The condo is in a pretty, quiet location but if you like alot of activities, beach stores, shopping, restaurants or have teens you will probably want to stay in Destin or Panama City. The owners were very nice and easy to contact. The wi-fi is not adequate, I needed to work one day and I brought a laptop and IPAD and kept getting booted off, or the connection was slow or you couldn't get on at all. We called the help number for wifi and they said it was because of weather and high usage. We ended up exceeding three of our cell phones internet usage and were billed for $60.00 in excess just so we could get on the internet, find out about restaurants, etc. Too much light comes in the bedrooms from the exterior hallway and the Queen bedroom does have a bathroom entry from bedroom but it also has an outside hallway door and not a good arrangement. The door would get locked from someone using it and then you would have to go around and unlock it so it wasn't helpful really to have a entry into the Queen bathroom. We didn't bring our beach chairs because there was "beach chairs" there but really there is a difference, they were camping chairs, which is fine, just not what we expected, we like the low actual beach chairs so we had to buy another set of beach chairs because this is what we prefer. The Oyster house has delicious food, but the marina cafe (can't remember the name) that is close by is awful except the tuna appetizer was delicious. Regardless, we had a great family time.

Owner response: We would like to have faster, and more consistent wifi service as well, and have addressed this with our Homeowner's Association Management. They have told us that they are looking into a different provider. I'm wondering if the guest didn't pull down the room-darkening shades over the wood blinds in both bedrooms; the combination does a good job of blocking the light from the hallway. This guest had phoned me the week before her check-in to ask specifics about the beach chairs. However, I made a change in our description here to "camping-style beach chairs" to avoid future misunderstandings. Please note that we represent in our description here that "Perdido Key is quiet & peaceful, yet there are plenty of things to see & do & lots of restaurants nearby. The island of Perdido Key is not as commercial or as congested as Panama City or Destin, yet it still has the white sand beaches & emerald water for which the Panhandle is renowned." If a guest has specific questions about things to do in the area, we are always glad to answer those; David is a Pensacola-native, very familiar with the area.
This was a beautiful condo. We all enjoyed being here. The condo was clean and well equipped Kitchen. Chairs were nice to take to beach each day. Swimming pool was cleaned each day and real nice but needed a little more light at night. Beds were really comfortable. Will stay here again if we come to this part of Florida for vacation again. Really enjoyed the Navel Museum it was so close.

What a wonderful place and condo for a quiet vacation. Everything in this condo is as nice as advertised and the fourth floor views are beautiful and relaxing. The owner went to great length to make this a pleasant experience. Having explained we would be driving, the owner not only provided detailed information on the entry procedure, she included Map Quest instructions from my door to the condo. This same attention to detail is evident in the condition of the condo. This is a place we will return to when we plan our next vacation to this area. Even the size of the complex is not overwhelming and is extremely well maintained.

On arrival the elevator was not working and we had to carry our stuff to the 4 th floor. The next day the electric was out in the area for about 3 hours. On Monday the elevator was not working in the morning, but worked the rest of the week. The view to the Guolf was very minimal. The condo was good.

Owner response: It's so unfortunate that the elevator wasn't working when this guest checked in & again another morning. We have owned the condo since 2006, & this was the first report we have heard about a malfunctioning elevator. Our guest checked in on a weekend evening, & immediately after he notified me, I e-mailed our Homeowner's Association. They are always responsive to maintenance concerns, & advised me that the problem was being addressed. A power outage is also rare, and certainly out of our control. I agree with our guest that our Gulf views are minimal. However, our photos & description accurately represent our panoramic views that include not only the Intracoastal Waterway & a picturesque custom home neighborhood, but also peek-a-boo views of the Gulf.
Can't say enough good about this condo! It is very clean, close to a lot of things, well stocked, helpful and friendly owners! We've stayed twice in 3 months and are looking forward to returning!

Wonderful place to stay!!
Wonderful place to stay!!
Our stay at the Johnson Beach condo was wonderful! Plenty of room for 4 adults, VERY comfortable beds and invigorating showers. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils of all kinds and plenty of glasses and plates. We did not cook at all; bought all of our food at the Publix across the bridge. Enjoyed the porch very much and the peek-a-boo ocean view. Felt safe and secure there. Small problem with security codes that was corrected with a phone call to the owner. Plan to stay again when in Pensacola visiting family. Joe & Mary from Philadelphia, PA.

This property was well represented in the VRBO listing. We found it to be just as advertised. The condo was well kept, clean and welcoming. The owner provided detailed and easy to follow directions to the property as well as easy access to the unit, once we arrived. I will recommend this property to family and friends. The nearby activities are plenty and fun! Some of our highlights were The Blue Angels practice session and Navy Museum, the Lighthouse, Joe Patty's (baked goods,) McGuire's Restaurant had tremendous food and a fun $1.6M atmosphere hanging on the walls and ceilings (had to go there twice because of the hamburgers,) Golf at Lost Key, a Trip to Gulf Shores, Lambert's Restaurant in Foley, AL (Fun and great rolls if you can catch!) and Fairhope, AL. But the best trip of all was the short walk to the beach where we took long walks, enjoyed a few good books and several sunsets!

Thank you David and Marilynn, Your condo is beautiful and has lots of room. We enjoyed our stay very much. My daughter said it was the most comfortable bed she had ever slept in. I loved the morning walks to the park. The beach was clean and never crowded. The information you sent and had at the condo was very helpful. Thank you both again for the loan of your beautiful home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your condo in Pensacola. Although our week started with some of the heaviest rain to ever hit Pensacola, the beach decor and colorful atmosphere of your condo helped keep our spirits bright. The weather was absolutely perfect after the storms. Taking photographs is a hobby of mine and I have not found many places that compare to the natural beauty of this area. The sunrises and the active marine life (dolphins, manta rays, crabs, etc.) were excellent photo opportunities. We were refreshed and grew closer to the Lord and each other while on our vacation. The kids had a great time and we miss it already. Thanks again so much for the special blessing which has led to many precious family memories.

Owner response: David and I have often noticed that, when it rains in the Pensacola area, it often clears up very quickly. After one storm, we recall a stunning rainbow that we viewed from our balcony. That was one of many photo opportunities we've experienced during our stays; we rarely leave the condo without our camera. It warms our hearts to hear that this family was refreshed and grew closer to the Lord and each other during their stay at our condo.

David Farrow currently owns and operates an appliance repair business in Cherokee County, GA. He is a veteran of the US Army. Marilynn is a special needs preschool teacher and artist. They have 3 grown sons and 1 grandson. David & Marilynn love the Lord and serve in their church in its new members' class & in ministry to foster children & orphans. David is also an altar counselor and is on the executive board of Next Step Ministries, which provides Christian therapeutic day care for special needs young adults.
Why the Owner Chose Grand Caribbean East & West:
Perdido Key is quiet & peaceful, yet there are plenty of things to see & do & lots of restaurants nearby. The island of Perdido Key area is not as commercial or as congested as Panama City or Destin, yet it still has the white sand beaches & emerald water for which the Panhandle is renowned. Without crossing a street, the Gulf is just steps away. Grand Caribbean has excellent ocean views and is family-friendly. And the elevator makes it convenient to get up to their 4th floor condo. David was born & raised in Pensacola. Marilynn grew up in Illinois and had never traveled to the Panhandle of Florida until she was an adult. They vacationed with family in several properties before selecting their Grand Caribbean condo as their 2nd home. Marilynn now considers their Perdido Key home one of her favorite spots on earth!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
David & Marilynn spend a lot of time enjoying the views from their top end unit L-shaped balcony. They love to entertain family & friends in the dining area which seats 6 at the table & 4 at the breakfast bar. Family & friends often spend the night; there is plenty of room to sleep 8--king bed in master, queen bed in guest room, bunks in hallway, sleeper sofa in living room--being the top floor, there's no worries about hearing footsteps overhead. The Farrows like to take camping chairs their condo is equipped with down to the shore just steps away. From the shore, David goes fishing; Marilynn paints watercolors of local landscapes and wildlife (several of her paintings decorate the walls in the condo). They like to go on sightseeing trips & are always discovering something new about the Perdido Key & nearby Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, & Pensacola areas . For their guests, they've compiled a binder of brochures about their favorite spots--the Big Lagoon State Park, the Naval Aviation Museum, Gulf Islands National Seashore, to name just a few. On occasion, they're able to watch the Blue Angels practice from their balcony.
