A beautiful home with all the comforts of home and more. Views were better than stated, home large enough for all of us. 2 children, 1 teen, and 6 adults. Kitchen very well appointed, we took large pots, pans, and knives but didn't need them. 2 coffee pots a real plus for us. The beds were quite comfortable, and the radiant heat was a real plus, no cold floors. Lots of games, puzzles and books, great large TV with Netflix just didn't have enough time. The beach access was close and easy to get to, great kite flying time, lots of time spent just watching the ocean from the living room floor to ceiling windows. Just beautiful !!!! We will return. Just a few minutes from Cannon Beach and 15 or so from Seaside. Owner very organized and easy to work with, the concessionaire book had every piece of information we needed about the house and the area. Strongly recommended for having a wonderful beach, ocean experience.

We spent a wonderful weekend with friends in this spacious and beautifully decorated home. Even though it's not located right on the beach, the view of the ocean from the deck, living room and master bedroom is fabulous! The beach access is a very short walk away. The house is easy to find as it's located just off the hwy. The only drawback is the noise of the traffic when sitting on the deck but it's very quiet at night when one can only hear the sound of the roaring waves. The kitchen is very well equipped and the house was in impeccable condition. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks, Danna!

I stayed here with a large group for a girl's weekend and was totally in awe by how clean, bright and spacious this beach house is. There's a beautiful ocean view, while sitting in the living room and it has a nice open floor plan so you stay engaged while cooking, walking around or just relaxing in front of the fireplace. The beach is beautiful and secluded and is only steps away from the beach house as is a gorgeous hike up and into the woods of the Oregon coast. We hiked, had fun at the beach, went shopping and dining in nearby Cannon Beach and just had a wonderful time........ I very much recommend this place for either groups or a family who want to have a luxury weekend away to unwind, have fun and enjoy the outdoors!

An exceptional rental. The house is very roomy and top of the line attention to details can be found throughout the house. I came with a group of 6 lady friends and everyone was impressed. The beach is steps away for wonderful walks and viewing of the sunset. The view from the house is wonderful. Cannon beach is just down the road and such a great little town! We will be coming back.

We stayed at Rancho Del Mar over the Christmas holiday, and it was absolutely perfect. We had two families (four adults, four children), and the set-up was perfect for us. The house was impeccably clean and well-equipped, leaving no detail unfulfilled. From the toys and games to the movie selection, to kid-friendly dishes, everything we needed was available on-hand. The home is decorated beautifully and feels incredibly warm and inviting. Even with the tasteful decorations, you don't feel as though you're staying in a museum or have to watch your (or your child's every move). Even my two year old (who usually gets into EVERYTHING) was able to enjoy herself without me worrying about her damaging anything. And the radiant floor heating is fantastic! Very warm and cozy. I highly recommend this home, and we look forward to coming back soon!

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Rancho del Mar. While we always find being at the ocean refreshing, particularly during the winter, this trip was made even more enjoyable by the fact that the owners have done such a beautiful job on the house. We found it very well equipped with everything we could possibly need … and then some. The variety of games and books was quite remarkable. Kitchen supplies were well beyond our expectations. The fireplace, with wood supplied, provided a cozy ambience, especially during an evening storm. We also enjoyed the radiant heat in the floors. The beach is only a short walk away, along what amounts to no more than a small lane. While the house is located close to the highway, a fence was nicely positioned to provide quite good separation and sound insulation. All in all we had a wonderful experience and would definitely consider returning for another visit, but for a longer stay (a week or two sounds good!).

We had an excellent stay at Rancho del Mar. This home has been recently remodeled in what I would describe as a contemporary northwest style and is very beautiful, clean and welcoming. The beach is a short 2 minute walk from the house, isn't crowded and you can walk for miles at anything but high tide. Danna was an excellent host and was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. The home is the first house off of hwy 101 but is well insulated and the bedrooms are all on the ocean side of the house. I'm a person who is sensitive to ambient noise and I hardly noticed it. In fact what you mostly hear is the roar of the ocean reminding you you're at the beach! We would definitely stay here again!

An almost paradise

I fell for this home before I even got there, because the owner is very pleasant and kind. The house itself is just as advertised; clean, stocked, basically fully loaded. It's clearly been recently updated and I think it was done well. The mattresses, linens, etc. are in excellent condition. We had cold and stormy afternoons and nights, but the house was warm and the windows secure, also plenty of firewood. We cooked tons of food with the greatest of ease because the kitchen is roomy and well-equipped. Everyone in our group had a great weekend, and the price was right. My personal list of cons: - Too far from town. OK, it's only about 5-7 minutes, but in fall/winter I prefer the option of being within walking distance of the CB. The weather did not motivate us to get on the 101. - Lots of notes , signs, instructions, and general do's-and-dont's regarding the care and keeping of the house. To a certain I extent I get it, because it's a lovely house. At the same time, we're not children, and thankfully we didn't bring any because the incredibly awesome and appealing toy car in the pink room comes with a "do not touch" disclaimer. - weird, unmarked steps into the back rooms. My friend fell, and she couldn't get up. I'm kidding, she got up, but she was covered in bruises on one arm. - General location, i.e directly next to the highway and further from the beach than I like to be. The view is kind of ... little. But still, any view of the ocean = like. - not enough hot water, and we didn't even fill all the beds. All in all, Rancho Del Mar was a win. If only it was in town ... I'd never stay anywhere else.

Owner response:For potential guests, I wanted to respond to this renter's comments: 1. Arch Cape is a small community 5 mile south of Cannon Beach. Our guests choose Arch Cape because it is quiet and secluded, yet just a few minutes down the road from restaurants, shops, and services. 2. Regarding "do's and dont's" I email a welcome letter prior to arrival which explains how to operate the unique features of our home such as the infloor heat system, trash compactor, and exterior sensor light. If you would like to see a copy of this in advance to reserving this home, please just ask. The note on the cute pink car actually says "I'm old and tired. I'm great for photos and sitting in, but not good at giving rides anymore. Thanks for letting me rest!" 3. This is basically a ranch style home, but there is one step down into 3 of the 4 bedrooms. Each time I respond to an inquiry, I attach a floorplan which shows where each step is located. I also have an area rug in front of each step to draw attention to this detail. 4. Our home is the 4th home off the ocean...literally a 2 minute leisurely walk to the end of the street. It is located 50 feet off the highway with mature pine trees, shrubbery, and a fence providing a barrier. 5. The photos on vrbo are exactly as you will see things from the house...I have not used a zoom lens to make the ocean seem closer or more expansive than it already is. You can be the judge as to whether the view is "little." 6. I have had 76 separate reservations (with groups ranging 4-12 guests) since our remodel was complete in April 2010. I have never had a comment that there wasn't enough hot water, so I'm not sure what happened this time. I think you can read from the comments left by our other guests that I take the comfort of each guest who stays at Rancho del Mar very seriously. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions as I will attempt to answer honestly and accurately to make sure you are finding accommodations that will suite you perfectly!

I have rented many homes from VRBO but never one like this. Every detail in the house was immaculate and elegantly designed. The home is spacious and allowed for a very comfortable stay. The walk to the beach was short and the surrounding areas very pleasant. The owner had great communication and was very easy to work with. We are already planning out next visit to this amazing property.

Great place for both families and girls getaway weekend! Our was a girls get away weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home! There was plenty of room at the large dining room table to sit and all have breakfast together and dinner. The living room was very nice and comfortable for talking and putting together a puzzle on the big coffee table. It was located very close to if you wanted quickly drive into Cannon Beach. The beach access was a quick walk down the street. We spent a lot of time at the beach really enjoyed the outside sink so we could wash off our shells and shoes if need be before bringing them into the home. The home was immaculate when we got there and there were plenty of towels and everything we could think of that we needed. Danna was amazing to work with! Thanks again Danna for opening up your home to us! We all will be back and hope to plan on making this a yearly trip that we do! I hope to bring my nephews and family there sometime too!

We brought our entire family down to Rancho Del Mar in early October and simply loved it. Everyone's reaction upon walking into the home was "Woa!" Its spacious and modern, but still very homey. Bedrooms are well situated so that everyone had their own private space. We also rented Beach Pines Bungalow (VRBO #173493) next door to accommodate our entire group - which was super convenient. We especially loved the view of the Ocean from the living room and the fact that we could fit everyone around the large dining table. Eager to return!!

We loved this house! The property was clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated. We were celebrating a 60th birthday with a "Girls Getaway" and this was the perfect spot! There was enough room for everyone to spread out but then also cozy up in the living room with a big fire in the fireplace (with wood that was provided) and just relax! The beach access is close and it's a short drive to Cannon Beach for some shopping and dinner. The owner, Danna, was great to work with answering all our questions in a quick & timely manner. I would totally recommend this house to anyone wanting to stay at the beach!! We'd stay again and again and again!

Our family enjoyed our stay so much! The house was beautiful, and had everything you need to make a vacation enjoyable....and if you have children (as we do) you will appreciate all of the conveniences provided(high chair,sippy cups,playpen, kids room with toys and a T.V. ect.) we loved it so much. Danna was wonderful and was always quick to respond to all of our emails. I can't can't say enough good things about our vacation at arch cape! you will not be disappointed!

The owners of Rancho del Mar were wonderful to work with. The house is beautiful, well equiped and clean. The view is nice from the deck, the living room and the master bedroom. It is a great place for kids: sand toys, bunk beds, toys, dvds and kid friendly - not too many no-no's. The one big drawback for us was the road noise, as it sits right on Hwy 101. We had a hard time sleeping in the master bedroom because of it.

This place was ideal vacation spot for us and our family, two married children with 3 grandchildren, because of its layout, space and location. Therre are 3 separate sleeping areas so each family had their own space. The common area is large enough to accomodate all of us and our needs. The young grandchildren loved the deck and sandbox. Our kids like surfing so the proximity to the surfing beach was great, only a 5 minute drive. The beach is great and only a short walk away. The one negative is that it is close to the main highway so there can be some traffic noise especially when you have your window open.

The house was great! It was nicely decorated, clean and had a warm feeling to it. The view of the ocean was beautiful from the master bedroom. There were plenty of towels and extra blankets & pillows. The owner was quick to respond to our questions and very easy to deal with. The beach was a quick 3 minute walk away and the kids enjoyed playing in the sand and even went in the ocean despite the cold temperature of the water. At night we started a bon fire and roasted some marshmellows. Cannon Beach was a 5 minute drive away and we were able to see the tide pools there. We would definately stay here again and would recommend Rancho del Mar to all our friends!

Your beach house was perfect for my ‘partial family’ retreat. I am one of 6 kids. My mother, Michael (my husband) and myself as well as my two younger sisters with their 2 daughters and one brother-in-law all found we had lots of personal space as well as great gathering space for a wonderful time together. Your house is welcoming and comfortable. My mom said over and over again how much she enjoyed watching the ocean from an inviting couch in the living room. The kitchen had everything we needed for creating complex vegetarian meals and everything was very clean which was great as we grew up in a similar environment. We loved the bunk rooms with each bed having its own reading light as we are all readers. The whole house is decorated tastefully with plenty of extra towels and supplies. We hope we can stay in your beach house again one day. Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to spend time there. We vacation at least once a year in Arch Cape and have stayed in a few different rentals. This one is by far the nicest. The owner, Danna, is professional and very responsive. The house is updated and very clean inside and out. The layout is perfect for extended families and children. We brought grandparents with us this year and they had plenty of privacy. Our kids loved the playroom with tons of books and games to keep them entertained when we weren't on the beach. The amenities included internet TV (Netflix!) which was an added bonus. The house is close to 101, but is situated just right for enjoying ocean views from the family room and deck, and it's a very short walk to the beach. It turned out to be a really great spot for a comfortable, relaxing vacation!

The perfect house for a family reunion

In searching the VRBO website for a beach house for a family reunion, I kept coming back to this one because it looked so inviting, upscale, and appeared it would accomodate the needs of 3 families. Our families included my wife and I, and our son and daughter and their families, including our four grandchildren, ages 1 to 6 years. When we first walked in, we all were amazed at how perfect it was and spotlessly clean. The pictures did not do it justice. It was an ideal floor plan for our crowd, with impressive bedrooms and bathrooms for each family. The kitchen, dining area, and living room is essentially one large open area that is spacious, bright, and allowed all of us lots of room to lounge around, play games, cook, carry on conversations, etc. without being crowded. The dining room table was great and seats 10 people. The game room was ideal for the kids because it has a big flatscreen TV with a DVD player and lots of DVDs for kids. There's lots of toys in the room and the kids spent the majority of their time in there playing while the adults were in the living room. We were impressed with the quality of the light and plumbing fixtures, flooring, tile, etc. throughout the house, and how thoughtfully decorated and accessorized it was. It was clear that the remodeling done last year (2010) was major and there was no indication of any cost-cutting or skimping to save money - everything was well thought out, very nice and of high quality. The kitchen was especially nice, with stainless steel appliances, granite counters, and full stocked with every utensile you'd ever need. Never once did we need to go to the store to get something that the kitchen didn't have. The towels and linens were very good quality and the washer/dryer really came in handy, having 10 of us and after a day on the beach with the kids. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood of similar beach homes and an easy block from the beach. Cannon Beach is only 5 miles if you want shopping and touristy things. The owner was very pleasant and good to work with and did everything possible to make sure our stay was a happy one. It's clear they have designed, laidout, and equipped the house for their own use, but are nice enough to rent it out to other people, too. We would definitely recommend this house and are already planning our next reunion there.

Great Family Gathering

So many great things to say... We wanted to celebrate my husbands and mother in laws birthdays by coming "home" and spending it with the family. The home was what we hoped for and more. Besides being immaculate and beautiful, the best part was the layout. We loved how we could all congregate in the living room and especially at the table for meals and not feel cramped. Then if we wanted our individual space we could go to our "wing" it felt like vs. just a room. The rooms are a perfect layout for 3 small families. We had the masterbedroom with our kids in the pink bunk room right next door. Then we had our parents in their bedroom with its own bathroom. Finally our brother and sister in law with their two kids had the blue bunk room and game room to themselves. We will definitely come again! It is a 2-5 min walk to the beach with a little hill, but with our kids we didn't mind it. We love the outdoors and it used up the never ending energy our kids have. Plus the fresh air walk was wonderful. The other great thing was the communication with the owner. Danna was always friendly, very quick to respond, and accommodating.

Enjoyed the home thoroughly! Had every amenity we needed. Decor contemporary chic AND comfortable. Kitchen, living, dining so BEAUTIFUL! Huge living area with plenty of space for sitting and beautiful views out the windows. So thankful that the kitchen table fit all of us! Although it was a much needed girls weekend for lots of momma's as soon as i saw the sailor bunk room with toy area I kind of wished the kids were there, kind of :)

The owners have thought of everything from the little red wagon to the well furnished kitchen. No corners have been cut on comfort, amenities, quality, and practicality of design. Perfect for two families with children or two couples with lots of privacy for all. Beautiful deck with great view of the ocean. Best of all, owners are easy to work with, organized, efficient, and helpful. A short drive to Cannon Beach and all that town has to offer.

Spacious, Comfortable and Stylish

We invited a family of four to join our our family of five for a three-day weekend at the beach. We never felt crowded or overwhelmed by the ruckus of five children in this spacious beach house. The house was perfectly appointed, fresh and comfortable. Very tasteful and well-organized. We prepared all of our meals in the well-stocked kitchen. The house was just right size for everything: gathering together for a meal or to play a game, the kids going off to play in their rooms, reading a book and enjoying the beautiful view. Arch Cape is a great beach. Very secluded and beautiful. The kids played for hours. We also made quick trips to Manzanita, Cannon Beach and Hug Point. We highly recommend Rancho del Mar.

Danna, the owner, is totally awesome. She is very organized and coordinated wonderfully.....much appreciated! The house is gorgeous, super clean and well-appointed. I have never stayed at a place that had such a well-stocked kitchen. We cooked quite a bit while we were there and every utensil or cookware we needed was provided. Easy walk to the beach with easy access and a beautiful stretch of beach. The house has plenty of space and different areas so the adults can be separated from the kids, if need be. Although, we were there for a ladies' getaway weekend and didn't have any children, but the house would work really well for children. I would definitely visit again.

Perfect Family Gathering!

We chose Cannon Beach area for a family gathering and Rancho Del Mar was perfert for the occasion. It was clean, very nicely decorated and recently remolded, well equipted, and felt like home the minute we entered the door. The view from the deck is beautiful (we watched a school of seal bob up and down as they swam down the coast) with just a short walk to the beach. It rained a lot, as tipical for the west coast, but that did not dampen our spirits. We just enjoyed being together and the surroundings made it even better. There were 9 of us (all adults) and our granddaughter loves to cook, so we ate all our meals at the house. Every thing we needed was there and we never felt cramped for space. We definitely made the right choice and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. We hope to come back!

We had a wonderful time at Rancho Del Mar. The house has everything you need and is gorgeous. The view of the beach from the family room is great and let's you enjoy the coast rain or shine!! The beach is steps away and has a little of everything, a creek on the south end and cool caves to explore on the north end with plenty of sand and beach in between. The house was gorgeous, and the location was wonderful. The house was newly remodeled with all the conveniences that you could wish for -- a deck with a view, a playroom for the kids, a spacious kitchen.. We stayed with our two young children and my parents, and everyone declared it the "best vacation ever." The owners were very helpful and left a lovely welcome basket as well as restaurant recommendations. We had originally hoped to stay in Cannon Beach, but found that the Arch Cape location actually worked better for us. No trouble with parking or crowds. And Manzanita is a hidden gem just down the road. We would definitely consider staying again.

The remodel of the place is wonderful. It is a beautiful home. I would and have highly recommended this place to others. I would rate this 4 1/2 stars. Just a couple of things prevented it from being 5 stars, but I am sure they are upcoming improvements, and one was just our own worry. White chairs and new wood floors were a big worry for us at first with 6 children in the house. But we decided they must have some way of keeping those chairs white since we weren't the first to stay there. Not having a fenced yard this year made it difficult also to let the children go outside to play as it is so close to Hwy 101. I especially liked the large dining table making it possible for us all to eat together. It is in a good central location to a lot of great sightseeing and fun; and, a big enough place for a large family gathering. We could easily go into Cannon Beach, head north to Seaside and Warrenton for groceries at Safeway and Costco, go to Fort Stevens, Tillamook, and lots of other fun places. The beach is an easy walk--the rocks just make it challenging to get to the sand and when the tide is in there is no room for kite flying, but there are plenty of other beaches around to visit also.

My family had a small reunion at this beautiful home and location. We all fit very comfortably in the house and had plenty of room to spread out. We were a little concerned at first because the house is very close to the highway but much to our surprise and delight it was quiet and peaceful. Arch Cape is a wonderful location for a relaxing time on the Oregon Coast and close enough to the hustle and bustle of Cannon Beach and Manzanita to visit both locations easily. When next in Oregon we will stay at Rancho Del Mar and highly recommend it for any beach experience you are looking to have.

I have only the best things to say about my stay at Rancho Del Mar! The house has been beautifully renovated. A lot of rentals in the Cannon Beach area are old and musty...not this one! Rancho del Mar is clean, modern, and stylish. It feels like a chic hotel! The beach is a short walk away and we almost always had it all to ourselves. We were able to walk to the beach early in the morning and collected handfuls of sand dollars each morning. (Something that's not easy to do on busy beaches) My kids had so much fun throwing rocks into the little river that runs into the ocean -- it seriously entertained them for hours. It's close to Hug Point, a great beach for exploring tide pools, and a short drive from Cannon Beach. The house was stocked with firewood, games, books...everything you need to relax and have fun. Plus Danna was wonderfully easy to work with and prompt to answer any questions or concerns. You won't be disappointed!

This property cannot be beat. A great view of the ocean, a very comfortable and nicely appointed house. Brand new renovations make it a real treasure right now! Owner is a mouse click away with the free wifi and free long distance! Close enough to fine and casual dining, sights to see and things to do. What's not to like? To say ANY negative would be quibbling. This place is great! Hope to stay here again! While not fully handicap accessible, it is very workable for limited handicap situations. Our son is in a power chair. One step up and he is in the main level. One step down to the bedrooms. The owners have created a wonderful place on the beautiful Oregon coast!

What a wonderful property! We arrived to a beautifully remodeled and spotless house. It was obvious that you took the time to plan out every detail. There is plenty of room for a large family or even 2 small ones! Will definitely return again.

We would definitely stay here again and recommend your home to others. My family (parents, brother and cousin) really thought your home was wonderful too and made a point of asking me where I found out about it. We found the kitchen to be well supplied with pots, pans, utensils, and even some basic cooking supplies if a small amount is needed but was forgotten. The bathroom was well supplied with towels and my daughter loved the striped ones! We did have a splinter in the finger tragedy and were delighted to find a first aid kit. Thank you! The living room was comfy and has a beautiful view of winter storms. The supplied firewood and fire were very cozy (we have a fireplace at home and I use it often for ambience, heat and sometimes basic cooking). The layout is wonderful for people to be together playing games and chatting in the kitchen/dining/living room area. Even if someone is in one of the bedrooms basic conversation can still take place from the main area at a nice low volume. I enjoy that kind of closeness. The apartment is fantastic if someone stays with a little one who may need a quiet nap. Closing the doors to the laundry room really makes it efficient for heating the day space/bedrooms. Fantastic layout, warm and cozy, and the beach! Everything a person could be blessed with!
