Perched high on a rocky hill covered with green moss, ferns and lichen, the cabin is reminiscent of the grandeur found in Adirondack lodges of days gone by. Located on Herrick Road, which is a long, basically empty country road shared only with a handful of houses, one restaurant/Inn and a summer camp facility. Such untouched places are hard to find.
This is a traditional, rural retreat full of period charm and character which provides a welcome contrast from the hectic, everyday lives we all find ourselves in. The cabin has minimal views of the ocean in the distance, but with a walking right of way to the private ocean beach, and to a fresh water lake beach just a short, pretty walk away. The four downstairs bedrooms include three queen beds, two singles with the fifth room upstairs having a double bed and a single. Fireplace in one of the bedrooms downstairs as well as the living room.
Fully equipped and newly renovated kitchen with a dishwasher, coffee pot and, of course, a lobster pot. Place settings for ten. A covered porch with wicker furniture offers a great place to sit and read or have a cup of coffee. Washer/dryer and all linens included.
This is a rusticators dream cabin with wild, Maine countryside right outside the back door and makes for an authentic, family vacation to remember. |
