  This was my first trip to the Puerta Vallarta. I can not think of a better introduction than the beautiful home-base at Punta Esmerlda. From the very first moment after opening the door to the town house, I was in postcard-like luxury. The quaint town of Bucerias is about a 20 minute, white-sand beach walk away. There are plenty of dining choices in Bucerias and I could have been content spending the entire week between the townhouse and Bucerias. As I had access to a car, I did explore a fair bit. I travelled to Chino's Paradise, Mismaloya, Puerta Vallarta, La Cruz, Sayulita and San Pancho (also known as San Francisco). Each place offered special, dream-like experience. I recommend you rent this place WITHOUT reservation! Have fun.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

  Spent a week at this beachfront home with friends. We ate at the local restaurants, snorkeled in the nearby Marietas islands, catered in an authentic mexican food dinner and enjoyed some time down in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. We started our days with latte's from the insuite espresso machine and made homemade salsa and margaritas in the fully stocked kitchen and enjoyed spa services in the comfort of our private patio.

  Just returned from a week vacation at Arena 5 in Punta Esmerelda, the place is amazing!!! Plunge pool on the sunny deck, super comfy 3 BR painted in warm colors with high end furnishings and features all around. Built in espresso maker, great stove, blender for margaritas, Weber BBQ on the deck. Almost didn't want to leave the town home but there are 8 pools in the complex to explore and the beach is seconds from the front door. I HIGHLY recommend this place. I'm already thinking about my next visit here...

  Fantastic home to stay and explore from. Morning and evening sun/moon views are better than in the movies. All amenities are as advertised; we had most our meals on the patio. We were also very fortunate to spent two hours (out of Punta Mita) whale watching; the humpbacks are a real treat to watch. Great beach and waterfront for walking and running! We're already looking at the calendar planning our next trip.

  Great place!! We spent a week at this Beachfront Paradise - and it truly is. A beautiful view of Banderas Bay off the veranda - completed with lounge chairs, a table for dining, and a splash pool. We tested four of the eight pools on the property and all were clean and very nice. The condo is well appointed with all needed to dine in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Very close to great restaurants without the hubbub of the "big" city. Highly recommended and we will visit again!!!

  We've been back for a week and I still have the view from the terrace in my head: ocean, city lights at night, a long curve of beach and mountains in the day. It's a cliche, but the photos really don't do it justice. The condo was terrific, especially the built-in cappucino maker, which I'm still envying. It felt very private and luxurious, with great bathrooms and finishes. The resort is unbelievable. We spent time at several different pools, besides the one on our own terrace, and got to while away a couple afternoons on the red couches you see in photos of Punta Esmeralda. The beach was wonderful for walking, and we loved the restaurants and little shops in Bucerias, which was about a 6-minute drive. This is a vacation my family of 5 hopes to repeat!

  This oceanfront home is absolutely fabulous. We loved making fresh hot cappucinos in the morning and sipping our margaritas on the patio in the late afternoon as the sun set. The owners here are very accomodating and have provided a very comfortable home.
