We looked for over a year at more than 50 residences to find the perfect London home base. Take the 15 minute express train from Heathrow Airport to Paddington Station, go one tube stop or a very short cab ride. You've arrived!
Private and Spacious Accommodations
Walk through the separate gate and front door of our Edwardian townhouse. Continue up our interior staircase. You are in a private, quiet residence. This is not an apartment complex with multiple units and anonymous hallways.
The reception room has three large windows and classic features marking the style of the late 1800's: nine-foot ceilings, crown molding, crystal chandeliers and period prints. It has a sofa bed for guests. The separate dining room, stocked with Portmeirion china, is a great place to laze. The eat-in kitchen has Bosch appliances, a washer, and a dryer. The two bedrooms, on the upper floor, are large and light. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and a convertible single bed. The second bedroom has a double and a single bed. The bathroom is vast, with a tub, shower, and bidet.
We provide wireless internet, a flat screen TV, a high-end stereo system with an ipod attachment and an assortment of guidebooks and brochures. And we take care of you with our own guide to the area, including local stores and restaurants, great walks, and easy transportation. We post this to you before you arrive. Email us with questions. We or our English property manager will get back to you promptly.
The Charming, Safe Neighborhood
Maida Vale is one of Central London's upscale neighborhoods. Our block hosts a parade of shops, with a florist, hairdresser, beauty parlor, restaurants, and delis, such as Bon Appétit, specializing in homemade croissants. Paddington Recreation Grounds is one block away. This large park has two children’s playgrounds, workout facilities, and a running track. Little Venice, with its 18th century canals, quaint pubs, and notable white Georgian architecture, is a ten minute walk.
Want to venture a bit further? Take a walk to two different, well-known antique districts and open markets -- Church Street (Marylebone) or Portabello Road (Notting Hill). Try a stroll to numerous trendy restaurant areas or check out Abbey Road, where the Beatles recorded.
Central London at Your Door Step
Our townhouse is close to two tube stations, Maida Vale and Warwick Avenue. You can get anywhere in Central London with ease. For example, Oxford Circus, London’s shopping mecca, is a ten-minute tube ride. Piccadilly Circus, the center of the theater district, is a twelve-minute ride. The Number 6 bus runs 24 hours and stops two blocks from our residence. It has the best City route – stops at Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, and Trafalgar Square. You can get on and off the tubes and buses easily with a travel card. Whether you spend your days navigating the crowds on Oxford Street, touring Westminster Abbey, or awed by the Tower of London, you will welcome returning to our quiet, safe oasis.

What can we say that hasn’t already been said? From the moment we arrived we felt we’d picked the best place to stay in London! Wine lovers should not overlook the shop next to Le Cochonnet. We loved London and hope to return.

We had very high hopes for this townhouse, and our expectations were not only met, they were exceeded. From the informational packet we received before our trip, to the great ideas for things to do, to the neighborhood guide and maps included, this wonderful rental was hands down our favorite place we stayed on our tour of the UK. There are even helpful notecards around the house explaining the significance of certain items in the townhouse. The bedrooms were both very comfortable, the kitchen was roomy and up to date, all the decor was beautiful, and we were so sad to leave. The neighborhood is excellent too, and public transport is very easy to access from the location. As much fun as we had sightseeing in London, I equally value the wonderful times in the apartment and walking around the neighborhood. Hope to be back one day!

You get the idea. This is the home you'd want for yourself if only you had a home away from home. I just wanted to take a little different approach from the typical review. Yes, the bedrooms, baths, living areas and kitchen are just as promised. And oh my...what a wonderful landlord Fatijah is. So all that you read is true and then some. But what people don't often mention is the wonderful neighborhood. Every day we arrived home to serenity, tree lined streets and great restaurants/groceries. After a fun-filled day of London tourist spots or country side train rides, there is absolutely nothing better than returning to Fatijah's home. We were only there a week and we should have stayed no less than two. Enjoy!

We had a really good time staying here with our four young children. There was lots of space for us all and the house had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and everywhere was very clean. There is a second loo which is always welcome. Coming back with tired children after a long days sightseeing, it was lovely to be able to get something very good for supper just below us. The house is full of books and guidebooks and there are lots of personal touches around the house such as collections of things with a note explaining about their history. All in all everything was lovely and I would recommend this townhouse unreservedly.

We stayed in the townhouse from Dec. 19, 2009 - Jan 2, 2010. The house was beautifully appointed and in a great neighborhood. The tube was close as were all conveniences. The local butcher got us a fresh Turkey for Christmas dinner and we enjoyed great coffee every morning from the little cafe across the street. On nights we stayed out too late - the pizza shop downstairs made excellent pizzas - goat cheese and roasted vegetables was the best. I would highly recommend staying in this home. We hope to be able to come back again.

We LOVED our time here. It was the perfect blend of a vacation get-away while also a nice home in which we felt like we truly belonged there. And that's how we spent most of our time: not so much as tourists, but as wanna-be locals. The central location is key and it's also in a nice neighborhood close to a couple little downtown areas and an amazing park. The layout of the home is very spacious--we didn't even use every room--but still very cozy. We made a couple of big dinners, with the windows open to the street, and took our time cooking different items from local markets. The bed was very comfortable and was some great sleeping. And the couple of lazy mornings spent reading there were very enjoyable.

This beautiful home was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Before we even arrived, Fatijah sent us a wealth of information about the townhouse and the area, which was a great comfort to us considering that this was our first time in London. The townhouse is even prettier than it appears, and is as spacious as described. The internet connectivity and the free phone calls to the states are invaluable bonuses as well. The neighborhood is first class and convenient to everything. My husband especially enjoyed being so close to the excellent park with its running track. Don't forget your tennis racquet, and do bring the kids over to the playground! The tube is just a short walk away, and the Bakerloo line is convenient to just about everything. Even the Tower of London (on the east side of London) was less than a half hour away. We carried Fatijah's guide with us everywhere as well as the map of London that she included, and took many of her suggestions concerning city walks, restaurants, and places of interest. After a busy day in the heart of the city, it was always so nice to arrive back in the calm comfort of the Maida Vale neighborhood and the townhouse. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone, and I desperately hope that Fatijah continues to rent it out for many years to come, because we would love to visit again and again.

A fabulous holiday in the perfect house: cosy, charming, tastefully decorated, fitted with all the necessary appliances, close to the tube, excellent restaurants and cafeterias. The guide provided by Fatijah was exhaustive and extremely useful as were all the books available in the flat. I loved going home at night after a full day of sightseeing. A holiday to be treasured forever! Thanks Fatijah, you are a wonderful person. Olivia, Jessica and Bruna.

We have just returned from spending a week with our 2 adult sons in this wonderful townhome. Fatijah was wonderful in providing us with trip planning information and ideas. We found the home to be perfect. We were even surprised to find that the sofas turned into sleepers which allowed for our adult sons to have their own space. The convenience to the tube was ideal. We will certainly share this with future travelers to London as well as hoping to return ourselves.
