My husband and I stayed for three nights in the wonderful High Road House in Bisbee. The house was exceptionally clean, cozy and welcoming upon our arrival. Tom and Helen made sure that everything would be just right, from the high quality linens to the great muffins and coffee, eggs and assorted goodies provided. Fabulous views and very quiet - just perfect for any kind of getaway. We both highly recommend the High Road house and would return in a heartbeat!

Sometimes you go with your gut instinct and you are richly rewarded. I checked out a few places here and elsewhere on the web and there was something about High Road House that told me to stop looking any further. From the moment we walked in the door, we were delighted with the open and warm quality of the house. It seemed so spacious, light and airy. And it had everything we needed or would have liked. All it lacked was a lap pool in the back (joking!). There was a nicely equipped kitchen and even a washer and dryer. We loved the veranda and the small backyard where you could watch the birds and read a book. The stars at night were amazing and you could see them while lying in bed. Helen the owner was wonderful and greeted us on our arrival. She gave us many great tips about what to see and do. She provided breakfast items--eggs, milk, coffee, juice, muffins and bread---which were especially welcome the first morning after a long journey. The house was also set up with a TV and DVD and tape player as well as many DVD's and tapes. (Though we only watched TV for a few hours our whole stay). The Subys' book collection was wonderful. Histories of Bisbee, AZ travel guides, Eastern philosophy, novels and books I've never heard of. Great! I loved the choice of art work on the walls. And after checking out other guest places while we were there, we didn't find any that compared to the High Road House. We loved it and will return!!!

This house really does have spectacular views, particularly of the sunrise...a good place to be romantic or write a book. Very comfortable, everything you need..interesting decor (no teddybears!)....you'll be tempted to stay in rather than go out. Helen and Tom (owners) have an unusual background (met in Nepal, traveled widely) and it's fun to talk with them. Be aware that the street climb (car or foot) is very steep, but I am slightly handicapped and did not have problems with the 24 stairs down to the house. All in all, a place to return, and they have many repeat visitors.

High Road House is a wonderful place to stay! Helen and Tom Suby are friendly and gracious hosts who both helped to make my trip to southern Arizona quite memorable. They will go out of their way to offer assistance with trip planning and advice on what not to miss in the beautiful Bisbee area and beyond. In addition, Tom and Helen are two very talented and interesting individuals (don't miss Tom Suby's breathtakingly beautiful ironwood wildlife sculptures). High Road House is a beautiful house with astounding, panoramic views of Old Bisbee and the mountains beyond. My friend and young son and I visited the area during Monsoon season (highly recommended) and enjoyed the view from the house while watching the best thunder and lightning storms I've ever seen, often followed by the appearance of a lovely rainbow over the mountains. The rain was refreshing and never lasted for very long when we visited. Breakfast every morning in the sun porch while watching the many hummingbirds darting about the private, little garden was just magical. I miss the area and the Subys and highly recommend a stay at the High Road house.
