beautiful island of Iniscealtra or Holy Island is a short distance by boat. Owner is a member of IMTA Irish Massage Therapy Association and has cert. in exercise and fitness from the University of Limerick. He is also a member of East Clare walking club an athletic club and IMRA Irish Mountain Running Association. Walks and runs can be organized by arrangement for guests. The following treatments are available Swedish massage, Aromatherapy massage, Lomi Lomi massage, Hot Stone massage,Indian Head Massage and Shirodhara treatment.These are available in treatment room adjacent to cottage and by prior arrangement in apartment in West Clare.See websites womenhealthdirect, spa section and website healthspaguru for details of treatments which are available at Mountshannon cottage and by arrangement at Cooraclare Studio apartment.
The scenic village of Mountshannon is 2 km approximately. If you Google Mountshannon you should get photos and information on area. For an aerial video of the area see UTube video entitled' Wandering Around Western Shores of Lough Derg'. There is a small harbour 4 min. walk from cottage. From here one can pre- book a small boat trip to Holy Island or Iniscealtra [in Summer season]as its also known as.[ 5 min.boat trip] You will find photos and historical info. on island on Mountshannon website and on Holy Island Tours website . There is an 9 hole golf course and 18 hole pitch and putt club 5-minute walk from cottage. Native woodland park 5-minute walk. There are a number of pathways and walks here. In the village of Mountshannon you will find the Aistear park overlooking Lough Derg.
There are 3 pubs in village and a small hotel.There are 2 restaurants also.In the nearby village of Scariff [4 miles]there are a number of small supermarkets, pharmacy, bank and restaurants.
Killaloe is approx. 14 miles, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is a 45 min. drive. Craggaunoween visitor centre is a 30 min.drive or less.Shannon airport is approx.30 miles to the west.Limerick is 25 miles and Galway city is approx.48 miles.
2nd Property is STUDIO APARTMENT AT COORACLARE village IN WEST CLARE [See Cooraclare apartment on Vimeo] 30 miles west of Shannon airport. It is 5 miles from the beach. It has deck area to the rear, is in small village only 10 mins from beach at Doonbeg Golf Club. The apartment has a double bed and a double sofa bed couch. The vacation rental Cottage at Mountshannon is only 4 min.walk from small harbour on Lough Derg [one of Ireland's largest lakes]From this harbour it is possible to pre- book a boat trip [in season] to Iniscealtra or Holy Island.The rental is located over 1 mile from the small scenic village of Mountshannon in East Clare. The rental is 50km. or 30 miles east of Shannon airport.
The vacation rental at Cooraclare is only a short drive from the coast ,10 mins to the beach at Doonbeg Golf Club.It is also near Spanish Point and Lahinch beaches.It is a 20 min. drive to the scenic Loop Head Peninunsula.It is 35 mins drive from the Cliffs of Moher ,while Doolin and the Burren area are further to the north. The Killimer/ Tarbert car ferry linking Co.Clare and Co.Kerry is approx 20 mins. drive from the apt.
