We call our house Casa Paraiso, or Paradise House. This newly constructed golf course house is part of a gated community at La Ventana del Mar, in San Felipe, Norte Baja. Only 2 hours drive from the border town of Mexicali or 4.5 hours drive from San Diego, California.
Enjoy privacy and quiet as you relax in our rental. See breathtaking sunrises over the Sea of Cortez, enjoy great sunsets over the nearby mountains, as well as enjoy the open space of a green golf course in your front yard, with a football size lake right in front of your view. All these scenic wonders make your vacation peaceful and memorable.
Fill your days with walks along the beach. You will be amazed with the number of shells that you can collect, and the amazing swings in low water tide levels, which is a unique feature of the San Felipe area.
If you like golf like we do, you will be in for a treat. La Ventana has a championship 18-hole course that is challenging, but five different tee boxes make it very fair. Prices are reasonable and include range balls and a cart. Don’t golf, no problem, there are many other things to do. There are tennis courts, and also a beach club with a swimming pool where you can sip a drink, have a bite, and surf the net with free Wi-Fi. Google La Ventana Del Mar to learn everything about the resort. Of course, what could be more fun than enjoying all that the Sea of Cortez has to offer? You can walk for miles on sugary white sand that usually seems to feel like your own personal beach. Kayak, sail, boat, or just swim in the beautiful blue-green water. There is also a permanent volley ball net set up on the beach. When the tide is out you can grab a bucket and go “clamming” and steam up a nice dinner. Look for sand dollars on the way, you will see plenty.

- Ocean View: Our views from the upstairs patio are amazing. Enjoy views of majestic mountains, the green golf course and of course the Sea of Cortez.
- Lake View: Actually the lake is on the Golf Course right in front. Enjoy the cool mist of the water fountain in the center of the lake on those days when the wind blows in the right directions.
- Mountain View: Believe it these mountains are up to 10000 feet talk. The mountains keep the storms from the Pacific Ocean away. In the winter you can see snow on the tops of some of the mountains.

My wife and I started exploring where to retire. We currently live in Northern California, which is a very beautiful place, but also very expensive to live in. Our quest for a vacation home was centered around water and a view. At El Dorado Ranch, San Felipe, Baja we found both of these goals. As we interviewed people who we met we were continuously impressed that this area had been their family destination for 20 + years. It was truely a paradise escape from the craziness of California and Arizonia, as it just a short drive alway. Read on to understand how our quest for a vacation / retirement home centered on this beautiful area.
Why the Owner Chose San Felipe
Located about 2 hours drive south of the Mexican border town, on the eastern side of Baja Ca. is San Felipe. It is really a fishing village, that hasn't really grown up. Walking the beaches is a great time for relaxation. Collect sea shells, sail, fish, and enjoy the warm sun. This is what you will experience when you come here.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Staying in a house gives you added privacy and quietness for relaxation. There is a full entertainment system that includes a 32” TV, DVD player, VHS player and a satellite system to watch cartoons for the kids to CNN for Mom and Dad including southern California local channels. A nice library of reading material is available. If that is not enough, WIFI internet connection is available to email the family, check your stocks or keep in touch with friends. This property is set up to sleep four with comfort and luxury. Fully air conditioned for the warmth of the summer and heat to take the chill off in the winter you will want to stay and hide from the hustle and bustle of home

Hello! We enjoyed our stay in your home. It was very comfortable. We liked all the light inside and the natural light and white walls. Feels like a home in Acapulco, Mexico! The AC was nice! The kitchen décor and bothrooms are very cute. We felt we were in a real paradise house far far away, when we are really only a few hours away from our home.
