beach and water view - Michigan Vacation Getaway Absolutely beautiful area to vacation. Something for everyone year-round. Enjoy crystal clear water with a sandy bottom, swimming, waterskiing, tubing, boating, fishing or world-class golf and large spa at the Grand Traverse Resort. Bike the extensive trails,or just hang out at the sugar sand beaches. Directly across from the state park there is a very large public beach that is enjoyed by all ages. There are also many other beaches throughout the whole area. During July, watch the Blue Angels soar through the clear blue skies or indulge yourself at the world-famous Cherry Festival with cherry treats and thrill rides. Spend a day at the Sleeping Bear Dunes on Lake Michigan, don't miss the views of little and big Glen Lakes. Interlochen Music Camp is closeby as well, with lots of wonderful concerts. Many famous artists have gone to this camp and performed. In August, don't miss the Traverse City Film Festival. Premiers and star sightings abound!!! Evening activities include beachside marshmallow bonfires, dining at one of many 4 star restaurants, or the adult night life at one of 3 nearby casinos. The casinos also offer musical entertainment. Of course, there are movie theaters in the shopping malls too. During winter there is always lots of snow so downhill skiing, crosscountry skiing, ice skating, ice fishing, snowmobiling, snowboarding and sledding are enjoyed by all. We recommend you bring beach towels for the beach. The beach in our complex is just a short walk. There are multiple public beaches throughout the area. We provide bath towels, sheets, blankets and pillows in the unit. We do not provide daily housekeeping. Our unit is in the Shores of the Grand Traverse Resort but we are not in the rental program of the hotel, therefore you do not have access to the healthclub and pools of the hotel. The Shores complex is located on US 31 where 72 ends. As of 7/12/08 the 2008 summer dates available are: 7/12-15,7/23-31, 8/6-7,8/11-21,8/25-31,9/1-13 these are booked on a first come first serve basis and require a signed rental agreement & 100 deposit within 7 days of booking. The rate per night is $150.
