Hillockhead Farm cottages are located on the Black Isle (near Inverness) renowned for it's mild dry climate and home to the Moray Firth dolphins! Lovely beaches, rock pools, fossils and pretty villages.
This area of the Scottish highlands is a haven for wild life, birds, wild flowers and sea life, including seals, oystercatchers, osprey and Britain's largest school of wild dolphins, which can often be seen from the door of your cottage.
The villages of Rosemarkie, Fortrose and Cromarty offer excellent facilities including pubs, restaurants shops, museums and dolphin trips. There are many leisure activities including, walking, cycling (new mountain bike trails) pony trekking, quad biking, fishing, bird watching and a superb 18-hole golf course. Open all year round there is something all season whether it is long summer evenings, blazing autumn colors or a chance to see the Northern lights during winter.
The ideal place for a holiday, perfect for both families or romantic breaks. Central to the Highlands, the Black Isle makes an ideal base for touring the Highlands: Loch Ness, Sky, salmon jumping, castles, distilleries, mountains and glens can all be explored on a day out.

Visit the Queen mothers castle; Castle of Mey or Balmoral Scottish home of the Royal family, both about 2 hours drive away.
Take in the haunting atmosphere of nearby Culloden Battlefield site of the bloody battle between the Jacobites and government troops.
The accommodation consists of a double room and family room with 3/4 beds, 2 bathrooms, one with whirlpool bath. There is an open plan living/dining area with laminate floors, comfortable sofas and modern well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer etc .
The cottage has gorgeous views over the sea and out towards Fort George from glass patio doors. Sit on your sofa and watch the ever changing view with ships sailing by or even dolphins playing!
There are lawns in areas to relax in and lovely walks from your doorstep.
