Keywords: Cottage, lake house, ski house, beach, waterfront
Our cottage is a great family getaway. Highlights are the flat yard, shallow beach, and a panoramic view of the lake. There are two kayaks, a sailboat, canoe, and paddle-boat. There's ping pong in the garage and room for badminton or croquet in the yard. If you bring or rent a boat, we have a mooring right off the beach and plenty of flat parking for the trailer. It's a single story building with just a few steps in and out, so great for little kids or elderly guests.
The winterized cottage features a cozy living room with fireplace and TV, and a dining area that has a great view of the yard and lake. There are six beds in three bedrooms, a sleeper sofa in the living room and a couch on the enclosed porch providing plenty of sleeping options. One bathroom has a tub and shower and there's unlimited hot water. The half bath means there's never a line for the toilet. The kitchen is well equipped for constant cooking. There's a fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, and plenty of cookware.
We'd love to share the Sunapee experience with you. Please contact Michelle for details. She's with Sunapee Getaways and makes sure questions, contracts, and any problems are handled quickly and professionally.
Several neighbors also rent to families, so there are often many children around. Some people rent multiple cottages to enable multi-family vacations. Contact us if you'd like contact information on adjacent or nearby cottages.

Why the Owner Chose Newbury
Lake Sunapee is under two hours from Boston, yet far enough north that there's always snow in winter.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
The beach is unique because it is so shallow with a clean sandy bottom. It is a great place to learn to swim. The north-facing view offers a beatiful panorama.
The property has a flat grassy yard which is unusual for lakefront properties and ensures that kids have room to play. The cottage is one story with just a few steps in and out, making it great for little kids or elderly guests.
We're less than two hours from Boston too, so our hope is that families will rent for a week in the summer and then come up for a few weekends or a ski week in the winter.
One final feature worth mentioning is that there are five cottages on this beach that can be rented in the summer, making this a great location to organize a vacation for multiple households.
Owner's Map of Newbury
We are a family of four; Chris, Bridget, Ian(9) and Sean(6). We bought the cottage in the fall of 2007 because Chris had vacationed on this beach all his life and couldn't resist the opportunity. Now, in addition to sailing and swimming in summer, we're discovering hiking, sledding, skiiing, even ice sailing in the fall, winter, and spring. There's always something fun to do outdoors! If you have to stay indoors, it is nice and cozy with a great view.

WOW! Our stay at the cottage was as wonderful as we had hoped it would be and more! We rented it sight unseen and hoped that we were making the right choice! We enjoyed the picturesque and breathtaking sunsets and views from the lake! The cottage was ideal and perfect for our family vacation. We have older teens and they thoroughly enjoyed it as much as we did. The cottage was well stocked with all that we needed and more than we expected to make our stay comfortable. While the weather wasn't always cooperative during our week there, we still did enjoy our stay. We made the most of our time every night by sitting out on the open/airy enclosed porch playing games, charades, laughing and spending much needed quality time. When we did get into the lake, it was very hard to leave it. It was relaxing, calming and we felt like the owners supplied all the necessary anemities to help us have fun in the water! We LOVED the fact that we had our own beachfront firepit which we lit every night, roasted marshmallows and hotdogs and the warmth on the cooler nights was soothing. We were uncertain of the close proximity of our neighbors but it was NOT an issue at all! We all got along and everyone was respectful towards eachother and their precious time together. While there are some much bigger homes surrounding this cottage, we found the cottage to be perfect in every way! It was quaint and cozy and the setup of the house/yard made us grateful we chose this location. The yard was perfect and the beachfront was spectacular! As we were told, it was sandy, clear and beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us and we hope to be back next year and invite some more of our out of state family to share the great time we had!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The view was fabulous, and the kids had a great time with the kayaks, canoe, and paddle boat. We slept 7 comfortably and still had room for more. The only problem was with the Croft's Beach sign which is given in the directions to the house. It is in some pine trees and runs parallel to the road, so we didn't see it until we had parked in front of the garage and were walking back to the house. Prepare for wind from the lake... white caps were the rule. Some unique features await you in the house. You'll have to come here to see them!
