  Pros and Cons; this place has both. Pros: the owners are very caring about their property. They are well organized in collecting payment and giving information about property. The Kona Coast Resort is a pleasant facility about 10 miles from Kailua. The property is very clean and well stocked including beach stuff. The pool and barbecue are close by. The deck is large with a view of the sunset. On the golf course, so it is quieter than some units. Cons: so well stocked it leaves no place in the kitchen for groceries. Every surface is covered with some fragile/breakable object. Everything is clean but very dated, retro 1970. There is a 9 page book with instructions: no shoes (white carpet), no suntan lotion (upholstery), no laying on bedspreads (brocade). This is not a place for children or active young people. It is on the second story with an upstairs so the elderly would have problems. I had to clean the kitchen and put the apartment back into original condition despite paying $160 cleaning fee. It took 3 weeks and 3 emails to get back my damage deposit.

  Owner response: We are proud of our villa and know that our guests find our home spacious, quiet, neat, clean, comfortable and well equipped for a relaxing hawaiian holiday. We do provide a book with information regarding the villa, resort and Island for guests to know a few "house rules" and learn some interesting facts about the resort and island to enhance their time whether it is for vacation or business. The villa is not handicap accessible, but otherwise guests of all ages enjoy their stay and call our home theirs. Our villa is furnished (all pictures are current), with many new pieces, in a style to compliment the Island of Hawai'i and while driving around the Island one might think they are in early Hawai'i. Guests receive our policies before confirming a reservation and refunds are returned in a timely manner within 30 days after departure or after checkout Maid Service report is received.

  As we are residents of Oahu but visit family in Kona often, this is the nicest place we've stayed. Places along ali'i are just too noisy and we loved the quiet of the Condo. Very easy to walk to KTa or Longs for snacks or last minute Christmas Wrap! The Condo is clean, comfortable and well-stocked. Our 14 year old grandson had the loft room upstairs and he loved having his own space! Mahalo for a great stay!

  This is a beautiful condo, well maintained and very well equipped. The setting, overlooking the golf course with glimpses of the ocean and lovely Hawaiian sunsets is really special. Since we love eating outdoors, our one disappointment was that the lanai table and chairs made it impossible for more than four people to sit around and enjoy eating together. We have spent several vacations in various units of the Kona coast resort and this was the loveliest setting of them all. I would say that this unit is extremely well set up for four adults. All in all, a very pleasant place to spend a week or a month!

  This was our eleventh trip to Hawaii and this was by far the best place in which we have stayed. The pictures of the apartment do not do it justice. The furniture was extremely comfortable and the kitchen was well supplied with eating and cooking utensils. Everything was well maintained and scrupously clean. The longer we stayed, the more comfortable everything became. The owner was extremely easy to contact. When we had a problem with the wifi, she responded within the hour and worked to resolve the problem. We really enjoyed sitting on the lanai watching the golfers on the 16th hole as we basked in the sun. The condo's complex is in a great location. A grocery store, drug store, movie theatre, and restaurants were a five minute walk away. The complex, itself was also well maintained and contained pools, a fitness center, and a small but excellent restaurant. We had a fabulous experience and were very sad to leave after our month was up. We have already booked the condo for next year.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children.

  Dana and I travel a bit and this is unquestionably the most well appointed, comfortable vacation rental we've ever had. We normally cook most of our own meals while on vacation. What a treat to find all the ammenities here! The place is very comfortable, has lots of tv's and what not, but the view from the lanai kept us sufficiently entertained. I don't believe the online photos truly capture the luxury.

  Peaceful high quality home in lava land. This was a lovely and tastefully decorated home with high quality furnishings! The kitchen was marvelously equipped if you wanted to cook everyday! The lanai with the golf course & ocean view is to die for. My favorite part was the lanai and the study off the 2nd bedroom. I do think that the resort activities were very dormant...this place is relatively quiet but the kids had their own friends. No one ever played tennis or beach volleyball or goofed around in the pool.

  Mary & Jerry - What can we say but everything was perfect as always. We had family members staying in other units, but we congregated here for meals and fun! Although this trip was deeply heart felt as we sent our brothers ashes out to sea, we gave "Thanks" for our friends providing such a beautiful home away. Hope to meet you! Again, thank you.
