Rancho del Mar is currently undergoing extensive renovations and updating, incorporating eco-friendly features and the most modern comforts while maintaining the charm and amazing ocean views offered by this midcentury ranch style home. Special features will include wall-to-wall windows in the living room and master bedroom with french doors opening to the west-facing deck, radiant floor heating, walk-in master shower, both handscraped wood and concrete floors, kids' bunk room, dimmer switches, outdoor shower, office nook, wi-fi, and more. Even the furnishings are being updated for comfort and style. Our anticipated completion date is February 1, 2010, and we are now accepting reservations for Spring Break and beyond. Updated photos will be posted upon completion of the project.

Upon arriving, you will find this home immaculately clean and a welcome basket of goodies waiting for you. We are excited to be including coffee from Columbia River Roasters, the Oregon Coast's very own micro roaster. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, utensils, spices, coffee maker, even a Belgian waffle maker and blender.
The easy beach access one block west leads to a nearly secluded beach with tide pools at each end filled with starfish, sea anemones, and crabs. Grab the beach toys and head to the beach! At the end of the day, spray off the sand and saltwater with the convenient outdoor shower. Then head to the Arch Cape Deli and Store just a few blocks away...don't miss their delicious sandwiches, pastries and brownies!

Year Purchased: 2003
We are a family of five, children ages 5, 7, and 11. As an active family, we especially enjoy the opportunities for outdoor recreation that the Oregon Coast offers. Our children enjoy playing in the creek that dumps into the ocean in front of our home, searching for crabs and other critters in the tide pools at either end of the Arch Cape beach, surfing and boogie-boarding, and walking to the deli for a delightful, freshly baked brownie.
We live only 90 minutes east, in Portland, and are also avid skiers in the winter.
Why the Owner Chose Cannon Beach
Arch Cape is a quiet "suburb" of Cannon Beach. There is little public access to the beach, so it is often secluded. This quiet, yet centrally located beach appealed to us. Due to the outcroppings at either end of the beach, there is more protection from the wind and weather than some other coastal options.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our home is west of Highway 101, and just the 4th house off the ocean. What is surprising is the outstanding view of the ocean from the family room and master bedroom.
The recently added outdoor shower makes it easier to clean-up after a day at the beach.
We all enjoy putting together a puzzle or nestling up in front of a cozy fire.

We would definitely stay here again and recommend your home to others. The bathroom was well supplied with towels and my daughter loved the striped ones! We did have a splinter in the finger tragedy and were delighted to find a first aid kit. Thank you! The living room was comfy and has a beautiful view of winter storms. The supplied firewood and fire were very cozy (we have a fireplace at home and I use it often for ambience, heat and sometimes basic cooking). The layout is wonderful for people to be together playing games and chatting in the kitchen/dining/living room area. Even if someone is in one of the bedrooms basic conversation can still take place from the main area at a nice low volume. I enjoy that kind of closeness. The apartment is fantastic if someone stays with a little one who may need a quiet nap. Closing the doors to the laundry room really makes it efficient for heating the day space/bedrooms. Fantastic layout, warm and cozy, and the beach! Everything a person could be blessed with!
