Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
We bought this home because of its location in the middle of Summit County which has every possible outdoor mountain activity within steps or a close drive. However, we had to have tremendous views but yet also be close to the ski slopes, great restaurants, and other conveniences like grocery stores, liquor store, workout facilities. This is absolutely THE HOME for that. Many homes in the area have great views but yet are far away from town (even 5 miles out of town can be a huge hassle during peak weekends with lots of congestion). Other homes are truly ski-in, ski-out, but they have no views, are very cold because they don't get light, and are really unappealing except during ski season. This is our dream home and we've enjoyed creating incredible dreams for our family, friends, and guests who have enjoyed the home.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Interestingly, we never intended to rent our home. However, when Julie got pregnant in late 2008 and found out that she wouldn't be able to ski during the 2008/2009 season, we decided that we'd rent the home (Julie couldn't stand to think of even being at the home and looking out at those ski slopes and not be able to ski them!!!). We had furnished the home as a true home and just as beautifully as we had furnished our Denver home - again, this is a 2nd home and wasn't originally expected to be offered for rental. So that's an important distinction - so many homes (and trust me, we've seen them...) are furnished as rentals first - this is a big difference and you can see it in the style of the home. That being said, our home is generally priced to be very competitive with all homes (even those that we would never even consider staying at).
In addition to the furnishing of the home and the views and incredible location, the other thing that you'll get from us is a 'personal touch'. We've rented direct from owners ourselves and have had some great experiences and some others that weren't so great - we get it. We want those that rent our home to truly feel as if they are our personal guests - they are. From our responsiveness to the inquiries we receive, to the questions we ask about what you're looking for in a home and about your group, to answering questions prior to your arrival and helping to give you a "leg up" on planning certain aspects of your trip, we always want to treat our guests like we ourselves would like to be treated. Its just what we do and how we are! Thanks for having an interest in our very special home! Kevin & Julie
Public, Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course (3 nines) - a world class golf course!
Restaurants, Bars, Ski and Sports shops - 1.1 mile from house (3 min drive) - and FREE parking - this isn't Vail!
Owner's Map of Private Homes
Julie and I (and our dogs Lyza and Jake) are both originally from North Carolina and moved to Colorado a couple of years ago. We're both busy professionals but love all that Colorado has to offer (so do Lyza and Jake). We love everything outdoors and particularly enjoy snowsports (Julie enjoys skiing and snowshoeing while I ski, snowboard, nordic, snowshoe, backcountry ski - pretty much everything...). Kevin's favorite sport is fly-fishing for trout and floating Colorado's rivers and running whitewater. So, you can see why we love our home in Breckenridge. We are getting ready to add to the family this year with our first child due in July, so we're also tremendously excited about that!
UPDATE: We now have a son - Jackson - who is nearly 2 yrs old and part of the family. (Julie tells me that he can't snowboard off the garage roof like I do for at least a couple of years...)

Wow what a wonderful home to stay in on our Breckenridge get-away this summer. There was so much room for our family of 5 and we could easily have asked friends to join us since there is so much space. The home is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. Everything we needed was there and more. Kevin and Julie were so helpful and quick to respond to several questions during our visit. Thanks for the great accomodations and we look forward to a return visit next year. Anne, Rick and family
Owner response:Anne & Rick - that's what we like to hear! While we knew you would have a great time - we're glad to hear that you did! We hope you'll return - you were great guests! Kevin & Julie

We stayed at this beautiful home for our first family ski trip. Our family of five had more than enough room to relax and enjoy beautiful Breck! We found it to be even better than the photos. You will not find more breathtaking views of the mountain...talk about inspiring! The house is cozy, comfortable and clean, and those beds feel great after a day of skiing or dogsledding! The location of this house allows you to access the ski mountain, grocery and liquor stores, restaurants and the downtown village in minutes. However we found we wanted to stay home and cook in this gorgeous kitchen most nights and enjoy the mountain views from the comfort of home. We loved this place and hope to return this year!
Owner response:We're so happy you guys had a great time - your description is exactly how we view the home! We sure hope you'll return again! Thanks, Kevin & Julie

Our family (of 4) stayed here with another family (of 4) very comfortably. The house was extremely clean, beautifully decorated, the rooms were spacious & beds were super comfortable! Everything in the house was top notch from the amazing kitchen, to the cozy fireplaces(upstairs & down), to the fabulous outdoor hot tub with an incredible view of the mountain! Sunrise and sunset views from the deck were spiritual- especially with drink in hand! Super easy to get around town- everything is literally 5 minutes away. Does not feel like you're staying in a "rental". We will definitely be back to stay. Many thanks!
Owner response:Thanks for the comments - we love and appreciate them!!! We've spent the summer making some improvements on the house and can't wait to share them with family, friends, and guests! Kevin & Julie (PS: As we write this response, we are getting the first big snow of the year at the house - we are hoping for another big snow year like last!)

What a great house! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views are spectacular! We loved being able to make our skiing plans for each day while actually looking out the huge windows at the peaks we would later ski! And the house is so convenient to the ski areas as well as the charming village shops and restaurants. I can't imagine a better location. The house itself was so comfortable and welcoming. The kitchen is beautiful- a real cook's kitchen that makes feeding a crowd so easy. The kids loved the bunk beds and we all loved the hot tub. I think you've thought of everything to make the perfect vacation! Thank you!

Kevin & Julie: Our two families had a fantastic time in Breckenridge and at your home! Your prompt and personal help from the day we contacted you right up and through when received that wonderful gift - THANKS! - following our trip was just incredible. What a beautiful home you have - and that location is JUST SO PERFECT!!! It really felt as if it were our home - so comfortable, inviting, and with all of the extras that we would have (if we were so lucky to have a home in Breckenridge). We are all picky and this was simply perfect!!!! We hated leaving beautiful Breckenridge and are SO SO HAPPY that we picked this home - we can't wait to return again! We had a great time borrowing this great home! The view was spectacular and the location was very convenient to the slopes and town. All the little extras made our stay so much easier. We had 4 teanagers with us and the house more than accomodated all of us. After a tiring day on the slopes, it was great to soak in the hot tub and enjoy the view of the mountain. We would definitely rent again.
