Nice house but... the phone has a loud noise and is not useable, the extension also didn't work. Cell coverage was almost nonexistent making necessary business calls near impossible. The oven didn't work correctly and there was no broom. We immediately reported these items to Victoria. Her response was to say that the group prior had not mentioned that there were any problems. She did have the phone lines checked but the problem was still there. I suggested that it was probably in the machine but she was not at all interested in getting it fixed or replacing it. Repeated requests for a broom were met with another order to search the house. We searched and searched. There is no broom in this house and no commitment to provide one. This is a nice house, and I had looked forward to renting it over the next years when family, as was the case this time, and friends visit. But given our experience with service, or lack of it, I think I will look into other rental companies in Bend. Susan
Owner response:Hi Susan, As we spoke on the phone, I did suggest you to look for the broom and dust pan that is in the home, I am very sorry you weren't able to find it. Also, I wonder if my suggestion of turning up the oven or perhaps leaving your casserole in longer in order to compensate for the higher altitude than you are accustomed to baking/cooking in as these homes are new and there wasn't a problem with the oven. After I had the phone line modem reset it was suggested to me that since it is a wireless phone, it was probably picking up a signal from another wireless phone? Since I did not hear from you again after I left two messages, I assumed that everything was fine. Thanks so much! Victoria

We had a wonderful time -- beautiful house and gorgeous weather. It was a great retreat for annual "friends" gathering. Bend is a lovely city, friendly and fun!

My family of 5 lives in Northern Virginia and we meet my parents who live in Boise, Idaho each year at a vacation destination somewhere West. This year we chose Bend, OR. WOW! What a great choice. We love the house, its perfect for a large family. Our 5 & 7 year olds loved rafting, fishing, swimming and visiting the volcanos and caves. We had some great meals downtown and at the Mill District. Thanks for a great destination!

Happy 40th and bachelor weekend fun for Sean and friends. We came from Austin, Texas, San Diego and Sacramento, CA, Seattle, WA and other places (Bosten) to celebrate the last year of singledom for our friend. Great place, great times, and beautiful landscape. VIVA BEND!

This was the perfect getaway for a birthday celebration with good friends. The cabin is so cozy and accommodating. Being so close to Mt. Bachelor was lovely! The 6 of us had a wonderful time and would find moments where we couldn't leave the home because it was so cozy! And our dog was just as happy. Thank you for opening up your cabin to us and our pet. We are relaxed and rejuvenated and will be back again! All the Best, Kim & Jordan Happy New Year!

We had a great holiday here and especially enjoyed swimming in the pool and lakes! As well as rafting, climbing Smith Rocks and many more (there is lots to do here!) Good shops and restaurants in Central Bend, great outdoors and view. The neighbourhood was very clean and tidy and we had a fantastic time. We all really enjoyed our vacation here. The house is lovely and convenient, plus the pool was a huge hit with our two young children. The neighborhood is well-kept and quiet, with plenty of deer, squirrels and a quail family. Every morning as we ate breakfast the quails went on their a.m. walk :) Bend is also a great little town, with tons of exciting things to do nearby. The amount and quality of outdoor recreation is spectacular. Thanks for loaning us your home! The Butheau Family

The Byfield family enjoyed your beautiful home and this lovely city. Your home was located in the perfect spot for us, we were able to access the bike trails by riding straight from here. It was also nice to have the pool to enjoy given the week of record high temperatures. We will definitely be back and recommend it to our friends. Justine & Connor

WOW! One of our best vacations ever! Hit i hard and tried to see and do everything but we couldn't because there is too much to do around Bend. Still, we got a guide & fished the Crooked River and my 11 year old son caught his first rainbow trout on a fly. Next day saw all 4 top waterfalls near by and actually got to walk BEHIND the biggest falls, even with our 6 year old twin girls. Highlight of the trip. I shuttled with Cog Wild and rode the McKenzie River trail and it rode like the No 1 bike trail in the US with really good and mellow riders (7 out of 10 were from Northern CA, Redwood City, Dublin) Next thing that night we drove 5 miles down to Deschutes in town and under the eyes of the resident Osprey (fishing eagle) I pulled a rainbow from the ripple just off the park's grass. Next day, it was off to see the Lava tube (Skeleton cave because only place a completel skeleton of prehistoric cave been ever found). Finished day fishing and catching more rainbows and white fish on the nearby Crooked River, after we saw Smith Rocks & its golden eagles visible from the parking lot. Yesterday we went down our biggest rapids yet (Class II and real III's) and with the kids (on Big Eddy w/Sun Country Tours) lunch at Bend Brewery (try the sampler) and then off for more fishing/catching on Deschutes below Dillon Falls. AWESOME PLACE. Bring camera everywhere here because you're going to want to bring some Bend home.

Thanks for the wonderful stay! 3 adult daughters plus 2 grand daughters-- plus Dad (grandpa) met up here for Father's Day weekend!! The girls drove from Seattle and dad came via his motorcycle from Sun Valley, ID! Visited the Old Mill area-- ate our way through "Bite of Bend" downtown -- went white water rafting, driving through town up to Mt. Bachelor, etc. We enjoyed eating out on the grand covered porch -- using your bbq -- and hanging out in the pool and hot tub! Great place for R&R here and your home (and beds) are quite comfortable! Hope to come back-- stay here again and go skiing at Mt. Bachelor -- we are a big "ski bum" family too! P.S. The Blacksmith restaurant was the perfect Father's Day dinner spot :) !! Thanks much! We had our three adult children, Kobe (the golden) and us. We loved running the river trails and exploring - Kobe was polite and after the river stayed out on the porch, happily viewing deer and birds. Another plus - we jumped on our bikes and went downtown, to the Mill District, up Skyliner to the top (great training ride all up, then an easy down 20 miles RT) and everywhere people are friendly, love dogs and seem happy just to be here. Cascades Lakes Brewery had both good food and great beer. Another plus -- the weather was warm enough to use the hot tub and walk back to the house without freezing. Generally, we had the place to ourselves. Thank you for such a lovely family spot -- everything was spotless!

We had a GREAT TIME in your house this week -- thank you! Our families (w/four kids ages 4-7) had a wonderful time skiing at Mt. Bachelor, enjoying the hot tub, and hanging out by the fire. Also, Bend is a fun town -- incredibly friendly, nice people. And terrific restaurants too...very good food and kid friendly (Zydeco & McMenamin's were highlights). All in all, a very fun week! Your house is beautiful. Best!

We are so pleased to have chosen this house for our Christmas and New Year family celebrations. The kitchen is amazing gaining high scores from the cooks and bakers. Our cozy house was the best to experience all the snow, high winds, rain and ice. The beds are the greatest! Awesome amenities - our 12 days of building fabulous memories could not have had a better environment and will never be forgotten with our movies and photos. Thank you for all your thoughtfulness and attention to details...as all were appreciated and hope we can come back another time.

Great house for a family Thanksgiving. We enjoyed unseasonably good weather and had lovely walks along the river and local trails. Kudos to Victoria for ironing out some initial issues. She is very attentive and responsible and the owners are lucky to have her managing their property. Kudos also to the housekeeper who had the house perfectly ready and spotless for us.

What a lovely spot! We enjoyed every minute of our stay! The house is beautiful and comfortable - great beds! The deck was perfect for grilling and dining -- very private. The hike down to the river trail and along the banks is breathtaking! We golfed both Lost Tracks and Widgi Creek -- both excellent and scenic. We'd add Chow, Bend Brewery, Pine Tavern (patio overlooking river) and Typhoon to the Not-to-be-Missed list! Thanks for a very relaxing retreat! Naples, FL & Bend, OR

Wonderful house!!! Very clean and equipped. Thank you for having the maps and info in the basket. We were able to plan our days with this info. The pool area was very nice. Most hiking trails we could do right from the door step. Extremely convenient. The Big Eddy raft trip we took was awesome!!! La Rosa Mexican food is very good - as is all of the brewery food. Old Mill Shopping center with the theatre is also very convenient. Thank you for sharing your home, The Poretti's Granite Bay, CA
