Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2006
I was raised in North Idaho and have lived most of my adult life in Montana. I am an educator of mathematics, physics and English as a second language. I like traveling, meeting new people and spending time outdoors. I am a friendly person and enjoy conversation. So, do please, feel free to contact me for inquiries about rental and the area.
Why the Owner Chose East Glacier Park
I chose to buy this home because I teach in the area during the school year. The house was not purchased as a rental, but for my own home. I realized after a friend of mine rented her house out over the summer that people really enjoy spending time in a comfortable place while on vacation in Glacier National Park. Renting my house to them for the summer months also offers me the chance to travel for a few months during the year.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The mountain views and fresh air are unmatched outside of the Rocky mountains and the slower pace to living is beneficial for the soul. There are also so many activities to keep me busy that I am never bored. It is the perfect location for outdoor entertainment and exercise with a slower general pace of living and always something beautiful to see.

We greatly enjoyed our stay in this house. The house is easy to find in East Glacier and has everything one might need for an easy stay: a well-equipped kitchen, laundry, a grill on the porch, etc. It is a short drive from the site to edge of Glacier National Park/Two Medicine area, accessible to "Going to the Sun" drive and ~1.5 hr drive Many Glacier. We had a great visit to Glacier. The hikes to Iceberg Lake and Grinnell Glacier were particularly outstanding with many beautiful mountain sights and animals including bears, a moose, bighorn sheep, and mountain goats. It was great to come back from a full day of hiking to a comfortable home with the ability to cook a nice meal, wash and dry clothes, and rest up for another day. The house is very well maintained and attractive. Note, however, that groceries are much more expensive and harder to come by on the east side of the park so we were glad that we had stocked up in Columbia Falls (near Kalispell) before our drive to East Glacier.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

As written in a letter: Thanks so much for the use of your house. We had a great time in the Two Medicine area today doing the hike to Cobalt Lake. What a beautiful area you live in! Your hospitality has been greatly appreciated. It was just like home! -- From the WIFI, the amazingly well stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, bear spray and all the park info -- all was great! Your home is lovely and we really enjoyed our stay. We will definately call again if we return. Thanks for the bike info. We really appreciated your help with that! Again, thanks so much, we loved our time here in East Glacier and it was so comfortable here! Diane, Bob, Erin, Kelly and Rob

Stayed July 2009. This is a very nice home. Very accomodating for our large group (7 adults). Highly recommend anyone vacationing in Glacier National Park to stay here and we would stay here again on our next trip. East Glacier is a great town. The locals are very nice and helpful. The restaurants are really nice and serve a tasty treat of Huckleberry pies and huckleberry ice cream. We are glad we took the time to visit both the east and west side of the park because each has its own uniqueness. We also visited Waterton and enjoyed the beautiful Waterton lake boat excursion and saw a lot more wildlife on the two drives through the park. Also did a kayak ride on Cameron Lake which was beautiful. Our favorite hike was the Trail of Cedars/Avalanche Creek in West Glacier park which included cascading waterfalls and thick forest canopy ending at a beautiful glacier lake. Other hikes we enjoyed were St. Mary/Virginia Falls, Running Eagle Falls, Swiftcurrent Nature Trail. We also liked the two trails at Logan Pass but the dense fog that day limited our view.
Owner response:It was nice to meet you. You guys sure were a lot of fun to have around and I enjoyed bumping into you in town. Take care and I hope you can make another trip out to Montana some day.
