Welcome to "Point-to-Ponder". This beautiful retreat is located on a 1/2 acre+ lot on Colington Island in the Albemarle Sound. You are about to discover one of the best kept secrets of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It, along with only two other designer homes sits on a point and is surrounded by water on three sides. It is sound front, on the harbor entrance and has unobstructed views of the harbor. The views are spectacular from both inside and outside the home. Since the Albemarle Sound is 55 miles wide, it also offers some of the most spectacular sunset views available on the East Coast, as well as direct and easy access to the Inland Waterway and the ocean. It is a two day sail to Ocracoke Island and a half day sail to Manteo Island Waterfront and Festival Park. For those without a boat, you can drive to Manteo via causeway or visit Ocracoke via ferry boat.
Some of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast are a short drive away. The Kitty Hawk Right Brothers Memorial Park and Museum is within five miles and there are four lighthouses within an hours drive or less (including Hatteras Lighthouse). Wild horses roam the beaches north of its location and Jockey Ridge Park is a short distance away and contains the largest natural dunes on the Outer Banks, as well as opportunities for hang gliding and kite flying.
The huge decks, private pool and hot tub provide unobstructed views of the water, and two protected deep water slips are available for use on the harbor side, along with a boat ramp to launch your boat if needed.
The interior of this 3000+ square foot home is decorated with designer taste and has a huge game/exercise room and two car garage available on the first level.
