Relax in this beautiful historic mansion located in the heart of Potter County - Coudersport, PA. With 6 private acres, you’re secluded in the mountains surrounded by trees, flowers and a flowing stream. The walk around the property is sensational with a large bass pond occupying most of the six acres and you have easy access to trails for biking, snowmobiling or just taking a walk.
The completely furnished French Château style home dates from the 1930's and was built by the late Dr. Donald Othmer as a family summer vacation home. From the hardwood floors to the curved marble staircase, you'll marvel at the original details.
With five bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, you can bring along the entire family and still have plenty of privacy. 1 King Bed, 2 Queen beds, 2 Doubles and a twin. A private office is available if you must catch-up on a little work or instead take in the mountain air, fish the bass pond, relax and watch the turtles and ducks play or my personal favorite, roasting marshmallows on the open fire pit. Just bring your lounge pants, tooth brush & leave the stress in the city.
If it's the ski slopes of Ski Denton, The Coudersport Public Golf Course, The Susquehannock Trail System or just a relaxing break. Come and experience the good life of Potter County at Othmer Pond Estate.

Sometimes when you're anticipating something for awhile (as we did with our trip), there is a letdown -- it looks better than it is. This is one instance where the opposite was true. The house, the lake, the area is just amazing! We hiked, fished, played tennis, rowed, lounged by the fire, and most of all relaxed and enjoyed, feeling very much at home. The place was clean, very comfortable, and perfect for Easter dinner and board games to follow. And, even though the weather was a little bit chilly, we were able to start a nice warm fire in the pit and sit outside under the beautiful stars. The baby ducks were adorable, and took to following my daughter around like a mother duck. For a little girl that doesn't like being away from home, she's already asking when we can return. Actually, the rest of us are asking the same question!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

The VRBO listing description was impressive, but can't possibly capture the charm and beauty of the real thing. Being there at the peak of the fall colors made it that much better. Eight women family members ranging in age from 16 to 60 were at Othmer Pond for fun, food and Jane Austen movies. We felt as if we were staying at Longbourne, and Coudersport doubled as Merriton. Othmer Pond is a beautiful, clean, comfortable place to really relax. In my conversations with the owner, Greg, I felt as though he was an old friend who wanted us all to feel welcome and comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped; there is a rowboat to paddle around the pond in; and a pair of resident ducks (whom we dubbed Lydia and Whickam) greeted us every morning in a most animated manner (especially when we had a cup of chicken feed for them). Some of us wandered in the woods, others strolled around the pond. We had a fire in the fire pit for smores, and a fire in the pellet stove in the evening. Everything was clean and comfortable. I recommend Othmer pond for everyone. Families with children will love the outdoor amenities as well as the roomy interior and good supply of games. Groups of women will love it for purposes similar to ours, and groups of men could have "Die Hard/Terminator Weekends" there as well! The heart of Coudersport is a walk of minutes, where there are plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as a grocery store. We loved Olga's in particular. We had such a good time that we're planning on making it a yearly event. Thank you so much Greg for everything!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

Our family wanted to get away from it all and we couldn't have chosen a better place!!! The house was unbelievable beautiful and spacious, reminiscent of a large southern plantation home. The beds were so cozy it was hard to make our way out to the beautiful balcony in the morning for coffee and to feed the awesome ducks our children named during our stay. We enjoyed fishing on and off shore the boat being there was an added surprise especially to our boys who couldn’t seem to stay off the water. All we needed to do was unpack our cloths we brought supplies like towels and such that never left our truck, everything we could have needed was there and then some. We spent days by the pond and even at the local pool which was minutes away on the bike trial and nights by the fire enjoying the scenic back patio area. This vacation was one for the books we plan on visiting many more time!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities.

We had a wonderful time relaxing, going for drives to the beautiful PA Grand Canyon and generally enjoying our stay. The house is fascinating and very comfortable, clean and well cared for. We enjoyed feeding the ducks and walking around the pond. It is very private and yet only a short distance from downtown Coudersport. This house is a good bet if you want to get away from it all!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

Our family spent three nights at Othmer Pond in early May. The accommodations were very comfortable for the ten of us and we enjoyed spending time in Coudersport, especially at John and Olga's restaurant and art gallery in town.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I would highly recommend the Othmer Pond Estate. When we weren't fishing the multitude of stocked and native streams, we had a great time walking the property, feeding the ducks, and enjoying the huge patio, grill, and firepit at night. It was a perfect escape to relax and get away. We can't wait to return. Also, I read some other reviews about poor cell reception. I have Verizon and had no problems at all. You can't go wrong at this property.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

As soon as you cross the bridge onto the property you can feel the peaceful atmosphere enfold you. The house has a wonderful homey presence made even warmer by the pellet stove in the living room. The dining room encourages guests to stay at the table and chat for hours. Comfortable beds, complete kitchen, modern bathrooms. Add to this the entertaining ducks and beautiful grounds - what more could you want? Can't wait to go back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We had our annual mother-daughter weekend here and it was wonderful. The house is very comfortable, the area is beautiful, and I had so much fun feeding and watching the ducks. Even the though it was only early spring, the grounds were still pretty, and thanks to some early warm weather, we were about to spend a relaxing afternoon reading on the back patio.Did you find this review helpful? I would highly recommend Greg's mountain estate as a place for families to gather and enjoy the nearby ski resort, Denton Hill. Within ten minutes you can be on the slopes and enjoying the day. After a long day of skiing, you can come back to a warm, cozy home where there is seating for all at the large dining room table, a place to chill-out in the den, and comfortable beds for those who are ready to recharge and sharpen the saw for the following day. Greg was very pleasant to work with and was available whenever I needed to reach him.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
