Charming studio on the plateau

Guest: Tangovet (Raleigh, NC, UA)
Date of Stay: 07/02/11 Review Submitted: 09/24/11

My wife and I stayed in this small apartment this summer. It is very nicely located, next to a park, restaurants and many shops. Downtown is 20 minutes away via the metro (10 minute walk) or the Bixi rental bicycles (four stations around the park). It is a wonderful place to stay away from the busy life, but the activity is within minutes of biking or walking. The condo is nicely furnished and comfortable and the kitchen fully equipped. Pierette, the owner, is very nice and very helpful. We highly recommend it and will be back!

Montreal stay made perfect by this beautiful apartment and location

My partner and I stayed here for one week of a beautiful Montreal summer. Pierrette lives downstairs and was very accommodating and not vaguely intrusive. We lived as though we were in our own flat. The location is ideal for being on the Plateau, without being in the busy centre. Park Laurier is 30 feet away, alive with neighbourhood activity and peaceful escapes, but never loud or unpleasant. We took it in from our front terrace. Around the corner are fantastic cafes and small specialty grocers, as well as a full grocery store. The busy core of the Plateau, Rue Mount Royal, is about a 10 minute walk, or, even better, a 2 minute ride on our BIXI bikes. The BIXI bike rental system is brilliant and has given the city an injection of clean activity and accessibility. There is a BIXI bike rental station about 50 feet from the apartment. We went everywhere on these - a treat in itself. The apartment was even more lovely than pictured. Pierrete's attention to the building's historic beauty brings a special Quebec experience to staying away from home. The bed was very comfortable, with fine quality bedding and a fan well placed above. The apartment is very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. And ther terraces were fantastic - morning breakfast in the back and evening cocktails in the front. We both highly recommend this beautiful place and look forward to staying here again.

Cute apartment facing pool and park

My husband and two-year old just had a fantastic week-long vacation in Montreal in this studio. Our daughter loved the wading pool across the street (there is a big pool too), as well as the park behind it. During her nap my husband biked around the city using the rental bikes. Everything was convenient (grocery, metro, restaurants) and Pierrette was very sweet. The studio was adorable and everything was there that we needed to cook in a few nights as well. We would go back in a heartbeat. Merci!

Ideal accomadations

When my wife and I visit new cities we like to stay in neighborhoods away from the tourist areas to get a local perspective. We planned this short trip late and were lucky that Pierette had a cancelation that worked to our schedule. We could not have picked a better place to stay. Every amenity you might need is within blocks of the apartment-great restaurants, coffee/pastry shops, grocery store, laundromat, bakery-it's all there. The nearest subway station (a great system) is only a ten minute walk and the bixi bike station (we used this a lot) is directly across the street. This apartment gets our highest recommendation.

CD from Torrance

This apartment was almost exactly what we expected. What we did not expect was the wonderful hospitality of our host. Thank you for making feel like we came to stay at a friends place. The apartment was clean, airy and with a park view in the front and a garden view in the rear. It made going out a little difficult as we spent a lot of time on the balcony. The area is top notch with many local restaurants, shops and nightspots. We walked all over at all times day and night with no issues (other than tired feet). The Bixi bikes are easy to rent and use to get around town and a bike stand is right across the street. We recommend a bike tour of the City with Cycle Tours Montreal. The tour is at an easy pace so all can enjoy; only a couple of small hills; coffee and croissants with a lunch are included; and the guides are very informative and full of other suggestions for your stay. This was a highlight for us and gave us many ideas for our next trip. Seven days just was not enough. We will definitely return for an encore. Merci.

Perfect Flat for Quick Monteal Visit

Guest: Jen (Washington, DC)
Date of Stay: 06/09/10 Review Submitted: 06/18/10

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for 4 nights. It was absolutely perfect. So clean and had all the needed ammenities for a stocked kitchen. It's in a quiet, safe neighborhood overlooking a park. You can walk to the grocery store since it's just around the corner. There are some great cafe's in the area and a wonderful ice cream shop about 1 block from the apartment. The owner was so helpful with restaurant recommendations and she even had a stocked frig with some drinks and flowers on the table for us--almost like a bed and breakfast. Also, we were very impressed by the shower pressure and temp. Anyone who's been to Europe understands bathrooms are different there, but this one was perfect! The only small downside, was that the flat across the hall (which this studio shares a front balcony with), is occupied by a smoker (at the time we visited). We would smell it very rarely, but if you are highly sensitive to smoke, that may be a consideration for you. It was not an issue with us.

Owner response:merci merci beaucoup !!!!!!! see you another time maybe . merci encore pierrette

This beautiful, clean, and cozy apartment was in a wonderful location...a close walk away from bars, restaurants, and anything else we needed. Much bigger than I expected, the apartment was exactly what I was looking for, with two great balconies (one of which overlooks Parc Laurier). Pierrette, Elana and I would just like to thank you again for all of your help and wonderful recommendations. We can't wait to come back!
