Keywords:  Upstairs Unit. Very Comfortable and Conveniently located across the street from the Beach and six (6) blocks from the stores & restaurants!!!! New Carpet and Painted Throughout Spring 2010.

Upstairs unit with front deck facing the Gulf!! The Living/Dining/Kitchen Combination is open and faces the Beach.

The best description is Basic Beach Accommodations with a Sunrise View. Designated parking with two (2) spaces. Boat & Trailer parking allowed temporarily for renters.

Our unit is one of five, with 1-2 full time owners living on-site. Buildings were not originally built as condominiums. Responsible and considerate tenants are appreciated by all.

Commercial Laundry's are in the area.
Conservative Hint: Dry your bath towels and re-use them.

The beach has protected Turtle nests May - October. Pets must be controlled and everyone must pick-up after their pets on the property and beach.

St. George has great restaurants within walking distance and is a great place to take your bicycles, strollers, etc.. One third of the island is a beautifully protected Beach & Bay Front park.

Historic Apalachicola has several award winning restaurants, antique shops, a waterfront marina and serverl unique place to visit and tour.

Clean, simple beach condo very close to beach

We had a great time staying at the Wayward Winds late this summer. Debra was great about responding to our many inquiries. The price for this condo cannot be beat! The pictures listed on this page don't do justice to how close this property is to the beach. Only a two-lane road separates this condo from the beach access path, and the neighboring properties are all similar family-style condos, so the beach was far from crowded even during the height of summer rental season. This property is perfect for a family who needs a nice, clean, beach rental. Don't expect frills, but this unit had everything we needed, including a well-stocked kitchen. There are some small markets nearby and more grocery shopping available nearby in Apalachicola. We love Boss Oyster and Papa Joe's for seafood in Apalachicola. The Blue Parrot on SGI was a letdown. We had a great time cooking in the unit and enjoying cocktails on the large deck under what seemed like millions of stars. We'll definitely be back! Thanks, Debra! Owner response:Leslie is etirely accurate, and this is a typical experience and response of 99.9% of our past visitors tell other, and what people haave told us. Most problems are caused by people who do not accurately reveal what their actual plans are,i.e # of people, pets, and vehicles, when renting a place. Did not work well for us

We had 5 families renting 3 different units, including this rental with Ms. Debra. Under the signed contract with this specific unit we were allowed to have up to 6 people so we strictly followed the contract to have 6 of us stay in the unit; although for the first day there were some confusions from one of the families arrived late and did not know the arrangement so they stopped by this unit first - the resident downstairs questioned right away why we had 3 cars and how many people, etc. We got email complaint that night and felt like our privacy was invaded. When we returned from the rental Debra DID NOT return our security deposit. After back and forth for the full month she only returned half of our deposit. The unit is old, cooking utensils are provided but none of the pots have the covers that match. There is a need for renovation and upgrade.

Owner response:CM inquired, agreed to and paid the invoice I sent to him specifically for four (4) people and no more than two vehicles on the property. I recieved multiple complaints via telephone and email that his party had at least four (4) vehicles on the property and that a LOT of people were spending the night multiple nights. More than two vehicles were there on multiple nights and I don't know exactly how many people, but by his own admission he confirmed it was more than four. CM never shared with me his plans to rent our unit as "Headquarters" for a reunion-type of group vacation which is apparently what happened because of our location is closer to the beach. CM also agreed to give up $100 of his deposit for our trouble, time and as additonal money for renting our unit under false pretenses. If CM will send me $100 for additional rent I'll refund $100 deposit being held. I was very specific and he was, I feel, very dishonest with me to say the least. I also gave him a VERY GOOD rental rate - based on no more than four (4) people.......... because my fellow owners prefer I keep the number to a miniumum. Our agreement disclosed that an owner lives downstairs, etc.. At this point I look like a LIAR to my fellow owners due to this event and other as people - more than ever - are renting vacation units for a low number of peoeple when they know the occupancy wtill be for a higher number. The unit was completely repainted and had new carpet in 2009, and has been renovated and described as basic beach. He's being untruthful. Debra Freeman 770-722-2514

very nice beach house

My family vacationed June 6th-12th 2010. The beach veiw was wonderful. The house was just as described. It was well stocked and clean. The walk over to the beach was very short (across the road onto a very short trail). I would definelty recommend this property to anyone who is planning a vacation in the area.

We stayed here in late March and had a great time! Debra, the owner, was very pleasant and answered all of my questions about the property very quickly. The condo was as described. It was very well stocked and clean (which is not always the case in our experience with other VRBO properties). The beach in front of the condo is beautiful, and the state park 4 miles away is AMAZING. We met several neighbors, and they were all very nice. We hope to rent this property again sometime!

We celebrated our grandson's 16th birthday here and it was wonderful. The unit was just as described and Debra made everything so smooth. We will definitely be coming back to sit back and relax. Thank you for such a wonderful time!
