Stunning Home in Normandy, Ten Minutes to D-Day Landing Beaches!
This beautiful home and separate guest house can be rented individually and are in the heart of Normandy, called the undiscovered gem of France. The homes are nicer than any hotel in Normandy and only minutes from the D-Day Landing beaches. The location is central to: the landing beaches of WWII, 25 minutes to chic Deauville and its film festival, seven miles to Caen and award-winning WWII Museum. Bayeux is ten minutes drive away, a medieval town on a river and home of the famous tapestry of the Norman Invasion and 1066 fame. Take the Armagnac trail, the Camembert trail to learn about the regions famous products.
There are two properties which can be rented separately. The grounds are enormous and each home has complete privacy. The Manor House sleeps up to ten and the Guest House sleeps six. Both have free high speed wireless access so you can work while enjoying great restaurants and site seeing!
The surrounding village is delightful: find a weekly open market in the Church Square. Walk to the charming local bakery next to the Church, the patisserie, greengrocer, butcher etc. Beautiful grounds and gardens surround the manoir and separate guest apartment.
THE MANOR HOUSE (SLEEPS TEN): This beautiful home is surrounded by a large garden, wonderful for sitting outside and enjoying long meals on sunny days plus conservatory. There are five large bedrooms and four bathrooms. Friendly caretakers live in the original caretaker's lodge by the front gates and are available to cater meals, provide daily housekeeping, etc. for an additional fee.
The entrance lounge is a large room with a comfortable beige sofa and chairs. Guests enjoy lounging in this room or on the comfortable chaises lounges in the garden at the end of a long day.
The dining room with antique fireplace is on your right, decorated in French country style. An antique trestle table seats ten and gives the room a warm ambiance, for lively meals together during your stay.
The kitchen has all the modern appliances needed to cook a gourmet feast from the food you find at the local shops and open market. The kitchen table seats eight for casul meals. The kitchen opens directly onto the garden; a large table and umbrella mean you can eat outside on sunny days. The sunny conservatory is next tothe kitchen with table and seats ten.
Walk up the staircase to the first floor. The pretty living room is straight ahead, with large windows overlooking the garden. This room is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs and antique furniture. There is free high speed internet so you can stay in touch with home, work or surf the net to find activities and information on Normandy.
The master bedroom is to the right, with en suite dressing room and luxury bath, king-sized bed and tons of closets. There is a TV, with satellite reception for CNN, CNBC, BBC etc. Master bathroom is tiled in marble, with sunken bathtub, enormous shower, toilet and double sinks. All mattresses are new and the highest quality availabe.
Continue to the second floor to Bedroom Two with two single beds and en suite bath on the right white and terra cotta bathtub, sink and toilet.
Bedroom Three has a double bed and large window overlooking the garden. There is an ensuite bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. Bedroom Four has a double bed and is decorated in pale beiges. It connects to the bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Bedroom Five is on the far left end of the hallway, with double bed with en suite shower, sink and toilet.
On the top floor is the media room, with wide projection screen, dual standard DVD player and comfortable sofas for relaxing on when you come home. Our guests have raved about their stay here and in the guest house.
THE GUEST COTTAGE (SLEEPS UP TO SIX): This charming cottage is a pretty stone building which has been remodeled and beautifully decorated. Entrance is from the same gates as the Manor House, but it is on the left of the property with with its own private garden, lawn and entrance. It is charming and features Three Bedrooms, Two Bathrooms. The gardens are so vast that the two houses can be rented separately and still give privacy for each group.
Enter the living room, furnished with comfortable pale sofas and antique oil painting which contrasts beautifully with the stone walls. This is a beautiful room and great for relaxing in after a day of visiting the D-Day landing beaches or other historic points of the region. Find a high speed computer line (free) and computer to use. The small kitchen is a sunny room with every appliance and convenience you need for cooking and enjoying your stay.
There is a bedroom next to the kitchen which with 2 twin beds and a bathroom next door, with shower, sink and toilet.
Upstairs find bedrooms two and three, sunny and overlooking the gardens. The rooms are charming, under the eaves of this beautiful home. The master bedroom has a dual king bed and view which overlooks the garden. Spacious bedroom 3 has a double bed. The exposed beams and pale colors make these elegant rooms. The second bathroom is en suite to both the bedrooms and includes bathtub with shower, sink and toilet -- using small beige tiles from the region to contrast with the exposed beams on the ceiling.
