The beach here is by far the main attraction. With the white powder sand and the crystal clear water you will see for yourself why it has been rated one of the top ten most beautiful beaches on the planet. There are excellent restaurants located on the beach next to Stanza Mare along with souvenir shops. The beach is never crowded here because Stanza Mare only has just over 100 apartments many of which are not for rent. Many of the owners keep their apartments for themselves as a vacation home.

What a wonderful place to stay. The condo is clean and very well stocked for your use. Linda and Vincente Rivera are wonderful hosts. Book your excursions through Vincente and you will go first class. We booked a Saona / catamaran trip through Vincente that was fabulous. Stores are close to condo. They just opened a new restaurant / snack bar next to the pool and the food was great and well priced. We are going back next year and I would not stay anywhere else but Stanza Mare.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Stanza Mare and Punta Cana are indeed PARADISE! This condo has the perfect location - narrow view of the ocean out one door and pool outside the other glass doors. We were there for two months,and have already booked a three bedroom beachfront for two months in 2012. Grocery store, bakery, and excellent restaurants are within easy walking distance. As well the bus system is a snap to use and cost 40 pesos. We used the buses to go to banks and larger shopping centres, although you can find most everything you need for groceries within two blocks of the condo. There is a new mall just opening with 60 stores, including a large grocery store we used a few times. Palma Real Mall is very pretty, and certainly upscale, price wise at least. For restaurants, don't miss D'Angelo's (Italian), Balacana (Asian), Outside In (just opened Jan 2011 with AWESOME lasagna), and be sure to watch for live bands playing at Soles on the beach very close to Stanza Mare. And the beach stores are always interesting, and pretty much right beside Stanza Mare. Carlos is the daytime beach guard and he is a great guy! He speaks no English, but still manages to communicate and joke around - slip him a tip as he works VERY hard for very little and is happy to haul down as many beach loungers as you want, to either under palapyas or water edge. Stanza Mare is a gated community and the entire area is VERY safe, just use common sense. There is only one washer/dryer for the entire complex, but over the two months we were there, we never had to wait to use them! I ended up having to have some minor surgery while there, and was very nervous (coming from Canada to a third world country), but the property managers, Linda and Vicente Rivera, drove me to Emergency and I promise you that Centro Medico has wonderful Drs. and was extremely clean and efficient - and I was there 5 times! Linda would periodically show up with some goodies she has just baked/cooked and was always pleasant and fun. Vicente and Linda also offer tours for those interested. We made many good friends, and cannot wait to see them again next year as most were all returning to Stanza Mare! You will not be sorry for booking here. We saw this owner's newly redecorated condo, just above this one, and he did a great job!! Only disappointments were: good wine was expensive; no view of sunsets (but sunrises are spectacular), and no BBQ (but the pool restaurant has one you can rent and this condo comes with a small George Foreman.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We had a wonderful week and found your place very pleasant. The "gently used" feeling was nicer than having maids etc. swarming all over us inside the resorts. I finally got my wife to take some golf lessons from her kid, over at the Cocotal course. Sunrises at the beach were gorgeous; and the night sky was super. We took many walks at night and never felt endangered. It was fun to watch Benjamen's guys shimmy up to the tops of the palm trees and trim them with their machetes. Thanks for all your thorough and cordial tips. We're unsure if Steve will stay down there for a fourth Winter 2009/10; but we'd be glad to contact you again.Did you find this review helpful?
